I don't use Viv in this first play though so its not essential but she does not have her advanced spec showing in her profile.
Why not?
All the other NPC's (unused and used) do not have this issue.

i have the same issue but with dorian, he doesnt have his necromancer specialisation. all others have theirs

You need to take them out in the field once for each character. Just leave skyhold and go to any other zone and the specialisation should appear.

This solved it for me when I notcied that in skyhold.
Just go out to camp and switch party members to get everyone out at leats once. I also open up the charachter menu just to be sure it was there before replacing htem.
