Mark Darrah has made tweets about patches just half hour ago. It seems like they will be patching PC on 9th.

I guess I have just wait some more. Sigh.
Some communication is better than none, and it's good news for PC players. IMO they seem to be having the most technical issues out of everyone, so if the first patch is addressing that... then good.
I can only assume the complications/delay for platforms is the certs l0l.
The fact that they are releasing it for PC first just means they aren't delaying the PC version to deal with the harder act of patching the consoles. I'm super happy they at least did this, instead of rolling them all out at once regardless of when they finished.
I was starting to think the patch wasn't going to be out until late december...i'm happy.
If this http://forum.bioware...d-its-problems/won't get fixed then game will still remain in the unfinished phase. One more day of waiting and then we shall see how determined is BioWare to fix one of the main races that is currently broken and glued beyond reason. I'm eager to finally start playing the game I have bought 3 weeks ago. I cannot accept the fact that multi million company has released unfinished models.
Rushed, botched and ignored, this is how It is.
Game Of The Year, yes?

And yet if that was the case a PC patch should have been out before now.

How would you know this unless you worked for Bioware? And even more so, what would be the point of delaying the PC patch, but not delaying it to the same point of the consoles? That literally makes no sense, and gets everyone mad at them.

Why don't you just return the game and get on with your life? At a certain point something is obviously draining your enjoyment as opposed to giving you it. Not saying you don't have the right to complain, but you don't have to torture yourself at the same time. Just let it goooo.

Unless it takes a while to get fixes.
The obsession that person has with the elf model is unreal ROFL. It's been posted and the thread linked in 99% of their replies in every topic, related or otherwise.
That said, I seriously doubt that will get fixed. It's not game breaking, merely immersion breaking, and one can only assume the initial patches will be fixing game-breaking issues, i.e. CTDs, freezes, memory leak, so on and so forth. Don't hold you breath on that being in this patch. It seems more cosmetic than anything, especially since I saw responses from BW staff saying it's only with certain pieces of armor and is more varied than you are letting on.

Thank you for concern, but actually it is not a torture to me at all.

I don't have an obsession with elf model per se, I'm willing to accept design choice but not that it is a botched job.
It is game breaking. This game is RPG, when you take RP out of it then there is nothing really interesting about it. Immersion is what constitutes great RP. It affects most armour pieces, not to mention that the problem does not only concern broken arms but also glued ones and it happens 100% of time (in all types of armours) during cutscenes when your character is standing in one place.
If you have read the topic I have posted so many times (as you have noticed) then you would know what BW staff said. And it is not what you have just paraphrased. In fact there was no more contact from the BioWare after we have gathered all the bug screenshots. It was about 2 weeks ago.
Elves were promised to be i na good shape before the game was released. In fact the elf presented on promotional materials cannot be made in the game. When one of the main races is broken after a DA2 non playable elves, then there is plenty of wrong with a game. I've bought it before premiere because of the elves.
It is unbelievable that such obvious bugs passed testing phase and QA. I repeat: Game Of The Year? RPG?
It must get fixed.
There is a difference between making a thread in regards to the issue and posting it in every other thread possible. If you have BW staff replying, your issue has been known. You don't need to post it everywhere and advertise it like your life depends on it. It doesn't.
You have two options:
Wait until the patch comes out that will inevitably fix it
orrrrr
Return the game and then decide several months down the road if you want to re-purchase the game when, once again, the patch that will inevitably fixes it is released
Comparing a bug like that, while yes is glaringly obvious and a bit of an eyesore, to bugs and issues that make the game literally unplayable for many people and doing the equivalent of stomping your feet and expecting it to be pushed to priority above everything else is v. selfish. You can play the game as other races. Might not be your first choice, or even your roleplaying choice, but you can still play. That's a step up from many others within the community.

