I've noticed that I have a knack for making pretty male elves. Not handsome, pretty. I thought the first one I made was just a freak accident but after three, I don't think I need any more proof.

Lots of great male elves. For those who have male elves and have posted some great shots of their face, does the arm issue bother you frequently? Considering rolling one but I don't want to get 75% of the way through Hinterlands and go "AHHHHHHH" and throw my character into the trash.

It honestly depends on the armor you put on him. There are "looks" I simply avoid like mad, that tend to make the arm issue blatant and obvious. There are also some scenes that you just can't avoid the issue at all. The one that comes to mind is the immediate end of the initial Val Royeux scene, after the Templars march out and your group lines up to watch them go.
But by and large, I have managed to successfully enjoy my guy elves regardless.

I just eyeballed the whole process, making sure to check both front, 3/4th, and profile view as I went. And I ended up with a good looking head on my elf. (ignoring the horrendous modeling job of the male body)

The new and improved Fintan. Changed his hair colour from brown to black straight after the prologue because oh boy that lighting was horrid. Hope Dorian's ready for him, because I sure am ready for them.

No doubt that a great looking male elf face can be made. It's the rest of the body that looks atrocious, especially in the skyhold pajamas. PC owners can mod for some nice textures, but I can't get over the first scene in Haven when you wake up in your pajamas, and you look like a bobble head.

maliluka, he looks great, with a lot of personnality (and flowing georgeous hair, may I say)
Bigdawg: Regarding the arm issue, to be honest I noticied it at first then I got used to it. In some armors (the Dalish one for rogues for exemple) it doesn't show as much.
I tried an awesome mod that give your elf broader shoulders and stature. It was excellent work but I got so used to the male elf thin arms that I could not play any other way and got back to the vanilla male elf model

Skaramoosh, Ellesar is unique. A loveable face, yet with an air of nobility to him.
KnottSoFast (your profile picture is perfect, btw) He looks great ! He looks young yet... determined (and for some reason he reminds me a bit of Sebastian Vael)
Renee, I would have never guessed he was a male elf while looking only at his face (good job!) he looks adorable.
sanserif , you already win everything with that Bowie reference! great choice of hair/eye colour matching btw!
Grog, the three of them look awesome but I have a soft spot for Eglerion. I love that this delicate looking guy rocks the Nightmare difficulty.
phyreblade, indeed his eyes are striking, very expressive (he looks like he needs of a hug, I hope he is given tons of it)

An udpate on Arakan. You have no idea how thankful I am to modders. Now my shabby elf looks how I wanted him to before I started playing
I don't know if he is decent but he is tons of fun to play.

I made a new elf I'm probably never going to play him though , I can't even remember how I named him to be honest..
I wanted to go with an Elven Loghain.With the Black hair/piercing blue eyes.
I think he looks fine.

I've scanned the "Realistic Facial Proportions" thread here in Character Customization, but for the life of me, I can't seem to come up with a face that I'm really happy with, and one that matches the voice (British) that comes out of his mouth.
Anyone with a male elven inquisitor feel like sharing their customization process or choices in the CC? Which preset/face shape/complexion to take? I know the hairstyle I want to sort of shape it around (the cropped/shaved hairstyles), but I know such aesthetics come later...

Picking one of the smaller, longer faces will save you a lot of headache and keeps you from looking like a bobble head. Also making the jaw more squarish tends to have a better outcome. And I always pick the bald head first, then do everything else and put the hair on last. It gives you a better image of how the face as a whole looks.

He looks great! That hairstyle works well with his face, and I like that you chose a face texture with imperfections.
Eliantariel, he is a beauty as always (I wonder which voice you chose for him?)
And just some vallaslin appreciation with a different hairstyle. I just discovered that my computer could run the ultra settings and I am marvelling at every single texture and effect. The inked skin looks great.
Hey Chlorite this elf looks awesome. I'd love to play as a character looking like this. You don't happen to have sliders for him? ^^
