You get to judge Mistress Poulin way before you can turn the quest in, so now I'm stuck with it since she's no longer in the game. Is there some kind of work-around to get it finished?

To get what finished? I don't understand ...what exactly are you having trouble completing. Perhaps a bit more detail in your question, eh.

I'm supposed to talk to her to finish the quest, but since she was judged at Skyhold she isn't actually in Empris du Lion anymore. So the questmarker just points to an empty house.

Well now I'd love to help but I've not gone into that zone yet ...still I've been doing a lot of quest research and I don't recall reading about ...um what's the quest called?

Quarry Quandary, like the title. Right after you get rid of the red templars in the Quarry you get a quest to judge Poulin at Skyhold, since I had to go back there anyway I decided to do it right away. However, the quest to actually talk to her didn't trigger until I took the stronghold a lot later in the game.

I had the same today. Judged her at Skyhold, but quest still appears in my log. When I went to her house, she obviously wasn't there. This needs to get fixed.

I don't think this is a quest bug in the slightest. It's called unforeseen consequences. Your own actions as Inquisitor caused the issue ...or if you want to think of it another way, you were an impatient player and your own choice caused another quest to not be able to complete. It's part of the game. That's what replays are for. To not make the same mistakes ...er choices as the previous game play. Live and learn and hope you don't make the same choices the next time around ...or at the very least are a little less impatient to finish up and judge someone too quickly lest something unforeseen happens ![]()

So its not a bug that the quest doesn't resolve after the npc is gone? Aha

It is a bug that needs to get fixed. I've seen several people reported it already, I wonder if upcoming patches will fix it to update correctly when npc is gone.

It's clear to me that what you [and others] consider a bug and what I think is a bug in this game are completely different so I shall end my input on this posting lest I type something that will most-certainly p!ss you and others off.

Not sure if trolling or serious... This is a bug as quest shouldn't point to npc who isn't there anymore.

I think it deifnately a bug, because it when you return to her that you conforont her about the issue, so she either shouldn't show up at Skyhold until that happens, or the quest should update when she is executed and say that she has been dealt with.
I didn't have the issue, I'm just trying to argue the logic of it.

The quest should complete, or be asigned another NPC, or have Poulan available unless you killed her. Release her, she;s in EDL, Scribe she's in Skyhold.

If it makes you feel any better- I almost had the same thing happen to me. I judged her at skyhold, somehow realized I needed her to complete the quest right after, reloaded a save to before judging, and went and talked to her. There is NOTHING significant about it. You might get some companion approval/disapproval depending on what you say, and of course the quest is marked completed, but I found the whole conversation pointless. Was thinking I should have just left her as judged.

Yup, stuck with this too and apparently it leads into another judgement (promote someone to take The place of Poulin) which you cant do until you speak to her, which you cant do as she has vanished but marker is still in Emprise du Lion.
what ever the case , it is very much a bug and needs fixing!

For those that are stuck on this, all I can say is sorry. Like what Qwii was saying this is not a bug. You jumped ahead and tried and sentenced the lady with out finishing the side quest for her. There is no need for Bioware/EA to do anything with this. It is not their fault you decided to jump ahead and skip certain things. There were quest like this in both DA1 and DA2 which if you skipped part of it then you are not able to complete the other quest. Even the ME games had quest like that.
I did something similar to the with the side quest line given by Researcher Frederic out in the Western Approach. I wait to late to turn in Sharper White Claws and finished the rest of his quest. So now that quest will always be in my log as incomplete (the Current Quest tab), it is not a bug it was my fault for I rushed through the quest he gave out.
So, for the future do not get hasty and rush things. When I went through Emprise Du'Lion zone I cleared all the quest there except for the three dragons, I had to level up some to face the Highland Ravager, then I went back to Skyhold and did my stuff there before moving on.
There are a lot of aspects in this game that are throwbacks to older style RPGs. The quest, certain achieves, and triggerable events. A prime example of this is on the Exalted Plains, if you looted the key fragments from the graves in the ruins in front of Unadin's Grotto, and turn them into the Keeper at the dalish camp before opening the place up, guess what then you are S.O.L. on getting the mosaic inside the grotto. It is not a bug or a glitch it comes from you not following one of the scenarios the developers laid out for us. The Devs gave us many paths to take in this game as it says 'Your Choices Effect The World" meaning if you screw up and rush something then all you can say is 'Oh Well" and try to do it better on a replay from an older save or on a new character.

It is a bug, an oversight or you are just being stupid. Quest should just resolve, once npc is gone. What would be the point to just have a quest in log that you can't finish?

It also bugges promotin Berris, if you sided with the Templars. Only way to promote him is to judge someone else but, if she's the last then, you can;'t finish Quarry Quandry or, promote Berris either one. Only cure is not to judge her until you finish the quest.
I guess they assumed you would not go back to skyhold before finishing the quests in EDL.

Doing quest out of order and making others unable to be completed is not a bug. It is called user error or skipping quest parts. The fact that they remain in your current quest tracker is to let you know that you messed something up.
Neither Qwii or myself are trying to be trolls or pricks. But, if calling us that and closing yourself off to the idea that you might have messed something up makes you feel better than go for it. Given the responses I am seeing back on this topic I will no longer read or respond to this anymore.

TO BIOWARE: for those of us who like to enjoy ALL the content you give us - please make a fix for this and include in a patch/update.
I can't speak for anyone else but know I'll need therapy if I have a pending quest left in my log ![]()

How is it out of order if you go back to Skyhold to restock, craft gear, etc.... mid zone and, there is a prisoner needing to be judged so, you take a moment to do so while you're there. Oh but wait, now you can't finish TWO quests?!?!

She turned up in Skyhold for judging - of course loads of us ended up getting out of cinq with what the developers intended! Okay, maybe it's not so much a bug as an oversight by the developers when planning the storylines - not a big deal, these things happen, and clearly it didn't show up in Q&A testing. But it's only fair to ask for a fix it - we trusted the game quest trail but it went squew-wiff
Who would have thought to check their log before judgement? Not me.

Even checking the log, I assumed she was in custody and, when she wasn't in the jail cells and, I had no access to VR prison, didn't find one in EDL, I assumed you could speak to her after judgement. Nope, she just vanishes.
