My experience has nothing to do with it

It's what Bioware wants to do with the romances, they wanted to go this route with the romances

But since set sexuality is the problem as it seems why not remove it from the equation?

Most people don't find it to be a problem.

Most people play the game for story and character, not so they can play a self-insert romance. It would appear that they, and the writers, find organically-written characters with fleshed out personalities and traits to be more compelling than characters who redefine themselves according to the player's whims.

In addition, the game is capable of being more representative this way, which is something that BioWare seems to consider valuable, as do a lot of people.

In a game that is about crafting our own story? One would think that player satisfaction trumps "representation" if ask me at least with the romances

Because my question is not about what Bioware wanted to do ( as you see that changes from game to game) but about compounding possible complaints and/or precluding the possibility of satisfying more players by virtually ( as you proved) not souring the experience for any others.

Your crafting a story in Bioware's world, their characters are still the way they want them to be

Well, little representation in favour of "convenience" (which bisexuality in itself shouldn't be) isn't really all that satisifying if you ask me...

I like set sexualities, even if it means that only two characters out of a certain number of men or women will be receptive to a romance with your inquisitor. Personally, at least one identifies as someone I rarely see in games up until nowadays. Two, as much as I like Blackwall, I wouldn't want to change him either. I hear people can get over disappointments if things don't turn out in their favour. Three, romance isn't that big of a deal as the forum makes it out to be- you get forty-five minutes to an hour of cutscenes dedicated to a romance out of roughly a hundred hours of the game. A valuable hour, but try not to get too invested in it.

I'll take "the good with the bad" in this case.

I don't agree regarding what the game is about. And you are referring to your own satisfaction as "player satisfaction," and I don't believe most players feel the way you do.

In any case, I wasn't attempting to convince you (I knew that wasn't going to happen) I was explaining the answer to your question as to why making all characters playersexual wasn't seen as a solution to a problem.

He's a good villain. I think he should've gotten a cutscene.

I should really start talking to demons more. I've always had this trigger finger to just go "GO TO HELL DEMON" whenever one of them so much at looks at me.

Back on topic,

Just because "straight" men only have Seeker and Ruffles to romance hardly means that it's a lack of good romances. Gay men get Tiny and Sparkler. Lesbians get Ruffles and Buttercup. Straight women potentially get Curly, Chuckles, and Hero, and that's only if they're elves. Humans get Curly and Hero, while Qunari and Dwarves only get Hero. Bisexuals pretty much get the best deal out of everyone, but yeah. I don't see many people playing straight female Qunari/Dwarves whining about how the only character they can romance is Blackwall.

Honestly, I don't see an issue with my only party romance being Cassandra if I were to roll a straight male; if anything, I'm glad for her romance option at all. Her character's definitely one of my favorite in any BW series so far. And lesbian Inquisitors only get Sera as their party romance. I don't see a lot of people whining about that.

People care too much about romances in these games imo.
