Just a quick tip;

Flank attack can also be used to evade attacks. Especially two-handed attacks and AoE are faily easily evaded by using this skill. If you get aggro, you can evade incoming attacks and instantly stealth (upgrade) and thus losing all aggro.

Once I got the hang of this, bears and similar heavy melee mobs were pretty much no longer a threat to me. I can comfortable evade/stealth tank heavy hitters even solo. With all the stealth, evades, mobility and knockdowns (when enemies are not immune), I rarely get hit at all unless I'm too slow in activating abilities. With a a full group it's lolworthy how untouchable a rogue can be.

That being said, lowbie rogues can be slightly harder to play due to lack of skills and the fact that it plays like no other class in the game.

Also;

I'm trying to build a character that uses "neutral"rogue skills that can switch between dagger and bow.

This is generally a bad idea in this game. You really want to do one or the other.

If you want to switch it up, pick up a respec item from the blacksmith vendor (not actually a vendor, but a banner-like pole that you can interact with). First one is nearly free and any thereafter are 300 or so gold (i think). I switch my rogue from DW to Archer from time to time with this to liven things up a bit. :)

but i still have to ask, what about the bad guys tha have 100% AoE damage, I know there is a "sweet spot" but its such a small spot and I swear the models don't line up correctly on them.

Other than completely sitting out of the fight is there anything (other than guard on hit) you can do? cause you know sitting there doing nothing to contribute is lame.

Know their tells. For instance, before a 2-Hander does those 3 strikes around him, he'll hold his weapon up in the air horizontally. That's when you do two steps back.
