Modded Skyrim is my favourite game of all time. I carefully modded my Skyrim for more then a year and it grew to over 500 mods big, where each and every one of them is lore friendly and adds to immersion.

At the risk of a massive derail, what do all those mods accomplish for you? And why do you want so many? I can't imagine even reading that many mod descriptions myself, let alone working out which ones were worth installing.

Lore-friendly doesn't equate to canon, something modders forget or altogether disregard.

I know. But vanilla Skyrim is still a better game. Its just modded Skyrim is like the best ever :D

Its thanks to Bethesda too that we got so many amazing mods. And I hope Bioware will realise that mods prolongue

game's life tenfold and adds support for them in next game.

Can you make your font smaller? It looks like you shout in every post

oh sweet Maker no! no mods ever for Bioware games. I like Bioware games because of its storytelling. if i want to write my own fiction, i would rather not play games and just watch movies.

although i liked and played Skyrim alot, i always leave thinking "is that it"

If im honest for the direction BioWare looks like it wants to go with its games, it should have looked at Dragons Dogma on how to do Boss fights, ANY game that wants to go this route needs to look at that game to see how to do boss fights

The most facepalm thing in DA:I is having target-able parts on a dragon but you CANNOT target the wings to ground it, that is just ludicrous tbh, if your going to allow target-able parts the first thing you allow to be targeted on a dragon is its wings so the bugger dont fly away.

Sorry everytime i fight them things its all i can think of lol

With mods like exploding chickens, macho man dragons and cheese for everyone, why would ever go back to vanilla?

1. With mods like requiem, frostfall and realistic needs and diseases completely revamping core gameplay mechanics.

2. Stop using that font, its annoying to read.

Unwarranted? Why should choosing a silly font be immune from critique? Though it's really Bio's fault for letting you do it.

26,757 posts over 4 years? Damn, you must spend a lot of time on here. As far as the font goes, you pretty much answered your own question.

I spent 20 hours in Skyrim and got bored. It may have more involved sidequest chains but since the writing and voice-acting were awful they didn't hold my interest. The world often felt randomly generated, whereas Inquisition's maps feel hand crafted.

The difference between Skyrim and DA: I to me is that when I get bored of exploration, Dragon Age actually has interesting characters and story to return to.

That doesn't actually answer my question, which was why choosing a silly font should be immune from critique. Even if Bio's to blame for not reining your bad taste in, why should that let you off the hook?

I hate Skyrim, a lot, but nothing can be worse than Dragon Age Inquisition so in this battle of the worst game ever, DAi is without a doubt the champion, nothing will ever be worse. Skyrim is a good challenger, but to put ir against Inquisition is stupid, Skyrim is an awful game, yes, but DAI is godlikely worse.

If this were a matter of Morrowind vs. Inquisition, then it'd be no hard choice to make on my end. Skyrim for all it's pretty graphics felt like an empty shell compared to Morrowind and it's subsequent expansions, though I'm sure people also feel the same in regards to Daggerfall and Morrowind. In terms of Inquisition and Skyrim, however, I much prefer the writing in Inquisition. The writing in Skyrim was spotty at best, with some factions receiving stellar stories to go along with their quests and others being honestly nothing special. In the end it's up to personal preference.

Do you prefer a huge open world with very little written substance where you can do whatever you want, but at the sacrifice of the overall story?

Or a more restricted world where the writing is the center focus and the shenanigans you can get into are tapered off as a result?

Good food for thought. I enjoy both games for various reasons. No debate about Skyrim's writing being spotty at best, when compared to DAI's story.

To answer your question, I would prefer to have both open world exploration and stellar writing to draw me in even more. Even though story is an integral factor for executing immersion in an RPG, if I had to choose one, I would choose a vibrant open world with rewarding exploration.

Both games have replay value, but with a game like Skyrim, every new character is a new adventure you create as you play through the game. Whereas in DAI, every new character you create, more or less follows the same path of being the Rift Sealer, making different decisions, choose different skill trees while deciding who will rule over the Divine. 2 prisoners with different destines.

Mods are optional and can really add a lot to a game.

