First off, why do some topics literally just disappear?  Posted this topic like an hour ago and it has entirely disappeared, trust me I looked for a very long time.  Do mods just remove random topics or is there like an issue with some not posting correctly?

Anyway!.... Iron Bull's first main companion mission, what did you guys decide to do?  Sacrifice the chargers for the Qunari alliance and to allow the Bull to stay within the Qun?  Or did you save the Chargers and give up the Qunari alliance while making the Bull a Tal-Vassoth?

I've done both now and both options just seem bad, you lose more then you gain in both choices and yes I know mathematically that doesn't really make sense, but it feels like it in both cases to me lol

Also, since I haven't really gotten very far after getting the Qunari alliance, anyone care to share what it gives me?  Just more war table options?  At least some dialogue outside of the Bull himself perhaps?

I chose to sacrifice the Chargers. and it was a sad outcome. Bull trying to keep it together and seeing him sat on his own in the tavern made it all the more worse.

It's the demand of the Inquisition that the Qun sucks it. As far as I can tell, I haven't lost anything particularly meaningful after the destruction of the Qunari dreadnought. Seems to me that only the oxmen lost.

Hah!  Yeah I guess people don't hold the Qunari on the same level as I do, even since Sten in DA:O I've always wanted to have Par Vollen on my side in some way, guess I forgot many people just don't give a crap about them XP lol

I don't mind giving any kind of alliance, temporary or no, some kind of chance. I just won't sacrifice anything or anyone on my end to get it.

If I could sacrifice Vivienne I might have lol

But yeah even something as insignificant as the chargers to the overall game is hard :P

I wonder if all of Bull's Ben-Hassrath espionage operations failed in that case. Like, the Qunari couldn't stop the Venatori attack on Denerim, and whatnot.

I'd like a war table mission about responding to half of Denerim in flames, if that's not too much of a consequence to ask for.

I had a war table mission become unavailable mid progress because of IB losing his contact with Ben hassrath

Maybe if the choices had meaning beyond the resolution of the quest itself I might care.

The bulls chargers at least contribute to the ambiance of the tavern.  The Qun just sends postcards.

Getting Bull out of the totalitarian nightmare known as the Qun brings joy to my heart. Bull is awesome, he really deserves freedom and a soul.

In other words, you are unworthy of alliance and your alliance partners will swiftly discover this.

Alliances where only one party is willing to sacrifice to achieve common goals or where one party actively works to ensure that casualties or sacrifices are borne by their alliance partner seldom last, and they poison the diplomatic waters where future alliances are concerned. Soon you'll be left with only alliances of necessity.

ZOMG so much this!

I'd happily send that woman to the Qun rehabilitators for a twix bar let alone anything of substance.

Quests like this bother me so much.  You weren't even getting attacked!  If you choose to sacrifice them, you just sit there watching.  Everybody was holding the idiot ball on that one.  There were a dozen solutions that could have saved everybody.

Why would anyone listen to the cause of the blight?  Bas.  If smart, they would do the opposite.

To battle a greater evil: the qun.

Make Iron Bull a Tal Vasoth meaning that he can no longer go back to the Qun. He has no choice but to choose the Inquisition. No divided loyalty. Plus, theQun doesn't believe in alliance.

I sacrificed them just to see what happens. I feel like a bad person and am definitely saving them this next time around.

In no way can the Qun be seen as "evil"

Sticking to the mission plan to ensure the success of the mission at the cost of his own people rather than risking both the success of the mission and the lives of his allies in order to save the lives of his own people doesn't make a leader a bad person. It is a requirement to be worthy of command. The mission comes first.

If you decide to save your own people, you are essentially saying that the lives of your own people are more important to you than both the lives of your allies, your alliance, and the success of your military plans. This makes you not only an unreliable ally, it also raises the obvious question, what the hell are you doing sending men into battle in the first place if you don't think the goal is worth the sacrifice of their lives to achieve?

they brainwash people and turn them into mindless zombies if it doesn't take.

probably the most evil organisation in thedas, at least in tevinter the people are free to have their own thoughts, in par vallon you would take from them even that.

Don't forget that they go all circle of magi on every new born, and kill mages who are unattended for any length of time, and to top it off since they train for their chosen(by some one else) they may very well have a bunch of kids being assigned to and trained for what amounts to being communal love slaves,
