This DLC was released on the Xbox without real support (and most people think by mistake). It's not available on any other format. It's since been revoked on the Xbox as well, due to causing serious glitches.
Yet I find spoilers for the DLC in rather a lot of threads. My usual response would be to stop reading the spoilers forum. Yet as RTO hasn't been released officially on all platforms I was wondering if adding information that's a direct result of the DLC to general non-tagged RTO posts was okay.
What do other folk think? Should these spoilers be considered differently because the game play isn't available to most people?

It was released, then halted, so it's not like people got the info by stealing it. So IMHO they should be able to post in the spoilers forum just like everyone else.

Best is avoid RTO thread or some relate topic, however not everyone get the DLC in illegal way.

I think however that they shouldn't interject with RtO spoilers on a thread that isn't specificly about RtO. While RtO gives insights into some parts of the game, it doesn't have a wide enough release that it can be considered general knowledge.

Actually I'd think this is a situation for the Moderators to deal with. Perhaps you could message one of them about it

(without camping my box till rto went live) i happen to get the "new downloadable content available!" message and downloaded it before it was taken down.
there is some stuff that's like, "oh cool!", but i wouldn't consider it real spoilers. you should already know what happened at ostagar. and as the title says.....you return to it. there isn't much more to it than that.

As a PC user, I didn't even get the chance to download it at all. I've seen spoilers here and there, but nothing earth-shattering as far as I know. It might be a mark of courtesy for people to mark off RTO spoilers before casually throwing them in, I suppose.

Technically, they can do it, but it's rude as h**l, since almost no one has played the game. The decent thing to do would be to only post such spoilers in threads clearly marked 'RtO spoilers' so as to give the rest of us a chance to enjoy the DLC without having it utterly ruined, rather than pepper unrelated threads with them.

Its okay so long as i specifically mention that i am dropping an RtO spoiler.

I think that part of the problem is that RtO contains some major information that expands on the motives of King Cailan relating to Loghain, Anora and Alistair and their actions. And since around 50% of everything posted here seems to be about bashing or defending those characters actions and motives it's hard to keep it out of the debate.

It's a bit annoying, but no different to stuff from the books appearing in threads that are not specific to the books. For much the same reason Xandurpein noted. But lots of us haven't read the books yet. I don't really have an issue with it, but I can see where many might.
