If they had more than a million testers for the QA process, playing on thousands of different system configurations, they might have been more thorough. I don't think any comparatively small QA team is ever going to be able to stress test quite as efficiently as the unwashed masses.

Hey...I shower every day! :(

didnt say this, just said when they cant give exact informations everything will be construed to their disadvantage. what will happen? the tactical cam needs more work so it isnt in the patch - but you promised to fix the controls. the patch is in QA - but you promised a patch soon. they just cant win.

and no game is released complete nowadays, when you dont want to have the risk of a buggy game dont preorder it or buy it at release, simple as that. its not ok but meanwhile everybody should know this but people preorder no matter what again and again (and even buy early access and kickstarters) and whining after that in the forums. would the mayority of people start to wait a few month and buy the gamer cheaper and finished the industry would stop this behaviour, but gamers still riding the hype train, they just get what they deserve.

There is no reason for them win. They are serving us, our money. They should please us and take all kinds of criticism. You can't make everybody happy but they can satisfy the majority.

I don't pay my mind to what happens nowadays. If it is on the shelves then I expect it to be 100% working. I'm able to understand some bugs, but obvious ones like broken and glued arms of male elves are beyond my tolerance.

Actually everything is better with a controller on PC while playing DA:I. Anyone who claims playing with M/KB is in any way better is just flat out lying.

Subjective experience. I can almost hit every button on my keyboard blind, yet when having to play using 4 color-coded buttons I fail more often than I'd like to admit. :( Yes, it takes practice and since I never owned a console I'm missing that. There is a dilemma for me thugh: Can I enjoy a game while (mis)using it for training? I wanna have fun with DAI, not work on my controller skills.

Oh and there is one thing that I generally don't like with the pad: Camera movement. With the mouse I can look around as fast as I can move my hand. With a controller this is not the case. I crank the stick all the way to one side and the camera moves as fast as the controller / sensibility setting allows, which is usually a lot slower than with mouse.

Every game that offers some advantage for keeping a good overview therefore feels kinda punished by controller input, imho and according to my experience. Take for instance the Batman games. You'd normally think that this game demands controller input. I can see that, but I'm actually much better in the fights using mouse and keyboard because I'm able to keep my surroundings and enemies in view much more efficient.

Just my 2 cents. I'm not at all opposed to play games with gamepad, just not used to it and I simply prefer mouse and keyboard, because I played with it for ~22 years.

Ok no patch yet.  Even though the game went gold October 30 and has been released since November 18...

Why no update though?  Why not a list of what is being fixed?  Why the communications black-out on the official forums?

but because there is no chance to win only to loose there is no reason to communicate at all ;)

you can expect what you want, but reality will kick your expectations in the butt :D and the only thing that will change this is a change in your behaviour as consumer because you vote with your money and not what you write in the forums.

When it comes to game industry voting with the money has died a long time ago.

Writing on the forum is one of the few remaining options.

Where is patch, where is my patch, where is my fix, where is fix? Another day, another disappointment.

that's the worst thing to do.

They release the patch, they go on break for the week-end.  Oops.  There's a critical issue.  The game is worst than before.  The AI is totally gone, ennemies are passive...   Sorry, have to wait for Monday to get it fixed.

Better release it on Tuesday morning, that way if something goes wrong, you can fix it by Wednesday.

Oh, and if you think that because it's a big company these kind of things can't happen because of serious QA testing... just look at Microsoft and the many mistakes they did with Windows patching.

Hum. That's not as if they were so quick in fixing bugs ;)

Besides, there shouldn't be such a critical issue with prior QA testing. And no matter when they release it (well, if they do), they supposedly have two others in the pipe. In any case, they would take a few days to get enough information before reacting.

So I don't think the day of the week has any importance; but obviously it won't be today after all. Yet another week in which the patch was about to be released very soon.

I think there are only two patches on the way. They said one is in QA and one is in development.

Patch 1 was the Day 1 patch.

Maybe you should learn to listen.

There was no any day 1 patch at least for PC version (look at files date in your game folder I mean the legal one from Origin).. What are you talking about really?

The reason for the silence is, funnily enough, probably because the devs are working on the patch. They're likely running into a lot of problems since it's not an easy job, and updating us about how much difficulty they're having wouldn't be very productive.

Don't they have community folk team who could do updates for them?

I think the day 1 patch people were referring to might be the one for PS4. If not then I don't know what those people were on about.

Did anyone actually watch the video linked in the startpost? First patch in "final stages", which probably means it's asking approval of Microsoft & Sony. Second patch is in QA (quality assurance aka beta testing) and third patch is in the work. So yeah, the devs are working on a patch, but not the one we get soon (hopefully). Plus there are probably enough people around to do the announcements, not just the core devs.

I would just like to know whether they ever intend on patching the PC controls. While the other issues are important; for me the game is unplayable in its current form. If they are not going to patch the controls, then I will simply uninstall the game and say "good bye" to the money I spent on the Deluxe edition.

And I will never, ever buy another Bioware produce again.

Remember, you're not allowed to state the obvious response to "But the devs are busy".

Also, we had a QA guy commenting, quite a lot actually, until he too went dark about a week or so ago. Looks like someone got a telling off about speaking on behalf of the company, when the game is in such a miserable, unmerchantable quality.

Yes, if I were to be chief of PR/Marketing in the multi million company the I would most probably resort to 'cave in' too. This game is not in the best shape definately, too many obvious bugs. Sooner or later they will need to emerge and I wonder, what kind of ginormous patch they will provide. Anything small will only further irritate/anger/infuriate their customers.

It's not just PC players, trust me.

Oh I know, but you can hardly compare this with inability to launch a game with other problems.
Not to mention bad optimization, my mid end GPU should run this game with medium settings easily, which did not happened. More so game crashed because of that.
Whats more funny, when I received my physical copy of the game, during the installation it turned out that discs are damaged in some way - so I had to download whole game, and send physical copy to EA.
All in all, as a client I have the right to be slightly dissatisfied. And so on, I demand a patch. So I'll wait politely... for some time. But as we know, there's no patch for whole 3 weeks.

Yes, but what would they say? "We are - inevitably - running into lots of problems while working on the patch and we're not quite sure when it'll be finished." How would that help? On top of that, they never know how the community is going to react - just look at how negatively people responded to the developer updates on the party banter issue.

I know the lack of updates can make it seem like they've given up on the patch, but there are more reasonable explanations for keeping us in the dark. There's no need to get too disheartened by the silence.

I don't buy that.

there's nothing that could be said on this forum that would cause Bioware to not release a patch they've been working on.  The forums do not represent the total % of people who bought the game, and the people not complaining don't deserve to suffer because of those who are complaining.  So instead of asking, 'How would it help', it should be, 'How would it hurt'

They can say what is being patched, what we are going to receive etc. People' reaction is quite normal considering the state of the game. There is only one perspective I care for: customer's one. I'm not a child, I do not need to be kept in the darkness by the caring big brother. Action-> reaction

Honestly I just find it ridiculous that PC users have to wait for Sony/MS to get their **** together before we get a patch. I also find the notion that anyone on consoles would actually claim how it's "unfair" - you have an extra step, PC users don't. Why should we have to wait for a step that doesn't even concern us? It's not about fairness, it's about logic. >:

Patience. Just wait until the next game cuts resolution or fps on one console because of the technical limitations of another, then you could remind those people about their sense of fairness. Same, for everyone. :)

I can compare inability to launch the game, when that is EXACTLY the types of game breaking problem consoles are having.  I can't speak for PC optimization, but consoles are having more than just graphical issues.
