Well good thing Cullen finally learns he was a *** through DAO and DA2 in this game and finally moves on with his life.
Unless players made him take Lyrium again since that choice determine what personality he will have...

I really, really like what they did with Cullen in that game. Pretty heavy stuff in his personal development, but also rather well done.
Out of curiosity, did your Warden die? I'm wondering if that would change dialoge
It not my video. I just found it while looking for events that my game does not have due to different world states.
That's very cool! When in the storyline do you unlock that convo?

Oh, good to know...

Grrrr! I need to level up my Inquisitor so that I can finish the quest with the emperess and eventually access this dialogue! I want to see Cullen's regret! I shall drink his tears!
...Nope, nope. That last part was a little too Eric Cartman for me.
Still wanna see his remorse, though. I hold grudges for a very long time. ![]()
Anyone know what he says about a male mage warden (if anything)?

The "lovely" bit isn't there, but aside from that its basically the same: "I attended his Harrowing, and I saw him again when he saved my life and sanity. I wish I hadn't raged out on him at the time."
he never said anything about saving his life and sanity. he did mentioned the Warden saved Felderan and is a Hero.
When do you get this convo? My Warden was a Circle mage as well and I haven't come across it yet. Does it happen after the Orlesian ball quest?

it happens randomly. after he decides not to take lyrium. but i have choosen to romance him by then.
i think in this game, u just have to keep talking to your companions whenever u have a chance. u don't know when they will say something interesting.
Any time you open up a new area or you finish some kind of significant quest, be sure to talk to companions for random dialogue or cut scenes.
I think this conversation unlocks after him Lyrium dilemma.
I got it after I did his personal quest "Before Dawn", but before the ball. Now that I'm thinking about it...I got it right after I finished the war room quest to find the warden. That's a quest you get when you talk to Leliana. It may or may not have anything to do with it.
This appeared quite late in the game for me, I had the "no more Lyrium" version. Then I got sad because my Warden made the ultimate sacrifice, which means she'll never find this out.

I agree. I was pleasantly surprised, and his character showed real growth over the course of the series.

*Mushu voice* Our little boy is all grown up and saving Thedas! *sniffle*
I loved what they did with Cullen in Inquisition. He's had steady growth throughout the series and this was a scene I wish my 'canon' Surana would have seen. In my head canon, she forgave him his horrible words but it took years to do so.
I never got the warden mission from Leliana.
Until Inquisition, I really feel sorry for Cullen. I mean, C'mon. The guy was always in love with mages. He was really in love but the templars... First the mage female warden. Then in DA2... He goes directly to take Bethany to the circle. But without harm... You know.
I give the poor guy the chance with the female mage Inquisitor.
Also, I'm sorry, but
Hmm I didn't realise he thinks differently depending on your choice concerning the lyrium addiction....interesting. I wonder if stopping taking lyrium stops the illness (becoming mad) or is he just worrried that he will just change one 'leash' for another....?
And why does he continue hating mages if persuaded to continue taking the addicting stuff?

The illness is a simple withdraw symptom. Basically he facing the side effects of not take drugs after being addicted to it for so long.
NPCs back in origins have mentioned that Lyrium withdraw is very painful but if they can endure it the person will eventually stop suffering from it and learn to stop taking Lyrium like any person who have successfully stop taking drugs.
Cullen continues to hate Mages on Take Lyrium path becuase the Lyrium effects for taking it so long prevents him from forgetting the horrible pain he felt back when he was turtored by Mages back in DAO.
In short, Lyrium is basically crack with magic steroids that gives Templars their powers.

But wasn't there a quest in DA2 where you had to frame a mad templar (I thought it was from taking lyrium for too long but maybe I am remembering it wrong...).....funny quest either way:)
....if it is all because of a bad reaction for not taking it then the drama seem silly honestly. Or to me at least.

Well like I said it a Drug addiction issue and a very bad one that the Chantry uses to keep a certain amount of their templars under their control and from leaving the Templar Order.
I admit he is not so discusting ******* like he was in previous games, although he still is douchbag sometimes. At least he seems to see most of the things he was wrong about.
