Warning minor SPOILERS ahead:
When Varic introduces Hawke for the 1st time in the "From The Ashes" quest, if you attempt to customize Hawke's appearance, your inquisitor's voice will change (mine was American voice to British, I hear it can switch from Brit to American too), nothing fixes the issue, it seems that unless you load a previous save, you're stuck with your "new" voice.
How did this get past testing Bioware? Please fix it! I refuse to play the game and have it ruin my experience, as well as others as well.
Inquisitor voice change bug/glitch!

This is one of the most well known bugs. You could have probably Googled it and found it.

Honestly the game is so huge i'm not surprised something slipped through, I just hope we hear some news soon on when the patch is likely to come out, even just an update on how much longer would ease my mind (I get anxious easy lol) I'm currently doing lots of side quests for now but I'm getting a bit of gamer fatigue waiting for the time when I can start progressing in the quest, also I miss Varric and want to talk to him but I can't or else I'll trigger this event
I tried it with the default Hawke and it sorta killed my experience.
Overall though the game is pretty darn amazing and once this bug is fixed *fingerscrossed* It'll probably be one of my top favorite game.

Or should there be a character creation like for the Inquisitor? There was no cc for me?

Ug,...I feel nauseated. I just encountered this bug and to fix it I have to lose an hour of running around talking to everyone. Goddamnit. Why was this not hotfixed?
EDIT: Now that my inqy is british, every conversation sounds like toast left out in the sun in the desert. Dry as masterpiece theataaaaaarrrrrrr!

Don't know how, we must have different googles then becasuse I searched and 1 person reported the same issue on the EA forums, not the Bioware forums. Whatever the case, I hope Bioware is aware and fixes asap.

Did you guys know that the voice-change bug is going to be fixed in the first patch? If not, I hope this helps you feel better. My first character got hit with this too, and it was very annoying.

Yea I feel the same way, the british accent was what I originally wanted, but I chose the American voice after learning that Zervan from Origins was the actor (he was my favorite DA:O mate), I find the brit accent a bit dry as well. I'm doing the whole good guy only choices thing, so I can replay and have the more fun bad guy/renegade experience on my 2nd playthough. I've always done that because I feel games are boring being the good guy :3 ... I feel the brit will be the perfect fit for my bad ass inquisitor next playthrough.

Good to know! Do you know when we should expect the patch?

No idea, but I haven't kept my ear that close to the ground. I would expect in the next week or so, if they are talking about it. Wish I knew what else to tell you. ![]()

I really hope this will be adressed and fixed in the first patch, and I really hope the patch will be out very very soon so I can continue with the story. This is the most annoying and gamebreaking bug I've encountered in the game. ![]()

Uhhh okay just wait a minute... Custom Hawke lookes like normal Hawke just with the blood on her/his nose?
Or should there be a character creation like for the Inquisitor? There was no cc for me?
No as far as I'm awre he can be black with an afro if you wanted, in other words, same customization as your inquisitor. I gave him much bigger "duck dynasty-esque" beard, longer hair tied up like Duncan/Blackwall and a few small facial scars to give him that whole "season veteran" time has passed since we last saw him vibe lol. If you dont edit Hawke, from what I'm aware of you don't encounter this bug. Hope Bio fixes ASAP!

Agreed, I refuse to play another minute until the game is fixed! Which is a shame because it was just getting good, it's no true successor to DA:O which is a shame but it's also not DA2 (thank the heavens!!), it's still pretty darn good. I just wished it was a "fresher" story with more DA:O characters and cameos instead of the toilet remains that is DA2. I hope it doesnt sound like I dislike it, I'm loving DA:I (though not as much as Origins), but I just dont fathom how you bring back characters and story (at least so heavily influenced) by DA2 when Bioware knows it's one of their most hated/disliked game on Bio's resume.

If Bioware could at the very least tell us if it was okay or not to proceed with voice change bug with a patch coming at a later date to resolve the issue, that would be nice, but now in fear that a fix will NOT be a applied if you have continued with the bug... I refuse to play the game further because knowing Bioware they'll say the fix/patch only works if you haven't approached the quest yet or something similar. :/

so many shitty glitches in this game. i have it on ps4 and my guy switched to being british too.
Has anyone else have the dragon glitches, where you put the dragon to ZERO health but it doesnt die and forces you to fight it again and again until it works.
Also when fighting the last dragon on the emprise du lion map, does anybody elses frame rate drop to like 1 frame a second after killing like 30 dragonlings or more?
how bout random game crashes for no reason? that forces you to restart the game?
or how bout when you try to talk to someone and it freezes to the point where you have to skip lines of dialogue?
how bout when you tell your party members to use 2 potions MAX and they dont listen and use as much as they want as they stand in fire and dont move and eventually die. i have 12 potions but whenever i have to use 1, theres only 2 LEFT!? wtf. simple mathematics bioware. come on!
also cassandra doesnt know how to use her shield. ever since i brought blackwall into the party, she goes full retard and dies almost immediately!
Sorry, i had to rant. i needed to get this off my chest. im sure they're more glitches out there that i forgot but hopefully they fix some of these issues. until then i wont be having a second playthrough. i want them to fix it soon so i can try nightmare difficulty out.
besides all the glitches and game breaking bs.... it is a solid game. i had a lot of fun. this was my first DA game. now im playing origins with all the dlc on my pc and maybe DA2 after that.

Anyone else worried that the fix won't be retroactive and basically if you played past that point you're screwed?

Cmon man, warn people before you get into spoilers, no matter how small.

Playing as a female rogue elf and I customized Hawke, but my voice didn't change. Does that mean I should be good to keep playing? Does it change for people right after the cutscenes with hawk or can it change later on?
thanks.

It changes if you don't use the standard British voice for your character. But again, not everyone has this bug it seems, you might have picked the standard voice, or you were lucky.

It only seems to change if you don't use the default voice for your respective race. I got hit with this bug last night using a female dwarf with the British voice.
It happens right away, so you are fine. ![]()
