I'm playing on the PC. I've experienced lots of glitches, like seeing the infamous "T" pose, having the game crash to desktop, falling through the level, hardly hearing any follower dialogue in all my 70+ hours, etc., but this is most worrying. I doubt I've reached the level limit, and there's a rift that spits out level 20 demons that I'll never get to close if this goes on. I still get it occasionally, like from some regular enemies and a big dragon, but other than that I don;t get XP and haven't from a while now. Not getting XP or seeing that XP bar go up puts a real damper on things.

 

Has anyone else experienced this glitch?

The only thing I know is that you won't get any XP from killing anything 3 levels below you. Since you didn't state what you were killing, I'm not sure if this applies.

Oh. That's what it must be then. 'It's not a bug, it's a feature!' Thanks for telling me. I wish they had put this info in game. Maybe it's there, but I've never seen it. In that case, close thread, nothing to see here, just misunderstanding. Wish there was more of an order of places to go. It kinda removes drive (for me) when there's no XP gain.

They did. It's one of the hints that occasionally pop up in the game, on your load screen IIRC.

I have seen this message on the xbox 360 version of the game while loading, which states exactly that you DONT get xp for enemies you kill that are 3 levels below you. That you haven't seen said message is either down to the PC port for the game...or you just been unfortunate in not seeing it as yet.

While I haven't had this problem myself I can see where it could be confusing. The loading screens are only up for a few seconds. If the tip is not the first one that shows then you could miss out on other tips. If I hurry I can read the second tip if I hit the arrow key fast enough.

I can testify that this tip correctly appears on the loading screens of the PC version. I've seen it more than once.

The loading screen scrawls are based on Journal entries you've unlocked - the tip on level difference is one of the tutorial entries.

You have outleveled the zone you are in. Happened to me as well, annoying. I want an option to scale enemies to your character's level.
