Alright, so I did something crazy and decided to play the game I paid for, waiting for Bioware to patch the accent bug.

SO, I am now level 18, and still at the part where I have to do the quest that switches your accent...at any rate, did I screw myself? I am playing on Nightmare, and do not wish for the game to be a cakewalk.

I am planning on completing all the side content before completing the game...will I have a cakewalk or will the game scale to my awesomeness?

The quests after that moment have upper level bound at 15 - so they'll probably be easy.

The next one is capped at 19.

As for those further, I don't know.

Only if you did the side quest, "Screw Yourself."

Sorry. What's your definition of screwing yourself? Most bad guys don't level with you. The accent change reverts races to their default choices, so if you picked the default choice (for a human male, it's an english accent) then it won't affect you at all.

Accent change? Is that a bug or something that's supposed to happen? 3/4 through, never noticed any difference in accent from when I started.

I'm a human male with an American accent, and so is my character :D

I meant screwed as if I out-level content and the game becomes a cakewalk, even on Nightmare

@ Sirjoe

It happens during the "From the Ashes" quest when you get Skyhold, and choose a certain option other than the "default" option and do not have the BREETESH accent if you are a human.

Basically, humans/elves default to the British accent, Dwarve/Qunari default to the American accent. So if you were to make a Dwarf inquisitor with a British accent, there's a chance (I don't actually know if it's a 100% chance) that if you choose to customize a certain someone who shall not be named (as though everyone doesn't know who I'm talking about already), your Dwarven inquisitor may suddenly find that they've adopted a new American accent.

It's a bug. It happens when you meet Varric's friend. It reverts the PC to the voice default for its race. If you had already chosen the default, you wouldn't have seen any change.

Worth nothing that this only happens if you choose to customize the friend.  If you choose the default, it's completely fine.

Hunh. Didn't realize. Actually I didn't realize any of this until after the fact, since I chose the happy British accent to begin with.

Dido I did the same, I was bummed my "Varrics friend" didn't look like Varrics friend I know but I was afraid to touch them after I reloaded to get my voice back to normal.

Interesting. I play with no sound so I never noticed if it changed or not. I use subtitles and watch TV while playing.

Just out of curiosity is it possible to set enemy levels through console commands? That might get rid of some of the over leveling problems people have been having.

Anyway.....

I think i'm in the same boat, and it sucks. I wanto explore the world before i finnish the main quest but i don't wanto just steamroll the last boss or something, i'm lvl17 and have something like 3-4 areas left to explore but apparently i'll just spoil my own game by doing it.

I like that missions and areas have a minimum level, but why the low upper cap? Atleast the last mission could scale to your level.

There's no upper level cap... that would mean you couldn't do the mission if you were above that level :P

Can't honestly tell if you're beeing a smart ass for the sake of it or if you're just unreasonably anal that i wrote "upper cap" instead of just "cap"... or both

There is a point... a cap if you will... where enemies won't level any higher. You know, kinda what the thread is about, you know the one you've contributed absolutely **** all to?

Wow.

I used to play Rollercoaster Tycoon that way as a kid. Our PC had no sound card.

I just did the last mission of the game and it listed as recommended levels 16-19.  I think the "cap" comes into place where you won't earn any xp from enemies that are more than three levels below you.  In other words, you can't go into the forest and hunt boars for seven weeks to level up.  Was there some other cap I missed?
