What part of the game you would have done differently?

And that's it.

Haven't checked, but isn't this in the game manual? It's in your files somewhere.
The only thing the manual explains that the tutorial doesn't, is what the icons on the dialogue wheel mean. Neither of them touch upon mechanics other than "Press T for tactical camera. Use WQED to move around. Hold R or LMB to do a basic attack".

I would have added the mirror where you can alter your appearance in game...it would have fixed the accent bug switch

Ok, here it is
- More ability slots and tactics
- Better auto attack for melee characters, especially dw rogues
- Leliana should be romanceable
- Tool tips on abilities when you hover over them. At the start of the game if I just started as a mage, how am I supposed to what Long Shot or PAyback Strike is?
- CUSTOMIZABLE ATTRIBUTES!!! HOLY LORD ! I need more mana but no, that simple dexpectation from an RPG is denied me.
- Better face animations. Cassandra's are ghastly.
- Tactical camera controls mapped to mouse too
- No handholding of a druffalo across the forest meadow

mainly two things
-get rid off the action mode, many flaws are connected to this little decision (but i understand why they did it)
-a pc friendly ui (when will developers learn to grab the money from the pc community you have to support the strenghts of this platform)

UI with focus towards inventory management to be much better implimented
More time spent on refining the combat especially to AI, generally I don't feel the tac camera interface is good on the PC.
More time spent on increasing armour model numbers and a better colour customisation system.
Less time on fetch quests ![]()

I would've had more of a reunion with the three Origins party members if you get them all in Skyhold at once. I held off on the Grey Wardens mission hoping two of them would have a discussion on what happened between them at the end of the first game. Unless this happens and I'm just missing it.
Inventory limitations are never good if you ask me, a storage container would be nice, an unlimited inventory would be better. I've played so many rpgs in my life and I'm just sick of managing my items, please by all means dumb this down.
I would've liked Hawke's default face to be given a little more attention, as they are they look like crappy approximations you'd make in another game's character creator (which I guess is exactly what they are). Default female especially, who I still think is the most attractive character, if she got the upgrade Morrigan an Leliana got, yowza.
Needs more Oghren. Also Merril. More appearances in general but those two especially for me. Also The Architect should've been involved.
Stop interrupting banter. I'm looking at you requisitions officer after I fast travel.
Another story mission or two would've been nice. Finale mission was a bit of a letdown, not Priority: Earth bad, but you kinda just steamroll him, I find myself holding back just so I can hear him talk more. Actually your encounter with him in DA2 was better I'd say. Really the Suicide Mission may have just ruined all future finales to be honest.
Nothing else I can think of now, and those are just wishes really. The game just leaves me wanting more, which is a good problem to have.

I would have move "In hushed Whipsers" towards the end of the game instead of the beginning.
This mission was awsome until the end who was a bit lacking to me. Thus, those changes would had a much bigger impact i think.

I'd have made it so that you fail to close the breach early on, and the attack on Haven hits you when your down. The breach got resolved too quickly for me.
I'd also have cut out one of the non-essential areas and made an extra story mission in it's place.

In terms of game mechanics, there is no reason to be building up your INQ forces or improving your keep, or taking over territory. Which seems odd, as that is what you spend the game doing. The last "chapter" of the game should have taken into account all the things you had been doing up to that point, maybe a Corphy counter attack against your weaker holdings with factions or cities being wiped out... or something, anything really.
The only other things I would change would be UI, control, and game balance related. I'm still hoping those get smoothed out in a patch.

This is a big issue, seeing the people who modded DA:Origins to make Hawke present in Lothering did a much better job of recreating that character.

I would have made the combat more tactical based by bringing back tactics from DAO.
Bring back the attributes system. For instance mages fall too easily. This is easily counterred by putting points in constitution.
I see absolutely no logic in class locked gear. The way DAO had it was fine, each piece of armor or weapon had a reuqirement, either high magic or high strength etc. but any character could use it if they meet the requirements. It is basically simplification for the sake of it. It also removes the choice to wear whatever armor you want for your char because you are locked into a particular group. In DAO a dual wielding could use heavy armor, becuase they are close up just like the warriors and could take just as much damage as a result. But you cannot in DAI for no apparent reason other than the dev's don't want you to.
I personally hate the upgrade abilities, I think they are a waste of a good point. This goes for several perks as well, which seam to be of questionable use, I would replace them with other abilites. A prime example of this is the inquisiton perks, a perk to unlock dialogue options, a perk that gives you schematics, really? They should have thought of more useful perks than those.
Bring back skills like speechcraft and runecraft, this would be very handy epecially for the new crafting system. (See Below)
There is no need for tiers because the actual quality of the armor should rely solely on the materials you use to craft it.
I realize that to some degree it does, but for some reason a tier 2 armor has 15 slots for a material and a tier 1 armor has 5, so you get 15x the bonus from the material instead of 5x.
This is insane, they should all use the same amount. You simply counter it by making some materials harder to find than others. Further more make armor craft and weapon craft some of the skills, higher skills allow access to use higher end materials. Each skill has level requirement, therefore you cannot unlock top level armor crafting skill until level 15, so you cannot use dragon bone to craft armor until then.
Speaking of materials, basically, there are too many of them. We do not need 30 different materials we can craft armor from, 1/3 of that would do. Especially since there is so much overlap as to what each material does.
Which shcematic you use would therefore be cosmetic.
We also should be able to craft jewelry, hopefully via a skill like mentioned above.
Finally there are several items that are basically useless. A prime example is the ring of mighty blow, a ring wich only effects one perk. The only reason I would ever give my character something like that is if I have nothing better to give him/her. And there are a lot of things that could be better, guard generation, armor class, health bonus, etc. I'm sure they exist, but let's cut down on some of the clutter.
Finally, we need auto attack back.
I would also mention the invetory screens and general UI for the PC but I do not think it's necessary.

