I'm at an area where a cave is located, and can't interact with the door, no "X" or lock button. Do I have to get something and get back later on, or is there another way to get to the rest of the map? It's the left side, down low if you follow the coast all the way from the first camp.

If there is a trigger somewhere else, can someone tell me in what region without being too specific (avoid spoilers)

Per the Prima hint guide this area isn't accessible until after you go to Skyhold. Sorry but there was no other way to provide the info without saying this.

Its possible to get it open later. There is another locked one in the forest areas of the coast, but its related to astrothingys and has several lights (depending how many astrothingys you have solved)

You can access it after doing an operation on the war table.
The operation shows up after you're level 16.

Ok, thanks for the multiple responses; I have reached Skyhold and now level 11 or 12; was going back to earlier areas to trace back some quests; will move along and come back later.

 

Those astrathingy are the only thing I can't get around to do; so boring.  Plus that ambient sound when you do them makes my teeth grind.

Been in Skyhold for awhile, should I continue with main quest?
