You don't need to recover your schematics. If you don't like an upgrade you put into the armor simply replace it.

Very confused by this post. You don't lose schematics when making an item, you just lose the resources. You should be able to make 10 versions of the 'same' schematic for armor or weapons? Or is there some armor schematic bug or something?

You actually loose the schematics for the are-quality armors...and with it the opportunity to craft epic armors

As far as we know, there isn't an opportunity to craft epic armor in the first place. You can only craft a specific armor set once. Doing so unlocks the next tier of armor (up to the tier 2 alternate skins). I'm assuming the reason for this is because two sets of the same armor are identical. Unlike single player, the material used for crafting has absolutely no bearing on the finished product (for armor). So there's no reason to craft more than a single set especially since, as you pointed out, you can't actually destroy or salvage the armor you've already got.
So, unless someone finds an ultra rare schematic/armor as a drop, the T2 alternate skins are as far as you can currently progress with armor crafting.

I think some people had the luck of unlocking rare armor while crafting the regular tier 2 armor. If that's really the case, then yes you would "lose" your chance to unlock a rare armor if you didn't get it with the 4 tier 2 schematics.
On the other hand, it's been known that there will be other schematics, some might even be rewarded for completing weekend challenges. I'm guessing 95% of the schematics aren't available yet and will be unlocked over time (DLC, patches, weekend challenge, etc.). Why else would we have 200+ iron/drufallo hide and no recipee to use it?
That being said, the "rare" armor is probably one of those schematics that will be unlocked over time, so no need to panick just yet.

That's some serious misinformation you're putting down there. T2 armor is already rare on most classes, besides the few classes like Katari where their T1 is already a blue rare and their T2 is Purple. I have not once seen anyone say that they unlocked special armor by crafting the regular schematics that are available to everyone. Crafting is not RNG, the schematic you have is pre-defined.

I never implied I was certain, please read my previous post again. Happy to know what I heard wasn't true after all. This makes a lot more sense. Thanks!

I agree that additional armor will probably be unlocked via events, DLC, or rare drops.
Pfft, Conchobar beat me to it. Just consider this a +1 to what they said.

New schematics for what? You have all of the armors in the game. What do you want to do? Recraft them? Why? The materials used to craft armors have LITERALLY 0 affect on the stats of the armor. Whether you use 15 iron or 15 silverite for the armor makes ZERO difference. Once you craft an armor, congratulations, you never have to craft it again because it is a static, defined piece of equipment. That is why once you make the armor the schematic "disappears", its to stop morons from wasting their crafting materials on the same piece of armor. You can modify their upgrade slots with upgrade components, but those can be INFINITELY replaced with a new upgrade component should you want to change that.
It's best not to think of the armors as "equipment". Think of them as upgrades for the class. Once you spend materials to unlock that upgrade you...want to spend materials to unlock that same upgrade again?
To reiterate, using different materials to craft armors has ZERO affect on the armors stats. Each class has 8 armors, the default tier 1, 3 recolors of tier 1, the default tier 2 and 3 recolors of tier 2. THATS IT. There are no tier 3 armors in the multiplayer yet. If you've made all of the armors for whatever class, neato, you can now have a choice between 3 of the best armor for them based on your preference for color scheme. That is your benefit.

how old is the game exactly? They don't build the game based on those few people who have nothing else to do but play 24/7.. can't expect content to keep up to that demand either.

Seems to be the trend these days. Pay to win and release unfinished games
Implying that Dragon Age with multiplayer is an unfinished game
