Has Bioware made any statement whatsoever regarding the many bugs in this game?

It'd be nice if I could watch Cassandra's romance scene, without the dialogue freezing for 1-2 minutes while they're lying naked and awkward on the ground (yes this happens on my PS4 version every time).

or...

Being able to customize Hawke's look without my Inquisitor changing voice.

or...

The game freezing sometimes when I go to my skill tree.

or...

you get the point.

It's been two weeks, can we please get a statement on whether or not you guys are prioritizing on fixing this stuff? I'd like to believe you are, but which bugs are you looking into specifically? When should we expect a patch? etc etc...

I've hit bugs too, and its frustrating, but they'll give a statement when they're ready to do so.  Do you honestly believe posting yet another thread demanding they patch the game, or deliver information on the patch is actually going to speed the process up?

And for crying out loud, of course they're working on patches.  Name one game Bioware has not released patches for in order to try and address issues.  Just have patience.

If you looked in the annoucements, you'd see that they have a thread on the go for PC concerns and bugs a like. If you're console, I'm sure they will have another one soon but PC right now is suffering the most.

I have to say in defense of the game, (and I'm not giving it a pass at all. This game has pissed me off and slightly delighted me in equal measure) I have only run into one bug. I'm on the PC version. I didn't even get hit with the voice bug and I'm shocked. When it didn't happen I honestly thought it was fixed.

I know Bioware has a PC concerns post but I didn't look for any others. They will fix it the problems. What other choice do they have?

Sorry am I DEMANDING, or am I asking?

And I do have patience, but this game more than any other Bioware title, has an absurd amount of bugs still present in the game. No I did not expect a patch by now, but since it's been two weeks I would've liked to have seen a statement regarding these issues.

I certainly feel you. Im sure they are working at it, but unless they updated it recently the mentioned post is basically just a yeah it is messed up. We are looking at it post. It is hard to be patient with so little info. But msure when they have something they will let us know. Still sucks though.

Clearly I thought you sounded demanding.

As for having more issues than any other Bioware title? Balderdash.

Origins had at least as many issues.  So did DA2.  Go and Google the patches for those games, see how many problems they had to fix.  I can't recall a single one that released without issues plaguing many, many people.

Yeah, they said patches are on the way. Patch nr. 2 is apparently supposed to hit soon.

It's funny, I've run into none of those problems. I did have a Direct X 11 error crashing, but I fixed it via driver updates and disabling post process effects.

@DanielCofour @ForgottenWarrior

Thanks for the info! Happy to hear we're getting some patches soon. Be nice if we knew what each patch was aiming to fix though, but hell I'll take it.

Dude no. Those games didn't have as many bugs as this one. DA:I's bugs are so widespread and so bad that it's been a detractor for some review scores. My friend who has the PS4 version, literally stopped playing before the end of Act 1 because of all those serious bugs he was running into. He never had to do that for any Bioware game.

I myself have played over a 100 hours worth at this point, and the game crashed on me at least 8 times now. I've hit many conversations where the dialogue froze. I can't enjoy my romance scene with Cass because this happens every time. Around 10% of the time when I go to my ability tree the game will freeze. I can't choose Custom Hawke without my voice changing. I mean these are the worst of the bugs I'm running into, but it's the tip of the iceberg. Did previous Bioware games have glitches? Yes they did. But not like this.

So, how many games did you ever play that didn't have any bugs? And with the more complex mechanics of choices having lasting effects throughout the game, I'm actually pretty amazed there are so few. I don't think I know many games that had less issues, except perhaps for a couple of scrolling shooters.

tldr;

Overreacting much?

OP, are you under the impression that there is some sort of industry norm for companies to lay out for their forumgoers exactly what issues they're working on and when a patch can be expected? Because software development, and commercial development in general, really just doesn't work that way.

Simple point. We shouldn't be beta testers. We paid top dollar for a new game. It's not like we got it through trade in gamestop used. And yet more and more of these companies pull this crap. We paid for a product. It should be a product that works well with very minimal glitches and bugs. The fact of the matter is that you do better if you wait six months because then you never see this stuff. Nearly every game I've gotten has been at least that long after release (barring maybe two titles) and there's always an update and I never see all the bugs and glitches that I had read about which kept me from buying straightaway.

People should be demanding. If you think they shouldn't you are allowing yourself to be a PAYING BETA TESTER.

I doubt it, most of them are on a vacation right now. Believe it or not, they have lives and are human beings as well. Funny right?

Funny thing. All the games I have played that were bought months after release had patches so I never had bugs in them like I see here now that I have bought a new game unpatched. Fact is that people who buy new are clearly used to this and what they don't realize is that this crap should already be fixed. It's not like it's some rare or unique bug. I worked in software and system testing for years and this sort of thing - the bugs I've come across - they are the type that would have been handled before release. But that company was thorough. It was unacceptable to them to release something that would be inferior and not working as it should.

You are right now nothing more than a paying beta tester. You accept it because you want to play. Having experience in the industry, I find it highly unacceptable because these are wildly common bugs that have so many reports of it happening that the only way they missed it is because they chose to ignore it and fix it later. These bugs HAD to have happened during testing (if they even did testing which I have to wonder how extensive that was given what I've seen). So that means the were deliberately ignored for the time being and they would patch it later fully aware that their customers would experience these problems during their gameplay. That is what bioware thinks of you. Defend them if you like. Be snide if you like. But you are paying for a product filled with bugs that they put aside so they could release it that way knowingly for you to pay top price and pad their coffers.

Same, not a single issue. I use Mantle instead of DX11.

They also have jobs. It was their job to fix these things. They failed. I've seen teams of developers on various projects have to work on something until it gets gone right. Not that they shouldn't have lives but when you have a deadline (like a game release date) that is the priority. The product should be working properly without these ridiculous bugs.

Please go outside and gain some perspective.

I have a perspective. It is that of one who worked in the industry and knows that when something like this is released with this many bugs that they company really doesn't care about how they release the product. They are only concerned with making a deadline and getting the initial cash flow which is often the largest as it generally declines from there. My perspective is a perspective that few have. It's educated and experienced. Perhaps you should keep the snide comments to yourself.

Hit a new bug. Got the Dragon in Exalted Plains down to 0 HP. Boss didn't die, just stood there for 5 minutes. Had to reset the game and do the fight all over again.

I get that some of the people on here are loyal to Bioware. But there's being loyal, and there's being a total sheep. You can criticize your favorite companies and still be loyal to them. If anything it's more healthy to criticize their faults than to just eat up everything they dish to you. DA:I is in pretty bad shape when it comes to how many bugs are in the game.

Exactly what part of this thread am I overreacting? Is requesting any feedback regarding the many serious bugs in the game I purchased your definition of "overreacting"?

Am I insulting anyone? No.

Am I yelling and caps locking? No.

Am I trying to band together people to riot against Bioware? No.

Am I trying to send them hundreds of cupcakes in protest of the game? No.

I'm asking questions regarding the bugs in the game I purchased two weeks ago. And to answer your question, I have purchased many many many many many many many many (did I say many?) games that didn't have any bugs I would run into without actively trying to break the game.

If anyone is acting inappropriate, it's how defensive some of you are getting. I adore Bioware. But that doesn't mean their immune to criticism.

Yep.

It's called an eventual patch.

Better get a good patch.

Rather than a patch that makes more bugs.
