Less splash damage from enemy melee characters.  It makes melee DPS too much of a pain

1. Storage in Skyhold

2. Option to change appearance of the Inquisitor post CC (Hair, Make up, Skyhold outfit)

-> Proper hair/beard options

3. Longer Main Story. The game seems to be 80% no-replay-value pseudo side quests. -> More tragedy and tough decisions. (DA:O did this very good)

 or

4. More Quality than Quantity in terms of Content. -> Less and smaller Areas fiiled with better sidequests and puzzles with a higher replay value.

5. Better controls for PC as mentioned by others.

6. Useful Tactical View ( in some areas the overview given by it is minimal, mostly due to map/or tactical view design)

7. More tactical combat. As reference DA:O where enemies had specific abilites which made them extremly dangerous and you had to adapt/use ur abilities to counter theirs

8. Actual sieges/fights for castles

9. Proper Dungeons

10. Non-Combat abilities like persuasive powers/ pick locking. like in fallout (new vegas) and DA:O

11. Being able to spend the attribute points as i want. (Auto button for those who don't care just like in DA2)

i'll stop for now :P

Things the game did well:

Characters: Had a lot of fun talking to my companions :)
-> Funny Banters and Cutscenes/Companion Quests (the only good sidequests)

Most parts of the mainstory

Crafting

Trials: It was nice to punish some of the villains. Is wish there were more of them :/

Graphics: especially art design of landscapes, armor and characters. It's the most beautiful DA even considering the release date of the predecessors

  • Better rewards. Most quest rewards are pathetic, and you're forced to rely on random drops. Speaking of which..
  • Better random drop tables. I should not kill a dragon only to get left with a bare handful of body parts.
  • Less restrictions. Get rid of racial restrictions on armor - for random drops I can almost see it, but for schematics? I have a smith at Skyhold who's making this stuff for me, and you're telling me he can't alter it to fit my character? Especially when you can view it on your character in the crafting screen? It's limited just for the sake of being limited.
  • Speaking of restrictions, level restricted items? Lose 'em. If I'm lucky enough to find something powerful, them you'd better damn well let me use it, especially when I can craft something with roughly similar stats several levels "early".
  • Fix the economy. Give the merchants better items, even out the currency, and make player's item sale prices a tad better than "sleazy pawn shop".
  • Storage at Skyhold. Really, really boneheaded, especially in a game where the RNG can and will dump items on you that are several levels above you, and the level progress is glacial.

Aside from the phoned in PC controls & interface, I think the game would really benefit from some better initial pacing. The balance between proper content and padding junk seems much better once you reach Skyhold. The game doesn't put its best foot forward at all.

1) Combat- It was really easy on normal, yet with the lack of zoom out and dumb AI, I would think hard/nightmare/friendly damage would be really frustrating and tedious.

2) I agree with others.  Please reduce the quantity of side quests and replace with quality.

However, It was a fantastic game, and I really enjoyed it.  Thank you Bioware.

I would have made the combat more responsive. Atm, it's very lackluster and feels unpolished.

Tactical view doesn't always work for example and it has it's problems:

- Can't target arches on top of the tower, because I have to take the cursor trough waypoint which is climbable for the character. So I have to go ALLL the way around for my ranged character to target the archers. I

- Cursor also have limits how far it can go, this is a bit stupid as I have to go into the game view, walk the party closer, THEN I can target the enemies.

- No companion behauvior list? Why? :o

- I can't target some targets for some odd reason. I hope this gets fixed. :P

I would much rather have game completely turn based or action based than this mix of both crap.

You shouldn't put this in the no spoilers section if want feedback and suggestions really. Should go in the spoiler section so won't be restricting people from making more detailed and better in depth replies and suggestions.

  • Storage chest.
  • Better PC controls.
  • Better handling of valuables and research items.
  • Actually making use of the stronghold plus it's upgrades instead of them both completely pointless.
  • Making a lot more use of influence and forces in both plot and gameplay.
  • Vastly more choices and consequences put back in game after Bioware removed them despite showing such before was released.
  • The larger battles needed to be much more epic.
  • The endgame needed a LOT more effort to avoid being so disappointing and underwhelming.
  • Vastly less broken quest triggers especially ones on main quests and companion quests.
  • Romances needed to be more equal across genders and sexual preferences, not just in quantity but also in content variation.
  • Sandal in the game since he was supposed to be in Orlais and is a very much loved character with an unresolved story to be told.
  • More areas around Orlais to explore plus places in Fereldan to explore which was half the world map on war table but nothing much if anything on that side of the map we could actually visit and explore.
  • Enhanced tactical camera.
  • Adding actual risk to your companions and much more consequences to story when make bad decisions within the plot.
  • Enhanced/more tactics options in character screens.
  • Improving of the plot branching based on major decisions.
  • Vastly better designed facial hair and no more mr potato head hair like DA2/DAI which also had ****** poor quality hair.
  • More female hair choices and hair choices in general.
  • More armour types.
  • Not less (optional) sidequests, just more/additional quality deeper quests added in general alongside them.

I am sure if took some time I could think of more but that list is just off the top of my head. Despite generally this being a fairly decent game I have a feeling TW3 is going to blow it out the water when comes out just because of so much wasted/squandered potential in this one when could of been amazing instead of just fairly decent due to lack of effort and cutting previously shown features and content from Bioware.