Still, skyrim became boring due to each dungeon looking the same but with diff layouts

You have a right to your opinion and no one can be immune to how you feel, including me. That works both ways though. What makes Comic Sans a 'silly' font? I may choose a new font, next time around for no particular reason. I guess the Bioware community is all for diversity except when it comes to fonts. Fontism at it's finest! Lol!

I don't see why this is such a big deal. I'm not shouting or offending anyone on this board. Just came here to talk about games with gamers. It's not like I showed up for a job interview at a law firm wearing a camouflage shirt with ripped jeans and sneakers.

I see Bioware has different font selections so I decided to pick something different. Didn't realize I had to type in a particular font to do that.

Also whats the problem with this persons font? Like really is the internet that bad that if someone doesn't use size 10 arial then they are some kind of freak that doesn't deserve an opinion?

Its big, its easier to read and it isn't pure evil or anything. It's just different, and if your saying that the font is no good because its different, then thats fontism. Which is like racism but for writing.

Haa! fontism, awesome

Big thing going for Skyrim, DA:O Bauldur's Gate series NWN I and 2 was the ability to mod the games.  NWN 1 was an awesome game not for the game, which was  very so so, but the ability to make your own adventures.  It was a golden age of DM run games, awesome stories, I still play games and downloads of those after all this time, some of the most amazing rpg stories ever made by the player base.  It's why yes, Skyrim sales and that will be going strong long after DA:I.  Heck people are still modding DA:O.  I never saw anything the likes of NWN 1 community though.  IF EA ever gets a clue as to what will create longevity and therefore, long term sales, they'll look into enabling their player base to make modifications.

Skyrim doesn't hold a candle to DAI. DAI is MUCH larger, and actually has a story unlike TES games. I could go on and on about the superior traits DAI has over Skyrim, but it would take too long.

Skyrim has more diversity and freedom. So it's a much easier game to role play as a result and the choices go beyond wether or not you want to be mean, nice, funny or flirty. So it has that over Inquisition. It's lore is solid but less to do with the story for the most part. But it feels a bit vacant in terms of it's identity. DA:I seems to have that fantasy world feel down, the world is rich with lore and characters from past adventures (Dagna!) and there really is a sense of urgency in the world. The world itself is beautiful, the game is better to look at, combat is clearly more evolved and the story is just as well written. I think Skyrim's biggest problem is you can get bored and wind up somewhere you didn't want to like chanting 'Hail Sithis' endlessly until you realise the missions don't actually end. Storage is  one up over DA:I and healing is better in Skyrim. Much better.

I love DA:I and I won't go back to Skyrim but it edges out Inquisition, as much as I hate to admit it.

no, u absolutely can do that. but like what u said about the interview, no one is gonna take u seriously if u use that font.

seriously, i thought u are just a troll (even before I start reading your post), typing all in CAPS (your font looks like all in CAPS) just to get attention but apparently, u can make intelligent conversations.

so yah, stop using this childish font or at least reduce its size.

The jury is still out for me. I'll wait until BioWare releases all of their single-player content before I render judgment, but as of right now, I don't think I got more out of my $60 (+$40 with Dragonborn and Dawnguard, I suppose) with any other game than I did with Skyrim (maybe New Vegas).

What would happend if Bethesda would buy Bioware from EA and make an EPIC TES VI with cutscenes and interesting characters / companions and a huge open world that could be modded? With the tactical Combat from DAO?

OMG... I would play 2000 hours :-)

I dont think it would work out if EA would buy Bethesda though.... Their mind is controlled by $$$$$ which destroys any creativity.

Well, game becomes living breathing world with huge amount of variety in pretty much everything, from animals and random encounters to loot and places. Survival things like eating, drinking, sleeping, and caring for warmth (in snowy regions you freeze to death quickly without proper cloths). Fully remade perks that are now interesting and you have hard time to pick where to spend points. Combat is challenging, dragon are deadly, enemies surprise with unique abilities and spells. Graphics looks better then DAI. Hundreds of amazing characters you can meet each with great dialogues and really cool quests. Unparallel amount of new content (more then a thousand hours easily). And so on.

You can check sneek peek of my compilation here, but thats just a tip of iceberg:

Skyrim has 5-6 pretty long storylines, really. One for each guild, the main quest, and the civil war one. The Dark Brotherhood one, in particular, was pretty damn good.