Have a proper tactical view with easy navigation over the battlefield, full AI tactical options,
A proper skill bar. 8 slots is ridiculous.
Storage
In game customization/barber/whatever you want to call it i don't want to have to start over each time if i figure out my Inquisitor is ugly.
Give Sera some actual character growth
Make the endgame interesting. Nothing really happened no epic build up no nothing. "We don't know where Corypheus is"...."Mwahaha here i am at your front door!" and then you get to fight him and well that's it. Having to follow him to the Fade to stop his evil plan or something would have been interesting or at least some sort of epic final battle where all those agents and things i went about acquiring for the Inquisition count for something. The build up to this unstoppable enemy and the last fight is nothing.
More variety in armor sets.
Make taking Keeps interesting. Pre release they were talking about you can take keeps through peaceful means or sometimes force and then you have forces there to control etc. They don't do anything. They don't mean anything. You barely feel like you are in control of an area. I was thinking like locals would demand my attention at the Keep and give me quests to rebuild the economy or something since I'm supposed to be in control. But no you get a keep and then it does nothing. It's just a glorified camp that takes a bit longer to find the exit from. WHY IS THERE NOT EVEN A STORAGE CHEST IN THE KEEP.

on PC:
-kept the control system of DA2 or returned to DA:O (or at least marketed the changes more before launch). yes, some didnt like the control scheme of DA2.. but i certainly didnt see an overwhelming amount of requests to abandon the cRPG nature of those games and go to what we have now.
- kept the "gamey" companion favor system. at least then we had a gauge of how our companions felt about us. i get that the character cards changed as we made decisions.. but with the "gamey" system your rep was right there in front of you, and there was no question where you stood with the NPC.
- kept the AI tactic customization from the previous games.. most liked the system as is, and if they wanted it changed.. i would wager most would have preferred a return to DA:O.
- made ALL vendors recruitable as agents to skyhold if we wanted (all is in caps for a certain vendor which shall not be revealed for spoiler reasons).. that way once we discovered the vendor and developed a good rep with them (maybe a quest or something) we only needed to travel to skyhold to purchase their items.
other than those issues and a couple of bugs, this is Bioware's best game since ME1 in my opinion. there is a LOT to like here.. but the negatives ARE frustrating, no matter how much the fanboys want to dismiss them.

So craft gear that gives you willpower.
Managing your attributes is done by crafting in this game.
Or pick passives that give you willpower.

improving your keep is a cosmetic extra thing in the game.. i dont see this as a bad thing.. having housing in a single player game is cool i think.
regarding taking territory.. you have to do some of it to advance the story... also depending on your choices in the game, NPCs can leave your party (happened to me)..
not to mention some of the inquisition perks are pretty awesome.. which, again, you dont necessarily have access to if you dont do the side content. case in point.. for my first playthrough i just wanted to finish the main story as i was having fun with it and only did some of the side content.. consequently i was only able to focus on one of the perk trees and wasnt able to touch much of the rest, with the exception of a couple perks here and there.
and there are plenty of choices you have to make in the main story that effect the rest of the game.. one of them i would say is on par with the ashley/kaiden choice from ME1.

I would have cut hinterland by half.
Would have brought back the inventory from DAO.
Less fetch quests.
Tactic system. Oh so much this, the combat just isn't as fun without being able to set AI tactics.
Would have stretched out the Orlesian Civil war to be longer than just one mission.

Few things.
I wish the combat was more action oriented, as it is right now the combat looks and sounds like it's action oriented but in reality it's an MMO style combat. It just doesn't FEEL good when my character swings a giant hammer that splits the earth in two yet only ends up taking away a fraction of the enemies health.
With the story I would change the way the Inquisitor progresses through the story, I just feel like things went way too fast, you go from being the most hated person on the planet to a hero everyone is ready to sacrifice their life for in a matter of hours, there is just absolutely no worthwhile build up what so ever.

Bound by Flame is the most recent that comes to my mind.

A working tactical cam with actual mouse edge scrolling.
Mouse bindings
Level-scaling. I haven't completed the game yet, but I have abandoned a couple play throughs now because I keep running into areas that are just not challenging anymore even on nightmare. I think I am going to have to just finish this next run out even if I am just slogging through easy fights at the end.

Old tactics back - no idea why this was removed
Better level scaling - I like doing all the side content.. but at this point everything is lower level than me and it's not as fun anymore. Which is pretty disenheartening since i have SO much left to do but i feel i can't since i will just end up shooting myself in the foot by making myself overpowered.
Better tactical mode - It's clunky as hell, why does the cursor get stuck on the enviorment!?
Less fetch quests, more optional dungeons - I don't mind them much and enjoy doing them but would rather have fewer but deeper quests.
A storage chest - for all those damn rings and stuff i don't really wanto throw away
Better hairstyles - seriosly... especially for Qunari, atleast one option with long hair would be nice
Not locking most equipment to class - I hated this change in DA2, i miss my strength based Rogue from DA:O that used medium armor and Swords
Probably more, but this is what comes to mind

- Harding romance
- Old tactics menu
- Faster mounts
- Different mounts have different stats
- Option to be a city elf
- Make elves less scrawny
- Ability to edit face post-CC
- Dual-wield warriors
- Ability to chose which attributes to level up
Some things that would be nice but difficult to implement:
- Characters notice certain physical attributes (people shouldn't talk about my hornless Qunari as though he has horns, and Bull should notice if you're a redhead)
- Different body shapes, or perhaps class-dependent physiques (i.e. warriors would be more muscular than mages and rogues)
- Voice pitch slider
- "Age slider" -- wouldn't change appearance, but would make characters react to your age
