No.
I can't imagine the implementation of a vehicle flight mechanic being any fun at all.
It would end up the same way the SR1 did.
Kiss my butt, Oculus's!

The Oculi can rip right through the Normandy hull. I paid $10 for that hull.

Not if you upgrade the armor -- then it can take a few hits. But if it was invincible then that would not be as fun.
Not me! joining a battle where dreadnoughts are involved just gets the ship sq
Not me! joining a battle where dreadnoughts are involved just gets the ship squished. However running a few evacuation quests and ground strafing would be ok for earth final mission where it is virtually all or nothing. Risking Normandy as the only stealth ship around on other stuff would be too dangerous
Definitely: ship battles added so much to Assassins Creed; I'm pretty sure they will do so for Mass Effect. Both dogfights with spacefighters and warship battles would be most welcome to me.
Oh, and speaking of the Oculus': why didn't the Normandy have some defensive turrets? It would have come in handy when assaulting the Collector base... With only forward facing guns the damn thing is basically an ultra-heavy fighter.
I would want to fly the Normandy with Cerberus colors.
I thought, back when I first started playing Mass Effect, that I'd be fighting space battles at some point, but after they were relegated to cutscenes in ME1, I figured the same would likely happen in ME2/3, and it did. I wonder if Bioware ever considered it or if the plan was always to stick to squad-based ground combat.
I'd ruin Joker's reputation as the best in the galaxy... and afterwards, when giving my piloting performance review EDI would simply say, "That was a joke."
It should be pretty easy to beat Joker. For example, when there's an enemy ship that only has a gun that can fire forward... don't maneuver your ship in front of the other ship.

You have to stay within thirty degrees of the nose to prevent course-plotting... or something. Cortez didn't sound too impressed by that either. Hmm, maybe Joker really isn't all that good after all.

I was talking about the Collector Ship. When they try to escape Joker flies right in front of it (which got the first Normandy destroyed) instead of going behind or staying perpendicular to the main canons.

Really? I expected something different from someone with that nickname...
That said: I can't see the ME teams implementing this in a fun and (for me) enjoyable/ sense making way.
(There are games focussing only on Flight mechanics - and failing grandiosely at that. Something like this tacked on as afterthought is not very promising in that regard)
But: IF they'd do it right, it would be a helluva fun!

Seems like they forgot to disable safety protocols.

Oh, that's what I meant. When I think of BioWare vehicle sections I think of the Mako and *groan* the Hammerhead.
FlyingSquirrel?
Are you perhaps THE FlyingSquirrel in the Assassins Creed Forum?
No, I've never played any AC games or ventured into their forums. I imagine it's a mildly popular screen name - there are some sites where I've tried to register as FlyingSquirrel and been told that it's already taken.
Would it be better than the Mako?
I don't want Liara screaming in my ear "By the Goddess" everytime I fly and almost hit the ship in a Reaper.

That line is right up there with the, "Steeeeeeve!" scream.
Should have paid more attention to EDI when she complained about "Mr. Moreau" back when we were all working for Cerberus.Seems like they forgot to disable safety protocols.
