I have a persistent problem with my ranged rogues. Initially, they stay at range as they should, but if enemies close up, they don't retreat but instead continue to shoot at point-blank range. The result: more often than not, if left on their own, my ranged rogues tend to take several healing potions' worth of damage in one fight. And no, using one of the jumping talents alone doesn't make them back out far enough.
So, Bioware, please make it so that ranged party members retreat out of melee range automatically. It should not be so hard to implement, considering that even games as old as BG1 and BG2 knew how to do it.

This also happens to mages, but not quite as often, for some strange reason.
