Okay, I thought about coming here and making a thread just about Flemeth, but I held off. But having seen the post-credits scene--holy cow. Just holy cow. Flemeth, a freaking Elven spirit, then Solas an elven spirit. And then...did he kill her? Absorb her power?

Between Morrigan being able to turn to a dragon now, Flemeth being what she was, then taking the old god soul, and now Solas being the Dread Wolf and...doing something to her, I feel like Inquisition has introduced some huge, HUGE points of discussion to the lore.

It would appear that the old elven "gods" were real, and not only real but still alive today. And not only alive, but in these cases, inhabiting human vessels. That would imply the other elven "gods" are out there somewhere. And--Mythal called him "friend." Not a betrayer which, combined with the knowledge of Mythal's murder, paints a very different picture indeed.

And we saw straight up that the Dead Wolf is out and about, on the task of some plan. Should be very interesting to see where they take this.

I hope we at least get DLC that addresses this, before the fourth game. The implications are very interesting, I don't want to wait until DA4 to have some answers.

As for Flemeth, I had doubts about her declaration that she was inhabited by Mythal. But recognizing Solas and calling him ''old friend'' pretty much validates it. I wonder if there are other Elven gods up and about.

I suppose I should have put this in the "story" forum, but that's not a spoilers forum.

if you romanced solas as a female lavallen you are a god-mancer. I wonder if that means that female lavallen might be regarded as a demi-god or goddes in her own right for the elves?:P

Though I do hope to see a wolf hunt dlc for inquisiton like there was the witch hunt dlc for origins.

I think what he did was absorb Mythal specifically. Flemeth then died since Mythal was that which was keeping her alive. Perhaps Solas is trying to collect the whole set?

I don't think he killed her, looks like he turned her to stone or something. BTW, nice avatar. ;)

I really hope this is addressed sooner than DA4. I felt terrible for my Levallan Mage that romanced Solas and putting her through that heartbreak. I want them to be reunited again! And soon!

Hopefully we get a proper expansion this time. I don't like leaving things to next games, especially in a series that changes protagonists with each entry. I'd rather not have any returning cast members in the next DA, but a whole new cast for us to enjoy.

Solas roaming around the world on his own and outside of a Dalish clan was just a little teensy-weensy bit suspect. I chose not to have him in my party that much though :/, it is also a puzzler as to why he tells YOU to lead everyone to Skyhold when he knew about it(I at least would have liked the option to ask, "why don't you tell everyone about this instead of me?") I never got his character quest in my game, but he made me suspect him especially when he just disappeared lol I told Leliana it didn't matter if we followed him or not :P.

They clearly had a plan I think they were the ones who occupied the golden city but they ended up on the other side of the fade somehow the answers to all my questions is probably in when, where and how did Cory get that orb from dread.

For Flemeth I think she was just fed up with everything so she let Solas take her lifesouce and finally died. She had been around for a vast amount of time and, depending on your choices, obviously regrets quite a bit in terms of Morrigan.

So personally I assumed she let him take her lifeforce so she could finally die.

I think its open to interpretation who was in charge of Sola's skin at the end of that scene.  Could be Mythal.  Could be Fen'Harel.  Flemth's gasp could have been surprise, could have been pleasure.  It doesn't automatically mean she was caught unaware.  And, Flemeth is the one with a history of body-jumping.  So, yeah.  Could be either of them.

Also Flemeth told Morrigan that a soul cannot be imposed on the unwilling.  Assuming that's true (and it could easily be a lie, I'm not unaware of that) then if Flemeth was the driving force behind that trick, Solas had to be willing to let it happen.  Fun times.

If it wasn't obvious to some people:

Flemeth says it has to be willingly.
Solas says he regrets what is about to happen because he is the one who "should pay the price".
Solas absorbs flemeth.
Solas is laying Flemeth's body down out of respect, its not Flemeth putting her old body down.
Solas is shown the whole game to be a good guy.

Solas is the one absorbing Flemeth, not the other way around. This is painfully obvious.

thanks, i was gonna post this. Everything points to what you said. The Dread Wolf and Mythal were not enemies, Solas does not kill her.

Side note that Morrigan can only become a dragon if you let her drink from the wall.

I think bioware still sticking to new protagonists with each game. That's one of the things they stressed when it came to the dragon age franchise. It's about the world more than it is one specific character.

I don't think it's obvious at all, and I think the writers intended it that way. If it was painfully obvious, there would be no doubt whatsoever and threads like this wouldn't exist!

You could be right.  However, I remember when people were swearing up and down, and mocking those that disagreed with them, that The Warden was going to be the protagonist of the second Dragon Age game, because it was completely obvious.

Or that Morrigan would be in DA2.  That was obvious too.

It was obvious for me that Flemeth possessed Solas not the other way around. And her fiery dialogue with Morrigan about vengeance denied and her constant plotting was leading to that. She definetly seemed like she had a clear goal she must accomplish. I very much doubt that succumbing to Solas was that goal. There were no strong leads like that for Solas, he just seemed distraught and helpless in that final scene. And when Flemeth possessed Solas his eyes flashed exactly the same as in her scene with Morrigan in the Fade. I don't know about whether Solas is a god or what his real powers are, he didn't show them, but I definetly know that Flemeth is a god vessel and is perfectly capable of switching bodies.
