It was hilarious, I was treading through the desert until I noticed that I'm missing my party members. I wondered what happened to them...

I just noticed that this video lags. It didn't lag when I played this part though, so it must be shadowplay acting up. Sorry about that.
I've noticed something similar to an experience I also had in Skyrim. I was running around the Hinterlands yesterday and turned for a second to see...no one. Waited. No one. Waited. Still no one behind me. Climbed up a big knoll and saw them suddenly come scrambling into view. They must have had a Union meeting for a few minutes! ![]()
Yes I have seen this also. Had it happen on the Dragon in Hinterlands. Lil ol level 12 me and the Dragon.... Uhm guys..... Guys....? I think they must have glitched in tunnel into the area as they did it once before killing the baby dragons, but then they just warped to me. Not that time though.
Not disappear but I had Dorian with me and he died in battle. As soon as the fight was finished there was a cut scene and when the cut scene ended everyone was standing and walking yet Dorian was still dead in the UI. When I fought my next battle he just randomly teleported next to me dead on the ground.
Ive had problems where my companions will refuse to climb down a cliff and leave me soloing mobs.
I had Dorian fall somehow in Valammar and I could hear him yelling repeatedly as he fell. I had no idea where he was and he was still showing as alive so I switched control over to him and then got stuck in a falling loop. It was apparently autosaving as he fell so I ended up having to load a previous save that cost me about 20 minutes of time. It worked out though because the first time through I missed an area that I found the second time.

Yeah, I had this problem with the caves in Storm Coast
In the end they always did teleport to me though. I have no idea what happened with Cassandra and Dorian over there, they just kept climbing that ladder. And Cole went totally missing, I actually forgot to check where he was ![]()
Had to use fast travel in order to reset those two climbers ![]()

I was just about to say this! It was like they found a little cavity in the wall, all bundled inside, then tried walking through the wall to get to the inquisitor! So I decided I'd be one of the companions, and quickly run to the inquisitor, then do the same thing with another companion. Only, whenever I changed to a different character they'd all hurry back to the same little cavity. This was pretty early in game, when I hadn't quite grasped following, and the tactical view. In hindsight, I could have just set them all to go to a specific location at once lol
Most annoying was when it happened to my archer Inquisitor while I was playing other party members. I needed him to pick a lock - he was the only rogue in the party - and he had fallen under the map on some platform under the Deep Roads. Trying to suicide to port back up didn't work. ._.
I think the only suddenly-absent follower moment I've had was when I was fighting darkspawn on a narrow walkway and Varric launched himself off the side and into the black abyss below with that evasive arrow thing. He belly-flopped out of the sky a little bit later and took falling damage for it. Sadly, he has yet to craft the tale of what he experienced down there, let alone confess Bianca's secret portal-gun ability.
So far, no one on my team has developed an unreasonable attachment to ladders though.
