Fora good span of 6 or more levels I have been using axes with my SnS warrior. hoping and looking for a longsword that can match... after looting everything I have come across, good longswords never drop, and I can't find any better crafting schematics either... what is the deal?

And a side note, Why do all the better shields look like crap compared to the warden shield? I'm sticking with the warden shield even if it is not as good. Can't stand seeing my arms poking through the shield on my back when I run.

I'd like to raise my voice on this topic as well.

 

It really feels like the mid-game loot tables are spectacularly devoid of decent or good longswords. At level 15 the only halfway decent longsword I've found is a grey level 13 sword sold in the Western Approach.

 

Loot drops, meanwhile, are EXTREMELY rare, and the ONLY blue longsword drop I've had in 20 hours was a level 8 templar sword, far under level. The others I've gotten were grey and level 9 or 10 at best. In short: useless.

 

Everything else I get tons of, lost count how many daggers and bows I've gotten, but longswords all suck.

 

In the early game this was not an issue, there was plenty of longswords, but it really feels like mid game the loot tables are practically devoid of longswords.

Probably trying to force us to craft...oh look...another MMO thing shoehorned in.

I don't mind crafting, in fact I like it.

The problem I have is that I have to find the schematics for decent stuff.

Around level 15 I can't find anything that's above level 13.

Loot in general isn't lacking. I get TONS of loot. Just no bloody longswords worth anything.

 

I'm loaded with blue/purple staffs and daggers though. Will never want for those. I'll be using purple daggers as disposable murderknifes... but longsword, nope.

 

As for crafting, the same goes for schematics. Bloody hard to find some decent sword schematics. I think I'll have to resort to savescumming for the dwarven longsword schematics.

 

That said, crafting is pretty awesome in DAI. Just need the bloody schematics.

Longswords are 2-handed weapons, so if you're using a shield you wouldn't be able to use a longsword

 

Oh right... I forgot, Bioware keeps making them 1-handed weapons
