I changed my Mouse from a Razer Naga to a new Razer Naga Chroma. but that's about it. I have since tried putting back my old mouse which seemed to help abit but i still get fps drops that i previously did not experience. And it kinda makes no sense that a mouse would create this problem lo
I updated my drivers to the new 344.75 drivers for nvidia but that kept crashing my game due to a directx error so i went back to my 344.11 drivers which were the ones i was using to play DAI for the past 130+ hrs.
hence why i am at my wits end. I am not sure if i should fork out $500+ for a new graphics card if changing the graphics card does not help so any assistance would be greatly appreciated
regards
The error i was getting with the 344.75 drivers was as follows DirectX function "getdeviceremovedreason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("the application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is a design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.") GPU: Nvidia GEforce GTX 670" Driver 34475
I don't get that error with the 344.11 drivers
No, changing the mouse should definitely not have any bearing on what's happening here. By the way, how do you find the Razer Naga Chroma compared to the regular Razer Naga? I have a Razer Naga Epic that I was considering upgrading to a Chroma, but I heard people complaining about the mechanical side buttons being to sensitive and thus leading to accidental key presses when just moving the mouse around?
Try the following to fix the DirectX crash with the 344.75 drivers:
1) Go to C:\Users\Your-Username\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save and delete "ProfileOptions_profile". (Don't worry, you will not loose any of your saves, this will just set your game's graphical settings to low and reset any of your other game settings to default such as keyboard control and subtitles, but you can switch these options back on later).
2) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\directx\redist or to the location you installed the game in, then open DXSETUP and install the DirectX runtime there (if you press install and it says that your computer had it already installed or anything similar to that, then you should be fine and can move on to the next step).
3) Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4, then reboot your computer (if you have it already installed, uninstall it then reinstall it again; note to uninstall any Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 versions and then only install the one that fits your computer's OS - x64 or x84). Link for downloading: http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=30679.
4) Disable Origin in Game, you can find this under Origin > Application Settings > Origin In Game (this may not be necessary, but it will help to reduce stuttering in any case).
5) Launch your game, then go to Settings > Display and switch to "Windowed Fullscreen". Also go to "Graphics" to double check that Ambient Occlusion is turned off. Then quit the game and restart it (because your settings will applied the next time your start the game).

Please let me know if this helps you fix your crashing at all or not! Good luck!
