All that's keeping me from getting DA:I is that I keep seeing how bad the controls are for the PC. Like being unable to move characters with the mouse, no auto-attack option, bad tactical camera and no easy way to loot.

I mean I heard about upcoming patches but do any of them have to do with fixing the PC problems?

Whats with the controls ? I have been playing it for 40 hours straight and not had any problems with it .Is this some kind of bandwagon created by pro BSN whiners ?

Do a web search. Be prepared for seared eyeballs, though, there is a lot of strong feeling.

A lot depends on what class you're playing, in my opinion. Playing melee with keyboard/mouse is extremely clunky feeling and frustrating for me. I'm having a lot better time of it playing a ranged character on my second playthrough and actually enjoying combat now. The tactical camera controls are, in my opinion, similarly clunky and you can't zoom out nearly far enough to actually get a decent view of the battlefield.

None of this makes the game unplayable for me, and I really enjoy the game in spite of those flaws, but it IS really disappointing that the keyboard/mouse controls are so clunky feeling when they were pretty nice in DA:O and DA2.

I must admit the PC controls are a bit wonky in my opinion. (All right, they are a mess to be truthful...)

-The "hold both mouse buttons to move" function of previous titles is gone. Gets a bit annoying when used to this from the other games.

-As stated by previous posters, the removal of the auto attack after targeting and clicking for basic attacks is likely the most annoying control issue as again this was a standard from previous titles.

-The keyboard and mouse re-map function is some of the worst I have ever experienced. No support for mapping additional mouse buttons? Is it not nearly 2015?

I admit I rarely come to check out the forums, and never post on them, but I am gravely disappointed in the game thus far by these three oversights, even more so than the involuntary cutscene framerate cap on cut scenes. While that is for a different thread, I should not have to "de-gimp" a few lines of code on a brand new game for a brand new, custom built gaming machine. If I wanted 22-42 FPS (as per ingame benchmark), I'd attempt to play it on my now 8 year old dual core, 4gig RAM 9800GTX 256k x32 based system rather than this i7, quad SSD, GTX 970-4gig, 16gig RAM, x64 monster I put together specifically for this game.

As a long time Bioware fan who purchased titles strictly because Bioware made them, I am a bit frustrated with this one.

I hope however that in true Bioware fashion, such issues shall be remedied quickly.

Then again perhaps this is my punishment for enjoying DAII just as much as Origins...

<EDIT to reflect a misstype- I've a 970, not 980>
