Are there still crossbows ingame that the player can use? I haven't been able to find any.

A few days ago i searched and searched for an answer to this. The only one i found was some random guy on some random forum saying no, there are no crossbows other than Varric's which really sucks.
Now he could have been wrong but i haven't seen any mention of them and i can't find them on the wiki other than for origins.

Bianca is is the only crossbow type weapon in the game and can only be made stronger by attaching weapon upgrades and is exclusive to varric

funny, in the Masked Empire, Orlesian soldiers had crossbows. In the games, only Varric has one.

My guess would be that because of the increase in combat speed between DAO and DA2 onwards that traditional crossbows were scrapped because they don't match the more rapid firing rate of the newer games, due to the longer time it takes to reload vs a standard bow.
Bianca is said to be a unique special rapid-fire crossbow so they can get away with having a faster rate of fire for her.
