I'm glad we got dwarves back as a playable race, and I'm glad we got a few dwarf members of the Inquisition (Varric, Harding, and Dagna).

But a lot was still missing. Maybe I was spoiled by Origins, but I want to see Orzammar again. Or Kal Shirok. Or just more immersion in "traditional" dwarf culture.

The only dwarf companion we've had over the last two games has been a beardless Andrastian. No traditional dwarves, no female dwarves, no dwarf romance, nothing.

So, here's my wishlist (in no particular order). Some of it is easy DLC stuff, some of it is more involved:

1.) A REAL dwarf companion. Male or female, doesn't matter to me. Someone who was heavily involved in true underground dwarven culture, but now lives on the surface (such as Oghren and Sigrun). Someone worships the Stone or venerates the Paragons, and upholds traditional dwarven attitude and virtues.

2.) Romance options for dwarves. These don't have to be full companions. Finishing Scout Harding's romance, for example, would be great. (Why does that end suddenly? Did someone drop the ball? Is it a bug?)

3.) Dwarven armor. DAO showed us a few interesting designs for armor from the dwarves (such as the standard dwarven plate and the more jagged Legion of the Dead armor). Let me craft (or find or buy) armor like that again.

4.) Skyhold Customization: Dwarven throne and decor. This is minor, but would be nice. I can have dwarven banners and a bed, but not statues or a throne.

5.) A living dwarf-focused location. The dwarven ruins scattered about are cool, but I want to visit and interact with a living dwarven community again (like Orzammar).

That's it for now. If you've got any suggestions for dwarven DLC in Inquisition, or just want to express your support, let me know! Thanks for reading.

I always support more dwarf additions IN DA:I! however I'd like to add something too that for new character edition how about a dwarf from tevinter. that's a lifestyle rarely touched in this franchise it would be very good to explore

I want to read a book about a major dwarven character, and have a big dwarven plot. I don't think there's a such thing as "real" dwarves.

I would love too as I think they do as well, but let give them time to fix the current game first. Surely Dragon Age doesn't end with Inquisition.

I'm curious about the Harding romance as well. I doubt it's a bug, though, and more meant to test the waters.

Cullen's initial bit in Origins should make us hopeful for the future when it comes to dwarves, IMO. Not really on the same level as Harding in terms of flirtation, but still.

My wishlist? Make mounted dwarves a thing that the devs at least pretend they considered for more than 2 seconds. The stirrups literally just stretch up to the dwarf's legs and it looks god awful.

I adore that beardless Andrastian, but I do agree with all of this.

I'd love to see a dwarf from Ozammmar (or Kal-Sharok!) who doesn't decide the surface is the best thing ever the moment they get there. I played my noble dwarf Warden as missing Orzammar terribly in spite of everything, and I'd love to see an NPC who felt the same way. Or maybe a Kalna - haven't seen any of those, since I don't think we can really count Bianca.

*shamelessly necroes the thread*

All the OP's suggestions look great. OK, the devs did manage to produce a DLC devoted to dwarves by now- like an underground extension of the Hissing Wastes- but it's not the same as revisiting Orzammar (unlikely given that no city is really visited in DAI other than a tiny portion of downtown Val Royeaux) or some "living dwarven community," as the OP puts it. Even the Dalish at least get a tiny clan "settlement" (of, like, 3 people) in a corner of the Exalted Plains. It's a bit off-putting that dwarven existence seem to manifest only either as ruins or as scattered, more-or-less assimilated surfacers... or as carta thugs to be killed... despite having a huge presence in the Underdar- I mean, Deep Roads.

Who knows though. Given that DA3 has a main storyline directly connected to a DA2 DLC, maybe DA4 will be directly connected to Descent somehow. That'd be a profoundly new move...
