In my opinion the real world (in game and out) is run by to many of these so called "professionals" with rules that only suit them in short and long run, while they manipulate masses to think that is not true. So I agree with Sera, the "Nobles" need to GTFO and professionals should allow the "not" professionals to influence decisions in equal measure.

So you think that instead of looking at the big picture and managing things on a larger scale to make an economy work should take a back seat to getting even with someone because they slighted a few people?

Nice. Because that's Sera's while deal. He made these people's lives worse so he should pay/die for it. You'll note that she doesn't care about the persons reasons or actual motivations for doing what they did. She assumes motivations and only cares that someone who has more than others did something to upset a few less fortunate people.

You do that every single day as the Innquisitor. Every time you talk to her she's basically calling you out even if you do everything you can to help as many people as you can.

Krem offers a great example when he talks about his father's business. A noble started having shirts and blankets made and sold for extremely cheap so slaves and less fortunate wouldn't freeze to death during winter.

Now, doing this put Krem's father and others out of business. But it also likely saved countless lives during winter. If you asked Sera, this man needs to die because he put people out of business and caused them to seek themselves into government servitude. Never mind the fact that he was only doing it to try and help out as many people as he could.

Sera doesn't care about the big picture. The Inquisitor has to. Bringing her along is like bringing your own heckler when you're about to make an important speech.

I admit I haven't fineshed the game yet. I'm now about 40 hours into the game, doing all the side quests I can. On a few occasions I did make a decision which made her disapprove. but until now to me she seems like she does care about bigger problems. She joins the Inquisition offering help, because she does not want the world to end and one of the reasons is she wants things to be "normal" again - which she points out numerous times. She also knows you need resources to run the whole operation and always tells you how the inquisition could benefit if you do quests to save her people.

But if she wasn't there, no one would care so much for peasants and small town people, whose burning houses you pass to demonslayingly walk trough big, seemingly unbreachable city walls. Inside you witness first world drama being played out on a big scale, and most of the occupants don't even speak about the dying, they even use them further. I know that order must be made trough any means necessary, but Sera, to me, is still a very good reminder of strange balances on earth - and she still manages to have fun.

I think all the da games have had 9 companions. If you include DLC companions. They aren't giving us DLC companions this time- so it seems like they just gave them to us up front.

Which I appreciate because I don't think we should have to pay extra for something as important as companions. Plus- everybody likes playing with different parties. I think Blackwall had a more interesting character arc than others- and personally wouldn't want to see him go. I hate sera but others like her. Don't use who you don't like...

Also Roderick didn't "disappear" from the end of act I - he died. And it was actually kind of sad. He wasn't a villain at all. He said something along the lines of- "His whole purpose in life was to guide those people out of Haven." Personally I found it touching.

Also- loved the astrarium mini games. Could do without shards and so much herb collecting though.

Personally the changes I would have made were:

less "filler" content- more main quests.

LESS RIFTS. They are so boring!! I still have to do 45 more for the trophy. FORTY FIVE!

More organization to the war table- clean out completed quests or something. Perhaps less war table missions in general. It added a degree of realism to the story but it got to a point where it was just too confusing. I had way too many Leliana only quests, and a lot of difficulty prioritizing them.

Then why bother collect shards? Do you know how many hours of gameplay you lose if players don't have to backtrack and collect these things from the most unreachable places?

I'm closing in on 60 hours and just barely met Stroud.

I'm never going to collect the shards, because I don't care.

Having romanced Blackwall, I'm going to totally disagree with cutting him. :P I also liked the exploration, so I really wouldn't cut any of that either. However, they probably should have made the Hinterlands a little more manageable for people - I can see why it's a bit overwhelming for some.

I would certainly have liked even more quests related to the main storyline and would have liked even more dialogue and content involving the companions back at Skyhold (banter in the field is fun when it triggers). And I actually did take the time to get to know everyone, so I'm rather fond of all of them - even Vivienne whom I was sure that I would hate. While Sera wasn't a favorite, I did enjoy the pranking and the cookies, so she can stick around. :P

I agree that there should've been at least main story quest in taking place more areas. Some places i bump into kinda helps contribute more to nthe plot

Also- yes to female dresses at the Orlesian ball. And can we get the inquisitor something that doesn't resemble pajamas to wear around Skyhold?! The pants and boots are cool but I cringe every time I see that jacket.

They definitelly could do better. Too much in terms of numbers but not enough in terms of quality

At least make most locations smaller, so instead of countless fetch quests there would be small but real side quests with choices and consequences. Make the main story longer

With 3 "class" each having 3 "advanced classes," it means you will have 9 companions. Even if it is purely for game mechanic reasons, Sera has a reason to be there.

I can't think of anything I would want to see cut. Maybe the number of shards needed to get through all those doors in in oasis ... I love all the side stories. The bottles, war room, the quests from notes found in the wild, all of that has a place to me. If you trim everything down to only those points related to the main story you loose everything about being an open world.

I feel like all of this would have been solved with a few more months of development. I dread to say that, but it's true

I liked the turn of event with Roderick in the game. I was set on hating him after the initial antagonism between us, but I ended up feeling a certain amount of regret and sympathy when he saved everyone with what he knew despite being mortally wounded.

I'm just happy we didn't get an Udina 2.0.

One thing that bothered me was the power point system. At the end of the game i had far over 200 points and there was nothing i could do with them. Why not use them to shorten the timers on the war table or buying Inquistion perks, resources etc.

One problem I ran into was "do I mount and get there faster... Or run so I have a chance of hearing banter?"

Then the inevitable "why do I have a mount when I can just fast travel to most locations?" Realization.

Solution for me? Run and wish that when I mounted, my companions did as well instead of just disappearing into the pocket universe sewn into my jacket.

lol same here, the sad part is that at the start of ME3, I was starting to like him. Then found out, he was planning a coup, I think it was the fastest renegade click I ever did. I was there waiting for it the first time.

yea really, I mean really 16hours to do something? No way I'm going to play and grind though that amount of time, So I started a new character and just check in on from time to time..... Kinda reminds me of the mobile titles... now that would be a good app to have to tie into your game. However that would require it be online more which is meh.

Places like Hissing Waste just take too long without a mount.

I never used a mount. Riding it felt incredibly slow and the "sprint" effect looked awful.

If you're playing on console - PS4 not sure if it works on xbox I just fast forwarded my console clock and disconnected it from the internet. Did it for ridiculously long missions,  I remember having 10 hours lefts on 'contact Hero of Ferelden' but only having the last mission to go so I did that. It also works if you are growing herbs in your skyhold garden. Pick the herbs, travel to hinterlands, fast forward clock, travel back to skyhold, pick herbs etc.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with all of that. An Udina in one game was fun, but let's give that whole thing a rest.

You should fix the thread title. I thought this was gonna be about the Hissing Wastes and how awesome it could be.
