Wow, it's like I just said I don't get some people's tastes, and then you completely ignored it because I hated on your waifu. Oh wait, that's exactly what you just did.

And like i said, you don't have to understand people's tastes. Because, different tastes.

I've quoted people who called Cass ugly, it has nothing to do with "waifu".

Edit. I quote people who seem to not "understand" why people are attracted to a particular character and i've said the same to them as i did to you.

Just like I don't HAVE to understand anything else besides the basics in life to function as a vegetable. That won't stop me from inquiring or commenting on something that I see as insane inane. The day my "tastes" restrict me on what I may comment on is the day I'll stop. That day isn't today and likely won't be any day, so I'll go on doing that, thanks.

*shrug*  Because they had more stories to tell regarding those two?  Who knows?

Personally, I was quite satisfied with the Cassandra arc, and I'm looking forward to romancing Josephine with my qunquisitor.

Fair enough. Personally i found Cassandra a wonderful character and her romance content lacking if passable.

Although I don't get multiple threads of the issue nor whining how ugly/unfeminine Cass and Josie are  , I still would have preferred equal distribution. Would work for better for me too although I'm straight female (unless they cut Cullen). I guess the equal distribution would have been bi Vivienne and bi Cullen/Solas/Blackwall. Not a bad idea, but it's up to BW and they decided it differently.

Would people have been happy even then and stopped calling female characters in DAI ugly? Nope.

The thing is, the distribution is equal once you take out the two extras made with extra resources and the year to work on them:

2 straight romances:  Cassandra and Blackwall

2 bi characters: Iron Bull and Josephine

2 gay LIs: Sera and Dorian

Cullen and Solas are bonus content.

That's not an emotional issue, I don't blame him for hating Loghain after all he's done

*buys more maps*

We'll just have to disagree on that front. The hate is fine. The letting said hate have you ditch the wardens was more of the issue. (Again though. It was perfectly understandable. It was also however a flaw).

It's fine to not like a particular character or romance due to taste.  Or execution.  But I don't think they lacked fro resources.  If they thought they lacked what was needed to do them justice, I'm sure they would have spent the extra that way.  So I'm pretty sure the romances were done as they envisioned them.

Why are women the only ones getting bonus content?

At the very least they could have made Solas bi so gay men could have an extra option.

They've always been optional content with limited resources applied to them. So its perfectly understandable to query whether how that got resource got spread led to less than ideal romance experiences.

True, that would have worked too. The 2/2/2 people were first excepting, well not with those LI's cause Cullen was announced first by mistake ^^ Of cource the more the merrier though.

They wanted people to have atleast 2 options, and they had a reason for Solas

I would have liked one of the bonus guys to be bisexual, since I'm gay and not at all into Bull and would have loved to have two acceptable choices for once, but it should have been Cullen. Solas only being into female elves makes total sense.

Then i suppose FemSheps were petty for complaing that they didn't get as many options.

And before anyone else brings up that "Race Gate" agument again i want to point out that typically in any RPG where you can choose a race(DAO, Elder Scrolls, WoW etc.) Humans and Elves are the most picked race. (Having said that thou that does seem to be changing with the number of players saying that played a Quinari.)

I'm not one of those "Cass and Josie r fugly give us hotties!" people, i'm upset that it isn't equal all across the board. Gay men have to make due with Dorian or Iron Bull. Lesbian pc's only have Josie or Sera.

Straight (Human and Elven) Players get 4.How is that fair to Straight & Gay Males & Gay Females?

I never mentioned Femshep.

I said that when you say you're not bothered by the options available, only the options available for what you perceive to be someone else, that it comes across as petty.

Mathematically, we all have the same number of options: the exact number of sideplot romances available in the game. Making about men vs. women is what makes the complaint appear petty, and I would say the same to anyone making the complaint, regardless of gender or sexuality.

It seems that everyone was so occupied to be politically correct and distribute the romances equally, that they forgot to connect them to the story.

The result: boring and meaningless idling.

How it makes sense with Solas? I'm pretty iffy about thought of romancing him cause the restriction.

It is not only women getting bonus content. EVERYONE gets this bonus content. You can romance Solas or Cullen if you like. Just make the right type of inquisitor to do so.

Cullen and Solas are bonus content.

It isn't bonus content when it's shipped with the game, they decided to put the extra dev time to finishing those romance arcs (those are the stories they wanted to tell) and that's fine, but there isn't any need to make excuses, straight women got twice as many choices as everyone else, regardless of whether or not that was the original plan.

If we don't take the "bonus content" phrase too literally, it might be easier. Its extra, in the sense it was added thanks to more time.

Also, race-gating matters. It isn't a terrible idea to take Solas out of the discussion...its a bit of a special case.

It really does make a lot of sense, for quite spoilery reasons.

I found Sera to be actually quite cute, too bad she is female only.

No. Straight women did not get more content.

My god. People need to stop saying this.

Straight women who pick up a controller to make a character did not get more content. Gay women who pick up a controller to make a character did not get more content. Straight men who pick up a controller to make a character did not get more content. Gay men who pick up a controller to make a character did not get more content. WE ALL GOT THE SAME CONTENT. Unless you didn't purchase the DLC...

The heterosexual female Dalish elf inquisitor has the most romance options. There are a lot of people who have chosen to play the heterosexual female Dalish elf. Straight men. Straight women. Gay men. Gay women.

Stop pinning this on straight women. I am a straight woman and I always play as a lesbian female or a bisexual male. The hetero fem Dalish elf option doesn't apply to my gameplaying style. And it has NOTHING TO DO with my real life gender and sexual orientation.

So stop. Just. Stop.

(Complain about hetero female dalish elves all you want - complain about them until your heart is content - but LEAVE straight women - of the REAL WORLD - out of this!)

This is beautiful logic. Everybody’s income is pretty much the same if you ignore the parts over 5000, too!

I know why Solas is elf only. I did beat the game believe it or not.

What I'm saying is why did Female Dalish elves get extra stuff? at least they should have made Cullen or Solas Bi. That dosen't fix anything for Straight Male's but at least Gay men get another option.