More engaging and complex combat. Current one is extremely boring.

Tactical Camera:  Do better next time.  Make it pan waaaaaaay farther out.

Loot:  The loot in this game is absolute trash.  Make it like Baldur's Gate II where there is a good chance you will be rewarded with unique loot.

Quests:  Less fetch more quality.

K/M controls:  When I right click on loot make my character go get the GD loot.''

K/M controls:  Why is there no select all hotkey?  Why can't I make a box with my cursor to select certain characters?

better how?

Better camera work. Because it's so distracting to the eye.

Objects blocking your view point blank range. Terrible camera work in combat.

It's as if they hired a cinematographer, but no director. And Madonna showed up and said, "Hey guys, I can direct."

At which point everything fell apart.

Of course, she gets fired, only to be replaced by Nicolas Cage. Which really only makes matters worse, because he can't direct either.

Having finished:

Loot, stinks. Crafting I would hope supplements the world instead every character had crafted weapons and armor except my Mage's staff and iron bull's armor. I feel stupid when it is better to pick weeds and rocks to get good stuff rather than kill dragons.

Some sort of level scaling on the main quests. I was badly over leveled by the time I got to the meat and I blew through them super easy -- and that wasn't grinding away I basically skipped 2 entire regions of the game.

Difficulty overall. The game in the Hinterlands seemed very hard, way too much of the rest of it seemed way too easy as it felt like you could out level a lot of the regions very quickly.

I swear Bioware hasn't gotten loot right since BG2.  KOTOR, ME1-3, DA1-3 all have boring loot.  Even NWN had pretty boring loot iirc.

Storage

A dog

CLEAN THE DAMNED KEEP UP! For Maker's sake they keep walking around with bricks and chandeliers and assorted broken furniture laying around with walls half down. The Inquisition can rebuild bridges far away but can't even repair a wall or clear out a few bricks?

Refine the search so you can turn common stuff off (ladders, elfroot) or get a different tone.

Use a different pawn for the infinite gather resources quests on the War Table vs the one time ones you haven't done yet and also a way to remark a war pawn as unread after you've looked at it (ie some way to mark 'Hey I want to go back to this one).

Save/Import face structure.

Separate out items only to sell for cash vs ones to turn in for research or requisitions. The latter two types should be more quest items, albeit minor ones, IMHO.

Better item sorting (ie show/hide tier 1, sort by tier, sort by value etc)

I think these are all fairly doable and not unreasonable things.

No, because bad stories are the trend now. I'm challenging the premise that Bioware's strength is good stories because their recent history suggests that this reputation, no matter how rightly earned, is no longer deserved.

Hmm ?

Did you play the full game of Inquistion?

The Orlais chapter for example ...

I mean forgive me - I agree with you fully that Bioware has neglected the hell out of many things in Inquisition! And you are right, the story is lacking at all sides ... They could have done a much, MUCH better job here - Even though I think that many aspects of their story telling in Inquisition were still above average or top notch.

But even ifyou tell me you don't like the story or stories told in Inquisition ...

I really think this time around they put a crapton of work and time in other areas which simply leads to the fact, that you have less development time left to focus on for example the story. But that does not mean that Bioware have forgotten how to tell one?

Do you catch me ?

And ... I mentioned Orlais, because I thought that many aspects were beautifully crafted. I like the tastedfulness of the cinematics, the scenery and the characters they created for this story arc, as well as other things ... like the whole voice acting of the entire game ...

But hey. if you did not like it - It is your prerogative! But tell me at least why ...

That's a common problem for 3rd person games btw

I swear Bioware hasn't gotten loot right since BG2.  KOTOR, ME1-3, DA1-3 all have boring loot.  Even NWN had pretty boring loot iirc.

Is the loot fun and varied in that game or what? Tons of unique weapons, armor, accessories, each with its own backstory and lore. And the legendary equipment like Carsomyr, Celestial Fury, Crom Faeyr, Ring of Gaxx are actually legendary and epic in lore, functionality and usage. Overpowered shouldn't be a concern. That is the point of making them hard to obtain. The closest they've come to epic loot since BG2 is the Vigilance sword from Awakening, and the Widow/Revenant/Claymore from ME2. And apparently none in DA:I.

And let me hoard the unique equipment like I could back in BG2 and all other games, Bioware! Gimme that storage chest!

Others have mentioned many of the things that I would have done differently already so I'll just add one other. I would greatly overhaul the use of power and agents to show that the antagonist is an actual threat. As it is, he never once feels like one and you don't ever get a sense that anyone is even bothered by him.

I would have made power more valuable by having to allocate resources to maps to prevent keeps from being overtaken by enemy forces, and areas being destroyed. I remember hearing them talk about this as a feature, that you'd have to allocate resources to avoid losing access to areas however I am on the final plot mission and I have not seen it in game.

I think it'd make all those exploration areas feel a lot less mundane and pointless if you were frantically trying to keep order in others, by acquiring power in some. That way it is a constant balancing act between maintaining order. It also creates a constant feeling of the level of threat imposed by the villain.

I'd also be open to scrapping one of the exploration areas entirely to have more plot missions, especially ones that involve the antagonist to further build him as a threat. He feels like a Saturday morning cartoon villain in how inept he is.
