Haha, yeah - it was pretty hilarious when my female mage was wielding that giant sword. I almost felt like I should have just had Cass or Blackwall do it for me.

 

I adore the discussion with Krem about his thoughts behind being trans. Where he says "Every day I would put on a dress, look in the mirror, and just hate myself." It was just a really powerful discussion. 

 

Yeah, I found it rather affecting to talk to Krem about what his life was like - in some ways similar to Dorian having to hide who he was. *hugs Dorian and Krem* I even felt sorry about Krem's dad - that story was a bit depressing.

My first inquisitor (a qunari) asked the first question, but then avoided the rest of those because he's an open-minded guy and Bull pretty much laid it out for him.  No reason to continue questioning.

 

Glad to see that when the thread went bad, it was quickly responded to.  I missed the whole thing because I was in a meeting.  Glad to come back to a chill and fun thread!

 

I must have missed it. I was confused on if Mod02 was saying that we couldn't talk about gender identity at all, but I guess comments were deleted? Be nice if we could get more clarified feedback for those who may see their comment, but not know what caused it. We know this is going to be a touchy thread and discussion.

I had just gotten a call on the 18th that I was going to get to start hormones, so yeah, there was like a weird squee-almost-cry thing going on in my living room during Kremtalk. Darn Bioware, playing with emotions like this.

I was sort of touched by the way Krem got sent off by Iron Bull.

 

Qunlat isn't normally a language i associate anything good with...but.

Krem was cool, liked his personality and humor, so just as soon as I can get around to Bull's quest, I will be saving Krem and all the Chargers. Sorry, warship full of qunari, but my friends are kind of more important than a temporary alliance!

Talk about the easiest Bioware choice ever. Hmm, should I save a ship full of communazi zealots who would kill or brainwash me for not accepting their truth, or a gang of lovable rogues that have interesting stories and are as loyal as a granite mountain. Hmmmm...

So far I didn't go into Bull's personal quest (damn, reading this thread spoiled some stuff for me, I should not have come here), but I did have a conversation with Chargers, where my Inquisitor said to Krem that "You don't need to pose as a man to be a soldier" and he said he's not posing as anyone. All of that was pretty level headed and polite, without much tension. Good dialogue.

 

I also liked how Bull confirmed my suspicions, that people who have different psychological gender than physical, are treated as if they were of the psychological one under the Qun. I was convinced that it wouldn't make sense for a woman who feels that she is a man to be treated like woman under the Qun, as she obviously wouldn't fit that 'role'. *

I was happy to see that I was able to understand the Qun pretty well.

 

Krem trading joking insults with Bull during their dialogues was kind of fun. A really cool character. 

Sadly, if what I spoiled for myself in this thread is any indication, if my Inquisitor will be doing Bull's personal quest, Krem will die in that playthrough. Not because of my Inquisitor's prejudice or anything like that, but because if he has to choose between military or political power and possible companions/'friends', he'll choose power (or more influence for the Inquisition) every time.

My God I love Krem so much. They just pack so much awesome into one character, in a game filled with awesome characters, and he still manages to stand out.

 

He's so chill and comfortable with himself (now) and it's heartwarming and inspirational, even if you don't really relate directly you can really feel for this guy. 

 

 

And just when I thought he wasn't cool enough, you find he's voiced by the great Jennifer Hale.

 

Apologies to the Ben-Hassrath, but no amount of Qunari Dreadnoughts is worth losing those smooth Kreminals.

 

Can we demand a Bull's Chargers DLC? I want to hang out with the whole gang even more.

( And selfishly I've always been a huge Jennifer Hale fan so more of her is always a good thing. )

Krem's awesome, and I applaud Bioware for putting a trans character in the game.
But he just won't talk to my Inquisitor! I've read about this really awesome conversation you can have where the Inquisitor asks him about his past and how his parents reacted to his situation, but I never get the option to initiate a dialogue when I speak to him, even though I'm friendly with Iron Bull and I don't think I've ever said anything to offend. Could this just be a bug?

Have you had the cutscene where you talk to Iron Bull and the Chargers? After that is when Krem's dialogue opens up.
