You could choose to remain faithful in ME2.  But yes, you're right.

My example of course, was Liara. And Lair of the Shadowbroker, the best DLC ever made (imo) basically gave us the same situation that we would otherwise get. Every time, in every game the relationship was basically reset, dismissed with "This isn't the right time for this sort of thing".

You can't even do "something interesting", like make fun of Cassandra, anymore with Dorian after finishing the game.

Whenever I finish the game, Skyhold is only half loaded, and all the characters have disappeared. Post game is a total mess.

As long as the sequels/expansions/DLCs don't split my inquisitor from Cassandra, I'm good.  I can headcanon the marriage/happily ever after stuff.

Seriously, this don't screw this up bioware, the game ended great.  Don't undo that and you'll get all my monies!

That's exactly what happened in ME, with the same damn person, because new customers.

When I referenced ME, I mostly meant a story stretched out over three games with the same protagonist. The ME guys really messed things up for people's romances in those games and that is definitely not something I'd like to see a repeat of.

On one hand marriage is something that hasn't really been handled in a Bioware game. No TOR doesn't count, unless you think walking of camera, and then immediately coming back saying "We're married!" is a sufficient way to handle it.

I cannot see our heroes abandoning their duties to go get hitched in games like Mass Effect or DA:O, but in DA:I? I can't see why it couldn't be squeezed into the story. You are after all a very powerful figure in Thedas both politically and militarily. So throwing a wedding shouldn't be an issue. Plus the game does continue after the ending.

So yeah, I don't see the harm in it. If it were written well.

Well, even in Mass Effect games I can see it being possibly. Not a huge ceremony no, but something like having a small ceremony on the ship or something and then back to work the next day. Sort of like the wedding scene in Mission Impossible III.

I don't think I'd want a wedding scene in DLC because there is no way it could possibly measure up to the giant Disney-style wedding that currently exists inside my head, but I would totally die of happiness if we got a proposal scene as part of a Citadel-style DLC.

Marriage scene ? Really ?

What's next, a divorce cutscene complete with alimony ?

Childbirth!

I will pay my money for such a DLC.  Or your money if you want to give me some money.  Whatever, either is fine by me.

I like the idea of permanence in these romances, and although I understand others would like something else from DLC (and I'm not saying "nope, just marriage for 1.99"), I'd still jump at the opportunity if it arose.  For me, part of the anxiety that arises post game is that never-ending wonder of "what are they doing now?" and this is especially pronounced when it comes to the Inquisitor (or whichever protagonist) and their LI.  The fundamental drive for me is that I've spent a good number of hours investing not only in these characters but their relationship(s).

So, if I'm going to see them again and have a chance to further develop the relationship, then as long as I'm aware of that (as in, am informed by those actually making the game), I wouldn't really need a marriage DLC - I'd still like it.  However, let's say that Inquisition and like DLC is the last time I'll get to see my Inquisitor and their LI, then I'd really like to leave it knowing that "they" (except for you Solas romancers, you're in a real pickle), are happy together.

Whether we see Morrigan again or not, some of the nicest, most satisfying moments for me in Inquisition was her dialogue with my Inquisitor about how she and the HoF are really quite happy with each other and their lives.  So long as whatever comes next isn't hugely tragic, that conversation achieved the kind of closure that I've always thought necessary for Bioware's relationships.  With my Hawke-Merrill romance, although it wasn't as satisfying, it was still comforting to hear that their relationship too was still a basically happy one.

Thus, I'd be quite pleased and very interested in any DLC that either on its own or as part of a grander narrative (the latter seems more likely and more palatable) allowed the Inquisitor and their LI (still not Solas though) to marry or in some way display that they, like HoF-Morrigan if so chosen, Hawke-LI, and to an extent even Shep-LI, will stick together.

That's just me, your experience will vary.

The marriage scenes vary a lot in SWTOR. Doc marrying my JK was hilarious and a lot more involved than wandering off screen for a second. <3

I'm cool with not getting married in these games, though. It's such an easy thing to just privately assume if that's your bag, and you don't have to have that uncomfortable discussion with your LI if it's not.

So much for a happy end. I romanced Josephine.

How come I feel left out?

You can sit in the corner with all us Solas people and we'll share our drinks and violins. :P

I romanced Josephine with my qunari, but for RP reasons didn't complete the romance. So I guess I'm spared there well enough.

Will you marry me?
Inquisitor-kun!?
I love you Cassandra-sama!
Wha- what are you saying? Of course not, b-baka!
I won't lose to you!
*blush*
O-okay... but it's never because I love you or anything... b-baka.
*in awe* Cassandra-sama! Cassandra-sama!
Inquisitor-kuuuuuun!

...

And that's how it'll go if you let most people touch it.

Seriously.

That **** was so bad it made me cringe.

This is SO bad that it's just wonderful :D
I cringe and cracked up. Thank you

Edit: don't get me wrong, i'm a total supporter of marriage/proposal/what have you in game, but this guy made me laugh