2 days!
I think I might survive that long. *g* But when "walking" is not in, I might die in 2 days after all. ![]()
PS: Thanks for the heads-up, Panda. ![]()

I'm doing it in non intrusive way. I see no harm in championing the righteous cause. The more you advertise it the more it is known: who knows, maybe I have just saved dozens of hours of someone's potential playthrough.
Sure, and I will add third option to the first one: spreading the horrible news about botched model work. I will gladly stop doing it when the fix arrive. I swear on my left thumb's fingernail.
And how is it not 'literal'? I have not played the game since its release, there are other people like me who are waiting for the fix. We are literally stopped from playing our RPG. While it does not prevent us from launching the game itself(well, I have experienced directx crash) it is still so immensely intrusive that throws away potential male elf players.
How can you say it is 'selfish'. There are different people assigned to the models and game code. In no way working on broken-glued fix will prevent the other guys from doing their job.
BTW: While I understand that they usually can't name exact dates, trying to avoid backleash in case they miss it, this current news are a good way of sharing the info. It's not really specific yet we get a timeframe.
This was the problem all along. People wanted to know if they have to wait days, weeks or months. Wasn't really asked too much and I'd appreciated had they shared their aimed date sooner.
Highly disturbing is...patting yourselves on the back for GoTY when these threads exist. People pre-ordered this because they trusted that this would not be a broken down mess across ALL platforms. These are not small bugs. Some people still can't play the game. And they're all "Cheers" Rihanna style about that accolade? Honestly, I would not feel good about that award knowing that the product I delivered doesn't match this recognition.Storywise, perhaps. But the game freezes so often that I can't really immerse myself in THAT...the core of your game. Like...turn up for what?
I don't even do this...feedback thing. I've been in here probably 4 times since being on this forum to post a comment. All in the span of the last month. Why, Bioware, are you toasting to this? It's really sick to me. It really is and I've been trying to figure out what about this whole thing bugs me. That's it. If Bioware were a person, I would peg them as a sociopath, EASY.
I needed to get that out. It's not the worst thing in my life that has happened and it isn't the end of the world. it certainly taught me a valuable lesson about not pre-ordering ever again.
I wasn't even aware of this, and I find it sickening myself. It really says novels about how bioware sees its customers and how much they care about them. I don't think I will buy another one of their games.
Guys...there are patches on the way, only days now. The GOTY award was awarded to them, not by them. How did you expect them to react?
With the patch now so close I don't really get why the mood is worse than before. The better the news the bigger the hate? At least wait until the patch is here. Then you can continue. ![]()
To be honest I have not seen many bugs other than the one that effects the elves.
This is probbably because I cannot get past the insane desgin decsions like the inquisition perks, lack of tactics, inability to distribute attribtue points, the fetch quests and of course the large stretches of land that have nothing in them but respawning monsters.
The entire game feels empty and soulless to me. I feel less immersion than when I play an MMO, mainly reason because of the endless fetch quests coupled with maps filled with nothing at all, and the horrible combat system does not help either.
What I would give to have a nice city like Denerim filled with people to talk to in order to actually add flavor to the game.
I am sorry for the rant, I know this isn't the post for it.
My point is that with so many glaringly obvious design flaws, I don't think any patch in the world could help. Even a complete UI overhaul would only scratch the surface of what this game needs to fix it.
And yes, I would give the game back if I could, but I bought it at EB Games, and they don't accept refunds unless the game won't run. They also will not buy used PC games. So unless I sell it on EBay there is not much I can do.

This will be it for me too. After the disaster of ME3 and the insultingly bad DA2 I decided to give them one last try. I wouldn't have even done that if they didn't get an extra year to add elves and things.
The only reason I did is because it claimed to be retuning back towards DAO with the line "The combat is a mixture of DAO and DA2." Yeah, well both of these had autoattack and neither of them required the player to dodge out of the way to avoid an attack like a boss fight in an MMO.
Also that it was a "PC game made by PC gamers". Yes the interface tells me this.
The GOTY award was awarded to them, not by them. How did you expect them to react?
If they had any honor, they would turn it down and make a public announcement that this game doesn't deserve it. Then ask for the honor to go to Sid Meyer's Beyond Earth, or an Indie game like Dreamfall Chapters.
I won't be buying another game from them either. I liked ME3, but this has just been a disaster. I can't play because of small things that ruin the whole experience for me.
