There isn't a new game plus unfortunately, only a continuation. Probably to make DLC easier.

When does DA ever have NG+?

I don't see what DLC has to do with NG+. The substantive problem is that DAI doesn't have robust enough scaling to make NG+ work, unless the point of NG+ is to curbstomp everything.

Dragon Age has never had that feature and it doesn't now.

That's not a bioware thing. They've never done it and I doubt they ever will. They actually *want* you to play the game fully. ![]()

This is the one BioWare game I would be ecstatic to replay in NG+ format, because the prospect of grinding through the world again any time in the next 18 months is not something I treasure, but I wouldn't want to replay the game at a low level either as I don't care for challenge runs. I suppose if I choose to replay prior to ~2016 I'll simply roll Casual!
its what i did for my second playthrough of DA2. Story run

I don't know what the level cap in DAI is, but I doubt I'm going to hit it in one playthrough, DLC included, if the past is any indication.
Mostly, I want to be able to have a whole game to play with the fun stuff you get at high levels, ability wise (at the very least) and to not worry overmuch about flower picking. Especially considering that here, as in many of Bioware's other games, the PC is not necessarily a nobody just starting out. Your companions certainly aren't (Cassandra killed a dragon and saved a city when she was like 16 - and she's still level 1? I mean I get it, but ya know).
It would also make something like a nightmare run more attractive for me personally, because I'd like a decent challenge to face with a lot of powerful tools at my disposal from the beginning.

Wouldn't playing on nightmare while really overgeared kind of defeat the purpose? Or does the game scale up to meet you in this plus thing?

I have no idea. I've never tried a nightmare run on any of the games. I'd like a bit of a challenge but I don't want to throw my controller.
I'm playing on normal right now, as I usually do the first time through, and it's a little easy (no deaths yet). I'm assuming from what other people report about the setting that it might be just what I'm looking for, assuming I have some decent toys to play with.

Would like the ability to have the ME2 thing where you could get some materials loaded up to start. I don't think i will mind playing the game. I will mind picking more rocks and weeds. Maybe do a Borderlands type thing where all my builds can share crafting materials so that my first overpicker can take the bullet for the rest of the inquisitors I make.

It would be a nice touch to be able to carry over inq perks, so that on subsequent play throughs you could aim to get all of them, which is impossible in one playthrough.
