Depends where you are in the game and whether or not you've been looting/buying high rating schematics. I tried to get new Mage schematics and only got ones that were either worse than what I had or repeat. You can always save and get it. If they suck, reload.

The rogue one had armor schematics that were better than anything else I had, but the armor clips with itself when you run, so your butt cheeks are constantly poking through the armor detail. Very distracting and I wish I would find something better.

It was all T2 stuff last I checked, so... not really. It's basically a quick way to get some decent schematics for early-mid lvls but if your playing on a harder difficulty and/or intend to do much more then just the story you'll have access to far better stuff by 15+.

-edit-

Oh the plus side, if your 'doing all the stuffs' you can get to like 20 or something. That's a solid 19 inquisition perks, far more then you need for the 'important stuff'. So... yeah I dunno its kinda weird. If your not doing much where it might be useful you might not have the perks to get the stuff you really need and putting it towards that might be a waste too lol.

Personally, I think it's about as useless as the 5% xp from kills, you could gain all xp from kills from 1-20 and it still wouldn't net you enough to get you to 21. And your gonna get the bulk of your XP from quests and codex entries so... yeah that perks dumb too. Maybe some day they'll change things around. Personally, I want them to give us base schematics inquisition progress with that perk being high end masterwork schematics. Replace the crap you can buy now with better junk as well.

...wishful thinking.

The schematics are worth it if you get them prior to lvl 17. I had a rogue and i used the dual dagger weapon from the schematic until lvl 19. I kept crafting new dual blades whenever i find higher tier materials, because they boost the stats to match the challenge in the areas.

No doubt, they can really boost your offense and defense in the early stages of the game.

Past lvl 17, a lot of weapons and armor are available for sale that surpass these schematics. But like me, these schematics should be good til lvl 20 max..

I'm pretty sure you can go higher than that. There's a merchant in Skyhold, selling various treaties which increase power and influence (mainly influence). And he has a lot of those.

Yeah I just heard it was a cap (unlike player lvls) but there may be no real cap. In either case those might exist for people doing a rushy non-full playthrough. Either way you can get everything you need with extras. I tend to go for the conversations ones I want that make sense for my character first, go from there.

No. They give you tier 2 schematics and you'll have found other tier 2 schematics by the time you can get that perk. Waste of a perk point.
