Well... except for the things missing that were in the promotional material.. like the keep customization and that dwarven city/outpost they said we'd visit. And the PC controls issues. And the uninteresting side-quests. And a few other grievances.

But yes. Even though I'm disappointed in a few things, I don't regret buying it.

Agreed about some of the promotional video being not just misleading, but completely false. The entire segment that showed the Keep being conquered, which involved 1) capturing keeps outside of Skyhold, 2) having different methods of doing this (comments about how the keep was weakened throgh various other quests) 3) the use of non-combat skills (Cassandra's gate smash was stupid, but there are zero non-combat skills at this point outside of the small handful of Inquisition upgrades that apply) 4) the discussion of specializing different keeps for Attack/defense/economy/etc. 5) and, of course, the use of the tactical cam that didn't have major issues such as auto-moving over any character highlighted.

The game was portrayed as being much more deep, much more strategic and much more about managing the Inquisition. Instead, it became a single player MMO that was about doing fetch quests for the Inquisition. As others have said, if you enjoy an action game MMO with dialogue, this probably is great. If you were wanting a strategic, tactical RPG, chances are you will not be as pleased.

I've been very pleased with the game itself; most of my issues have been performance-related and I'm sure that's because my laptop is at the low end of what can run this game, aha. Still, I'm cheerfully chugging through the story and very delighted with all the characters and everything! Even combat doesn't really bother me, though I'd prefer something much less clunky, and I could do with more ability slots. Please. Please.

Now I played this on 360 and so the game was a little hard to get through because of the insane amount of bugs, that mixed with the fact that there are things they said would be in the game but just aren't and you'd think that I hated this game.......But I absolutely love it, It's my GOTY for the story alone <3

Did Dragon age inquisition deliver?

If you wanted a grinder, it does deliver.

Everywhwere you look, everywhere you go, it's grind, grind, grind respawns.

I've asked for norespawn mod yesterday, hopefully someone will make it. This is the first "godlike mobs that can't die for good" grinder from Bioware and it ruined my experience. I can adapt to lousy controls on PC, I can adapt to the horrible inventory system, but this amount of grinding in AAA title?

A design crime.

I finished the game btw, solved all sidequests, made all war table missions, killed all dragons, turned every stone...

I want to replay the game. Pick different choices. Do different romances.

But I can't put myself through the same endlessly respawning mobs grinding again. I'm not a masochist.

A buggy mess that is unplayable because it keeps crashing ever 2minutes or so... Totally delivered, this is genuine Bioware game!

If I were looking for a grindfest I'd've checked out an asian MMO. When I want an awesome, immersive story, with meaningful decisionmaking and great banter, I go to BioWare. Wait, hang on... It USED TO BE that way. Up until DAII... Did DAI deliver? Was it as gripping as Baldur's Gate or Dragon Age Origins? Heck, not even close. But that doesn't really bother them, does it? Not as long as the sales are up to their expectations.

There are 3 types of quests for this game:

1) Main story quests (Done very well)

2) Companion/area quests (Some were generic, others were fleshed out)

3) Collection quests (Generic MMO-style quests)

I skipped number 3, you don't need them and the game doesn't punish you for skipping them. I only do them if they are "along the way"

As for grinding, you're not supposed to grind in this game. Sure the enemies respawn but if you grind grind grind, you'll just end up overleveling everything wasting time while the quests will give you the XP and loot you need anyway. Not to mention it's boring. Stop grinding!

How about the game stops respawning mobs then?

I can't stop grinding when a spider respawns immediately on top of the one I just killed. And is instantly hostile.

Don't blame it on players. Nor all of us who bought every single Bioware game not realizing this one will be different than previous ones in it's base.

You don't see endless respawns in previous Bioware games. If there are, those were just symbollic and skippable. And not just plain everywhere.

A design crime is a design crime. Either should be fixed or please, instead of blaming it on players who can't explore the game without getting distracted by endless grinding and forced into fights against already nailed MMOish trashmobs who, unlike your hero, have a godlike ability to instantly get resurrected, give me norespawn mod.

Yes, it delivered.

The game is not perfect of course, and there are many things that depend on your preference, but it is an absolutely brilliant game.

