Solas' romance is a problem because depsite all the drama and the angst, you don't get content with him for a good third to half of the game.

Cassandra I'm simply not attracted to. She's too gruff and her accent grates on my nerves.

Just because they're important characters doesn't mean I want to romance them. Krem I'm attracted to and I think he has an incredibly powerful backstory that pulls me in every time. I go through every bit of possible Krem dialogue, but only speak to Cassandra if necessary.

You're attracted to Krem and somehow Cassandra, this woman:

Spoiler

Is too gruff?

Bahahaha, I'm sorry, that's some funny ****. Honestly.

Wow, excuse me for not having the same preferences as you. You really seem to be trying to aggravate me tonight and I don't understand why.

If you don't like Krem why not just go to your darling Cassandra thread and talk about how great she is?

Haha, lol you can have whatever preferences you want. And I'm aloud to laugh if I want. Which I am.

Ahh, goodnight. lol

Sorry to come off totally stupid and stuff, but before joining your fun I'd like to get something straight: Krem being transgender does not make him a biological man, right? I always thought he were a woman, just dressing and, thus, living as a man. So it never bothered me that it's a female voice (I was surprised when the Chargers tavern scene came up because it had not crossed my mind that Krem could be a guy). In fact it is necessary because it's a female body with female hormones after all.

Or did I miss something?

I do have a small problem with the word "biological man," but I think here's not the place for that. But if you mean if he, say, has body parts commonly associated with female body, then yes, since he talked about his binding.

He was not a woman though. He is a man, and of course, as a man, living as a man.

Hopefully I do justice for this. You might get a better explanation from transgender men though.

I am sorry, I do not know how to express it better.
Yes, I mean the body parts but also hormones and stuff. You can cut off the breasts and build the other external organs (sorry for speaking so weirdly, I want to avoid the word filter to slap me across the face) but that will not change the internal factors, you would need to change the hormone balance to, e.g., change the voice. That is what I meant with "biological man".
And I thought so just because of the binding you mentioned, too.

Yes, biologically Krem is female.. There is no genuine argument there.
A little bit of cognitive dissonance for you.
Regardless, Krem is a female, but out of respect for Krem and parts of the trans community...... despite a personal belief it's rude to some to refer to Krem as a female.

Biologically, yes, Krem is indeed a woman. That is undeniable. Socially, people accept Krem as a man, so people don't mind calling Krem as such, and that's what they'll say Krem is. I don't personally care what people want to call themselves. So long as of course, they don't try telling me biologically or otherwise, they are the same as me. So for this thread to them, Krem is a dude. You can call Krem a he if you want, I just call Krem Krem since for me this is really strange and I honestly couldn't stick to it. But I won't purposefully call Krem a she either for no reason.

I'm not sure I quite get it. But anyway. My point is: the voice must be female, that's just logical, no matter how Krem is depicted otherwise. If you think it's rude I refer to him as "he", I am sorry, but he clearly seems to prefer that in game so why would I not?

Lot of transpersons IRL practice to change their voice to reflect their gender. It takes some training I believe. Also lot of transpersons take hormons and I think those will change voices as well after sometime. In Krem's case I think he can only rely practising his voice.

We don't know if Krem is trying to change his voice at all. He could naturally sound like that.

Exactly. And we don't have enough information on hormone therapy in Thedas. It's probaby not as advanced as ours. So all that's left is magic and Krem seems to dislike that approach. And maybe he has been practicing? The voice is not that bad after all, I have guys at work who sound a lot more feminine.

Hahahahah only if it was a hate thread.
It got closed after 12 pages because of two individuals who were bitter and decided to report it.
Man, have you ever seen hate? Because that thread was far from hate.
I would talk on the Krem general discussion thread, but those always get closed because of immature people who rather report...then see another POV.
To equate my opinion of Krem to hate shows your ignorance, either you didn't actually read the thread and my posts or you are foolish.

Oh, I've experienced hate quite a bit so I think I can spot it rather easy now, after reading the first eight pages of that thread I think I could see what was going on. Hate gets veiled in differing of opinions all the time but since I'm ignorant and foolish maybe I don't know what it looks like. Wait I lost my parents and some friends to hate when I transitioned, maybe I know what it looks like after all.

Please save me the pity story. If we are going to compare such things you will lose. Normally I'm always civiil and try my best to be polite to the feelings of others but it's tiring at this point, if you are going to sit there and talk about me masking my hate.

I have no problem with transgender characters in games, gender identity doesn't matter to me. People are people. I have a friend who is transgender, I guess I deep down just hate him too right?( sorry pat I guess I hate you) Everyone experiences hate, everyday of their life's, let's not pretend any if us are above dishing it out or being on the other end of it.

That thread was started for the reason, that Krem is a poor character. I get people have masked their hate many times times in these forums, through their opinions. But please stop assuming you know hate well enough to know if it's being masked, because this time you are wrong. Going around excusing people is wrong, doing it as blindly as you are, is just pure ignorance.

For the record, IMO, Krem is boring, dull, with clunky dialogue that gives the impression it was forced into the conversation rather than occurring naturally. That's all that thread was. So please stop assuming things.

It seems that appreciation thread is slowly turning into hate thread. Seriously, haters- you really don't have anything better to do? Why do you guys feel a strong urge to waste your time on pointless conversations about fictional character that you hate so much? Just because he's different?

Well, congratulations.

I like how it's chuck who's getting accused of being hateful and I'm the one that... you know, I actually didn't even criticize the character... I just said I didn't think Krem sounded like a man, and that the notion Krem would make a better romance than Cass was hilarious. And I still think it is, lol.

Anyway, if you're going to accuse someone of hate, at least point that crap to the right person. I'm out anyway though. Krem doesn't interest me enough to stay here, and I'm certainly not interested in pointless bickering and assumptions. Bye.

I honestly don't know what you are talking about, name one time I've been a "hater"?
In fact I stood up for Krem and trans people alike, and tried to clear it up that it was rude to refer to Krem as a chick...

o.o I say we all just sit back and remember that this dull and forced character is fictional.
