You missed out, that's a huge part of the story!
Story/Content/Roleplay wise, which brings more to the table? Human Male Mage, or Female Elven Mage (Solace Romance)? (No Spoilers!)

How much additional banter is in the Solas romance with a mage vs. a rogue/warrior. I'd like to playthrough as a rogue next with the Solas romance, and I know there are a couple of mage-specific dialogue options, but hopefully not too many that'd take away from it?

Did a female Lavellan mage and romanced Solas, definitely the best playthrough I've ever done in a game. It had a lot of sad and tragic moments but it was so rewarding. Given DAI's focus on the elven storyline and lore, I think everyone should try to play as an elf at least once.

There's not much difference. I think most of what he says to an elven mage, he can also say to a human mage- with maaaaybe the exception of the blood magic conversation..?
I could be totally wrong about all that, though. I played an archer and romanced him.

You guys got me pumped. I'm having some trouble making a good looking character, but knowing me I'll spend a few more hours and hopefully get it down.

I don't know that it's the additional banter as much as the emotional impact it brings to the story.

On another note is playing a male elven mage interesting as well? I know you miss out on the Solas romance but I was hoping that it might be quite different from my 1st playthrough as a human male mage.

I was planning on rolling one, but the body issues the model had simply would ruin my immersion and thus my playthrough. So I decided maybe a female elf because I'd rather not roll a human male like everyone else. Once I started looking into it, it seems the female dalish elven mage is the best to go with, and I'm happy I found this out before I got to far into the game.

Yeah, in terms of plot involvement I think female Lavellan (romancing Solas) is the best. Kind of like I felt that in DAO Couslands were the most involved (and dalish elves the least lol). It is actually quite curious when you think that the game initially was planned to have only human protagonist and additional races and romances were added later.

Hmm, everyone is talking about the Solas romance ... I think I may have to create a female elf mage, and experience the fuss first hand.
Come to momma, Solas!

Fem!Lavellan x Solas, I still haven't found words to describe how it feels, deep, emotional, beautiful, it's all those things and more..much much more. I should write an essay or something *sigh*.

If you go to the character customization you'll see several threads on it. Their arms sit inward at an awkward broken like position. They just look bad, like high schoolers. It wasn't intended ether, because Solas' body model is exceptional and looks much more masculine.

Everyone keeps saying this, excited for my playthrough through once I can make a good looking elf. I feel sorry for the people who limit themselves to Human playthroughs - (used to be me.)

Ah well that sucks, Still need to see the game from an elven perspective now though.

My thoughts exactly. The elves and Solas were afterthoughts at first, now they serve as the most involved playthroughs...

Female Dalish mage was my first playthrough as well. And...yeah. It adds a whole other amazing layer to the story, though it won't be apparent at first.
Honestly, I was never hugely into Dragon Age. I'm much more of a Sci-fi fan, so Mass Effect always captured my imagination more. I enjoyed DAO, but I wasn't head over heels in love with it. Same with DA2. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. But Inquisition... This is the one that made me invested, and it did that by shaking my preconceptions to the core. This is the one that got me to read the entire codex and pore over the lore for clues. And it's all Solas and my Dalish mage's fault. The guy honestly blew my mind.
Also, if you're gonna do this right then take him everywhere, especially with Cole. Change up the rest of your party every so often, too. Solas has some incredible banters that offer additional insight.

Female Keeper quite easily.
Are you referring to the PC? I thought the PC elf was referred to as The first in their clan.
