I'm *not* looking for someone to give me the answer of who to choose.

There is no log that kept the information from the previous missions, so I am at a loss because I spread my play over a couple days and I can't remember.

I just need to know the information given from the previous missions... anyone remember?

Is that the mission with the 5 lovers? If I remember correctly, the previous missions don't really give you that much info, and I don't think it matters which agent you choose to do the mission.

Edit: Ah, did a little bit of digging so choosing the correct agent gives you 100 influence and a helm, the other two give you 60 influence.

The correct agent is

Whoever takes the least amount of time to do the mission is the correct choice. You'd think it has something to do with what's written, the story, and the operation itself. But no, just whoever takes the least amount of time.

That logic can be messed with given that agents provide time bonuses to your wartable ops. I just assumed that the person who was supposed to be best at it took the least time, but I was rather hoping that the outcomes were not the best in those cases. Oh well, I guess they needed an easy enough indicator for those who couldN't be bothered to read the mission descriptions.

You can do fairly quick calculations in your head as to how agents make a difference in the time. But, yes, the shortest (base) time gives the best results for all missions.

As I understand it, the time you see for each agent at the operations table is their base time and once you select them there bonuses are applied, but from what I've heard there are a handful of exceptions to the rule for least time just wins (though very few).

The time reduction from the Agents you've recruited on each of your three inner council is subtracted from the quest's base (normal) time actually. This can be verified easily enough.  Look at the "Gather Coin" repeatable when you first get it. Each has the following times at the start:

Josephine: 48:00

Leliana: 54-55:00*

Cullen: 54-55:00*

I've got 4 agents recruited for each of them and now the current time to complete this quest for me is:

Josephine: 36:00

Leliana: 48:00

Cullen: 48:00

So what you are seeing when you look at a quest on the war table is the time with the agent reductions already added in.

*can't recall if it was 54 or 55 minutes but what's one minute eh :P

While the shortest time may be the best option, it's really just who will complete the operation the fastest.

Sometimes the best results take longer - there's an operation early in the game exclusive to Elves involving making contact with your clan.

Choosing Josephine gives the best result. If you send Cullen (who has the shortest time), you get the worst outcome.

Shortest time =/= best outcome.

This should help: Investigate Hunter Fell. That page includes the full text of the first part of this operation and links to the later parts (Continue Investigation and Identify Venatori Agent). Answers are hidden in spoiler tags so you can just look up the info if you want to solve the puzzle yourself.
