So, I've seen a tab in multiplayer crafting that says "Runes". Of course none of the recipes are available right now, but can I assume they plan on adding them later?

Honestly, I wouldn't get too excited over the "crafting" section. Considering that there are weapons in the MP that pertain to SP specific stats (like focus abilities and +focus) and the rare tier 3 materials still say "no class restriction when crafting armor" (a single player only mechanic) it is VERY likely that the crafting section merely has all of the tabs because the overall menu is just a carbon copy taken from the single player to save time on development.

This is off topic, but how do those materials work in SP?
I was trying to craft some heavy armor for my mage, but even with 25+ materials in my inventory I an still unable to equip it after crafting the armor.

I honestly don't know vortex, I haven't fiddled with crafting much at all in SP. It seems like a poorly implemented system overall. Why bother wasting your resources crafting one of the DOZENS of mediocre schematics the game throws at you when you know that there is a tier 3 schematic for what you are looking for out there somewhere. Even then, it seems like endgame drops are either equivalent or straight up outclass crafted gear, so the entire system just doesn't seem very appealing to me. No idea how the tier 3 rare materials work in that regard.
