You do realize that the attack key is on the mouse, right? Also, the only melee ability I've used so far is the spirit blade, but my character does follow the enemy automatically without my having to press a movement key if I hold down the key mapped to that ability, albeit slowly. is it different for the standard attack?Secondly, you need to constantly be moving forward if you have a melee class. That means that one hand is on the mouse, and the other on WASD....and then maybe a pinky pressing the attack key all at the same time.

Spirit blade works differently, try playing a dual wield rogue. You have to reposition constantly. I gave up on that char and started a mage.

So, do we know what these patches will actually fix?
Let's just wait for the first patch and then we could start talking about waiting for another two lol
P.S. I wonder why changelog is a mystery.. Maybe they fix nothing, but people will see: ''look, a patch has been released'' and it will just work lol..

Earlier Mike Laidlaw has tweeted that they will first focus on making game playable and on technical errors over aesthetical one's. So I'm excepting they will do something for frame rate issues, crashes and freezing.

Actually everything is better with a controller on PC while playing DA:I. Anyone who claims playing with M/KB is in any way better is just flat out lying.
I prefer kb/m because with the controller you can't zoom out. That is a fatal flaw, more fatal than anything on kb/m.

If what you say is true then it might mean that broken arms of elves may stay in the game and make that particular race-gender combinaion unplayable. It is all weird considering that two different teams should be responsible for frames and models.

You can rebind it & it's also defaulted as the 'r' key aswell iirc. At least, I use 'r'

Well I think they will later on fix aesthetic issues as well but I agree that aesthic issues are pretty major at the moment too. I'd prefer the characters looking better than this in the game ^^;

Npcs like npc, but one of the playable racesis a mutant: male elves are tragedy with broken and glued arms on all platforms.
still, quite funny

Yes, it does not work the same with your regular attack.
If you cast a melee skill or ability, the AI will try to move your character into range, usually quite poorly. The fancy gap closers in Witcher 2's action combat, or even DRagon Age 2 are absent from DA:I. Which is really sad.
So you need to constantly fight with WASD, and still find your powers, and your attacks. This is all a LOT easier with a controller than the keyboard. The only way to get this back to where KB+M players are comfortable is :
1) Click to Move
2) Basic Attack moves to target and auto-attacks.
3) Gap closing animations for melee classes that gets around the poor path finding.

I totally agree, I'm a console player and I wish I could use K/M. Controllers are never as precise as a mouse and keyboard and dem hot keys sooooo sexy.Having played the game with both kb+mouse and controller, I honestly don't see the advantages of controller, just makes using the **** ui even more annoying. The game being build to be played with controller is one of the reasons why it's not as good as it could be on PC. The UI could be so much better if it weren't for the console centered design. Skyrim had the same crap but at least mods saved the UI nightmare. Origins had better ui, wasn't limited to 8 skills on actionbar, had working tactical screen and it was a PC game, later ported to consoles. It is sad that PC gamers have to suffer because of console limitations and companies being too greedy to dev 2 versions of the game.

That shot is clearly taken from the Super Nintendo version. Can't you see the 16-bit graphics?

What the @&$%. I'm playing on a PS 3 and it looks nothing like that. Occasionally I will get some pop in textures on objects in the environment( doors, tapestries ect) but never on actual characters all in all my copy looks good for a P3 game.Npcs like npc, but one of the playable racesis a mutant: male elves are tragedy with broken and glued arms on all platforms.

Umm, what? Please don't take this as being snarky but I am playing an Elf Archer and haven't experienced this at all. Like I said I'm not being snarky I'm legitimately confused and curious about this problem. If what you say is true then it might mean that broken arms of elves may stay in the game and make that particular race-gender combinaion unplayable. Alright, I'll take the bait:
What is better with a controller? If you can name one thing you can do in the game that's easier with a controller than with mouse and keyboard, I'd already be impressed, cause I have found none. All but using your first 4 skills take more action from the player to perform on a controller. All of them.
Do you mean in general or in DA:I?
Real time dodging. And controlling speed - KBM requires toggles because it doesn't have context sensitive controls.

It depends on your elf gender too. Male elves suffer from broken and glued arms. Please, visit these threads in the presented order. There are pages filled with these bugs. It occurs on all platforms, every time. Something with models is horribly wrong. Some people, including Mister Allan Schumacher said that it may happen to female elves too, although it affects them minimally. Broken arms occur with certain armours(great many of them). Glued arms occur all the time during cutscenes.