The main problem it has is that is the 3rd part of a series, and everyone is going to compare it to the other parts for the things they miss, and forget about how many new awesome things DAI is delivering.

I am really surprised about the game, it is just awesome.

ISure, I miss DAO/DA2 tactics. Companion AI is awful. Yes.

And yeah, I think number of skills is lower than in previous games, I would like more. Yes.

But this game has given me in return, compared to DAO/DA2:

- The war table

- Millions of codex and beautiful art

- Lots of conversations, surprised about the amount of lore thanks to the new non-animated dialogues (great idea!)

- Awesome music and sound

- The best voice acting ever listened

- A huge world to explore, if I feel like it (I almost dont do any sidequests, but their presence makes me feel like the world is real)

- More companions, and as awesome as always

- A new crafting system where I can even name my creations

- 2 different voices

- 4 races to choose from

- Multiplayer

- New mechanics for combat: shield, guard, non-regen between combats (and I really like it)

- MUCH more enemies to fight, more variation

- Beautiful landscapes and sights

- New combat mechanic of parts in big enemies like Dragons

- New combat mechanic, focus

- And many more I am sure forgetting...

So yeah, the game might have things you dont like, that DAO/DA2 had. But it offer SO MUCH MORE IN RETURN!

Agree 100% However as their reputation goes down the drain, both their brand and sales will suffer.

The trailer/hype and reviews seem like a completely different game to the one I now have on my hard-drive.  To say that I am deflated, is a understatement.

Bioware promised that DAI would be by PC Gamers, for PC gamers. Nothing could be further from the truth. While this is not the game they promised to deliver, I am mostly enjoying the game they did deliver. Am I happy about it all? No. I'm holding out hope that patches will vastly improve the playing experience. I'm hoping that hairstyles will be improved, either through patches or (unfortunately most likely) DLC. The UI and controls need to be fixed on the PC side, and moved entirely away from console limitations. Some things will never get fixed, like the continuity destroying lack of the creation tree - for which there is no lore or otherwise in-game explanation.

This is far and away not the game I expected, but I'm still enjoying the story - which is keeping me playing it. Bioware of course has every right to make the games they want to make, and take their company in the direction they want to go, but this is where I stop caring about their products if it's all going to be about forcing console limitations on their PC games. DAI, for me, is not a true RPG experience. I don't think it's possible to have such an experience with the control limitations of consoles, which is specifically why I never try to play an RPG on a console. To each their own, of course, as this is all my personal opinion. Unless a lot of patching goes into this game, once I finish it I will likely not ever replay it.

Without serious patch improvements, there will be no DA4 for me, and definitely no ME4 if this is the type of game that the Frostbite engine, and Bioware's obvious console leanings, promises to deliver. As many have pointed out around here lately, I'm the kind of RPG player who is likely to enjoy Divinity: Original Sin more than DAI and I'm looking forward to trying it out....

Add some more armor and weapon variety and don't make searching the maps for everything feel like such a grind and I may say yes.. otherwise.. it's a no from me.

on several layers it did deliver, BUT rushing a game out before the XMASS/Black friday mess that we americans consider a Good thing (IT's not, people fighting each other for a barbie doll, shooting each other because the one shot got the TV the shooter wanted....) was a total crap move on Biowares part, they could have delayed while they worked out the bugs and issues with Video cards  We the DA faithfull would have complained but waited for the game, now we're just debating if it is another dog that needs to be put down due to it's crippling problems.

Wonderful characters? - Yes, love visiting old friends
Sublime music? - yes
Amazing visuals and environment? - Yes in case of environments. No in case of weapon designs
Great dialogue? - Yes
Great story - Yes
Lackluster gear? -yes, the bonus content (dragon armor) looks identical for all three catagories, sad.
Fun multiplayer? - Nope
Great voice acting? - Yes
Improved combat? - Nope. Combat is one of the game's weak points.
Functional tactical camera? - Nope
Replay value? - Yes
Better than DA2 - Yes
Better than Origins - Not even close
Faith restored in Bioware RPGs? - not unless they make some Major updates soon

Yes but playing a duel weapon rogue with my keyboard/mouse makes combat not very fun. I like my character so I'll finish this game with her but will be an archer or mage next time. I know I can change to an archer now but I'm stubborn.  :P
