Well considering he's a trans character and she's an amazing voice actress, it only makes sense.

I had no idea. I was confused as to what was going on with that character because they used the male body type with a female voice. At first I actually thought he was a guy with a higher pitched voice or something. Then I thought he might be a she with a male body. Honestly, the whole thing was just confusing.

Hahahahah only if it was a hate thread.
It got closed after 12 pages because of two individuals who were bitter and decided to report it.
Man, have you ever seen hate? Because that thread was far from hate.
I would talk on the Krem general discussion thread, but those always get closed because of immature people who rather report...then see another POV.
To equate my opinion of Krem to hate shows your ignorance, either you didn't actually read the thread and my posts or you are foolish.

I'm willing to acknowledge that when you're on, you're very good at it. But this was just lazy. And playing the victim card is just sad. 0/10. I'm only giving you a score so that you will try harder in the future. Reach for that rainbow!

We've made an awesome KREM shirt (chair standing and all) and all proceeds go to the Trans Lifeline, which opened recently.

Since this is fanthread, some fanart might brighten it up:

^That second drawing makes me wish I could have Krem as a companion so that I could take him with Iron Bull and see their banters.

And damn... swoon at the third one

Considering how BW handles companions I assume Krem as a companion would make the character seem a lot less random and forced to most people.

I must admit, I find it difficult to actively like Krem. I appreciate what BioWare tried to do but I also think that they did not give him the attention he would have needed to really show personality. All I know about Krem is that he's a fun guy. That is nice but the scenes are too few and too far in between. Of course, I hear the back story but usually only from the very few and restricted "static" dialogues. This does not touch me much emotionally. It is the sort of conversation I have with somebody I meet in a bar and never see again. I usually do not connect with NPCs (not even companions, Alistair being the only exception) right away. It takes some time and interaction (cutscenes, banter, missions). Krem does not have that and so he always is just... there.

I feel lack of character development and attention is something that every NPC outside your inner circle and maybe Harding suffers from in DA:I. Where are the interesting side characters? There are none giving side quests, those are all just cardboard cutouts with one or two lines of dialogue. There are none in the main plot either, even the important ones like Celine, Gaspard, Briala, and Fiona are as interesting and memorable as a piece of stale white bread (the end piece that nobody wants!). I wish all the NPCs had been taken up several notches and had fit with the quality of other BW games.

I agree but I do not think it is feasible. The game is pretty big and we get a lot more romance options (in total at least) than previously. I assume they had neither the time nor the budget.

I personally would have preferred the game to be much smaller (I could have done without the millions of shards and a few other side objectives) and instead focus more on the people and interactions. More family quality time.

I am also a bit sad that BW (again) locked me out of scenes for not romancing characters. They said beforehand they would design the game with more respect to friendship but I feel it is the same thing as before: I never find out that Josephine should be forced into an arranged marriage, just as an example (the other examples I do not know... for obvious reasons). I feel that is taking away character development. Why lock me out? She could face the same problem, simply not with me dueling in order to win her heart. Nobody even mentioned it at all. So after all we are still "rewarded" for romancing instead of simply making it a choice for those who want a fuzzy feeling inside.

A few less random side missions here and here and a few more recorded lines and interactions to let me bond with the people... well, can't have everything, I assume.

Oh I agree. As pretty as the world is it's so empty and pointless. I wish they had made the size of world they'd had in KotOR, Jade Empire, DA:O, ME1, etc...(just not DA2) and kept the interesting side quests with interesting NPCs. They just don't understand why people like their games and they didn't understand what people liked about Skyrim.

Well, judging from what I see in game some survey must have found out people liked Skyrim particularly for the skull-decorated urns and the Dwarven centurions...

And LI but considering how he can die in DAI it's unlikely. I think Leliana is only immortal one in the series ^^

We never saw him dead after all. He might have been struck down, the Venatori left, he awoke again, got up and went home. I've read enough comic books to know there's always ways to make things happen. Just saying...

Oghren is immortal so far and who knows, maybe Anders will come back from the dead a second time (he better not).

I do see that happen actually. So his... fans... can kill him again. Some things just need to be done right.

Well that's true. So then him being companion and LI could work out without it being retcon. Maybe he'd just have burn scar from the battle or something similar.

I mean, of course I wish he had more scenes, but I feel like I personally got enough dialogue with him. But that's why I want him as a companion, because I know there's a deeper side hidden behind the fun guy persona.

Yeah, I got enough of him to like him as more than "the trans character". Of course, I latched onto him because he was "the trans character" and was a great portrayal, but I've since learned more about him through talking to him and Bull, and discovering banters that discuss him. I still want more, though, lol.

Minirant time: I'm loving all the fan art, but I'm slightly annoyed that so many artists are making him this super uber masculine macho man. It's like they draw a traditional masculine male manly man body and slap a binder on it and call it Krem. In the game, he doesn't have super broad shoulders and a giant cut jawline. A guy can be a guy and masculine without being a bodybuilding caricature. The designers of his character in the game did a great job of creating someone who could be a cis guy, but who has a few clues(his jawline, for example) that let who he is shine through.

Showing these features isn't a bad thing! It doesn't make him less of a man to draw him with slight hips or a softer jawline(I love his jawline, it's wonderful, but it isn't super macho square, either). I don't know if people are afraid of making him look too feminine in fear of insulting trans guys, or if people just want to draw some macho fantasy of him, but it's frustrating. It's better than the arts that overly feminize him, but some just go too far in the other direction. [/rant]

I wouldn't actually know. In game I've only seen him in his armor and it's hard to expose a slender frame in that. Even my elf resembles Hulk to an extend wearing heavy armor. However, maybe that fan art is actually meant as an appreciation of his roguish nature and not meant to transform him into something he isn't.
