They should have copied wow and have the bars all over the screen. then make you buy those keyboards and mouse with the extrea buttons to play.

The ui has nothing to do with consoles seeing as its different with a controller plugged in and could store more abilities than the pc

I'm just as disappointed with the limit as anyone else. It's even more annoying on multiplayer where you have 4.

I don't buy the argument that you're supposed to choose abilities tactically. The AI-controlled party members get the whole complement of abilities to use in every battle. It's only the human-controlled character that's restricted to the eight. What, the game gets to play my guy with all his abilities, but I, the human player, don't? You can't possibly believe that this was as intended.

If all party members were limited to eight, then that's evidence of intentional (if poor) game design. As it is, it's just non-design, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure you're completely wrong here. I've never seen a party member use something not on their bar.

Not the point when I started this thread, 1 more bar for shift 1-8 would have been enough. Hack 1 bar  of 1 to = would have been enough and put the 3 potions on other hotkeys would work too.

Pffft... back in my day! In EverQuest you only had 9 spell slots and we did just fine... And you had to stare at a spellbook for 20 minutes to remember new spells... And we had to walk to Halas! Trough 3 feet of snow! Uphill! Both ways!

They came up to my Barbarian Warrior all the time too, even though he was wearing full plate armour and had a friggen huge axe in his hands. The day somebody came up to my Dark Elf Shadowknight asking for a SoW, was the day I lost all hope for humanity....
