Swiping the floor with Knight Enchanter on Nightmare currently. Dragons are a cake using Sera.

Mage has got to be the easiest class to complete Nightmare with, on any spec. Necro in particular is much stronger because the monsters you can resurrect is much stronger. 

 

Just defeat the hardest monster in the game, the shitty party AI, and you will do fine.

Before Skyhold isn't very hard as a mage. Just go straight for Fire Rune and then grab Barrier and use a lightning or ice staff so you're not completely helpless against fire immune mobs.

Yea having your own personal elite pride demon on nightmare is rather hilarious

Usually better if you get a cold staff to go with fire since fire resistant mobs tend to be weak to cold so you can make up a little of the lost damage.

It's already happened but only if you're on PC though. I don't see the point of playing Nightmare if you're just gonna cheat.
