Well, Sera is an Elf, right? A city elf from Denerim, but nevertheless, a "full Elf".

Now I found a T3-schematic for a rogue armour, something like "Dalish Scout..."

I crafted one for Sera and... she cannot equip it, because it requires "elf training".

I think, that's not ok.

Your opinions?

She's not elf trained. That's why it specifically says trained.

Given how Sera is most anti-Elfy character among your companions ,i think that it ties nicely with he personality.

Since she's not elf trained (by which they appear to mean Dalish) then she cannot equip it, seems simple to me. Sera is a true elf, Alistair (for instance) is a half elf, in Thedas your either an elf or your not, doesn't seem to matter if your mom or dad was an elf as you can pass for human so there is really no such things as a half elf.

Sera has/had human parents from what i read. So she is a city elf with a human perspective.

Seems unlikely...she was 'adopted' by a human noble, maybe that's the human parent you mean.

elf + elf = elf

elf + human = human

At least thats been the established lore since Origins.

Yeah, it was strange that he was so elven looking.......I was never sure if it was intentional or if the character started out as elvish, then they changed him to half elven and they just didn't change him to match the lore.

Pretty sure it's the Dalish thing that's tripping you up with that piece. It's a not so subtle way to limit it to the Dalish Inquisitor. So far I've seen a couple of pieces of armor and some weapons, mostly the pre-order stuff, but not all of it, that's limited to the Inquisitor.

How does one even get trained in being a race?  Are elves forced to sleep overnight in the woods while chewing on bark and feeling sorry for themselves?  Do the clothes repel off of their bodies otherwise?

OP I posted a similar thread earlier today, i totally agree with you.
All these people saying that "oh it really fits well into that she's anti-elf and it's a conscious choice"
Bulls***, it's another bug that they need to get around to fixing. Seriously I've played through sera's quests and all her dialogue and what not and her personal story is just awful, there's just no reason for her to even be an elf but the fact that she is: should be able to wear elf gear, end of.

Not trained at being an elf, trained by elves.

Yes, but trained by elves to wear clothing seems a bit silly narratively-speaking, unless it were class-specific (aka Keeper gear).  Would rather it have just been restricted to the Quizzie, since who besides them is Dalish if we're getting picky?

It's still ridiculous, not being able to wear a piece of armor because of your race makes perfect sense, "oh well obviously my qunari can't wear this top that was made for a dwarf".

Sera shouldn't need special elven training to wear a Dalish scout coat, it's a bit of leather and twigs and netting (Judging from how it looked on Solas).
It's not like it's even that heavy, Having to be trained to wear power armor in fallout made perfect sense etc.

Doesn't require Dalish.

But Solas should have the training, though the OP did say it was rogue armor.

Yeh this is a weird one, Solas can't actually wear the armor but for some reason you can see what it looks like on him in the crafting screen....whereas you can't do this with Sera.....which further suggests to me that this is Buggy Buggsville from Bugtown.

My Qunari can't wear helmets at all.

But you can still preview Templar helmets for some reason. The bug isn't necessarily that she can't wear it.

FYI, the horns just clip through if you're wondering.

I had a similar problem with something called the 'Vir Banal'ras' I think it was. Hint might be in the name, who knows? It's a rogue-only, elf-trained only armour.

While I agree that it seems sort of odd to have a piece drop that no one can wear (my Inquisitor was neither elf nor rogue), wasn't there a lot of emphasis on your companions having their own 'individual style' and/or 'personal aesthetic?' So there's just no way that Sera would be caught dead wearing anything remotely 'elfy,' is there? Quite frankly, I find it somewhat creepy that she spends so much time being all 'boo, elfy elves are the worst!' but she keeps making these weird backhanded 'you're really attractive' comments about my Dalish elf that I'm sure she never said to Trevelyan. Then again, Sera and Vivienne are two I haven't really bothered with trying to bond with yet so there's probably something going on there that's just over my head right now. Or...y'know...this is a bug and I'm being 'too forgiving' or something. xD

The mage armour that is elf-trained, mage-only, Solas could wear. But he's a walking jumble of contradictions at the best of times.

You can make class free armour with certain materials, so Solas *could* wear the rogue armour, it's why there's a model for dwarf warden-mage robes (yet there's no models for Qunari warden armour of any class..)

I haven't checked, but can Sera wear the Orlesian Rogue armor?  The one that says "human-trained only"?

If she can wear it, then the game is somewhat internally consistent...  If she can't wear it, then there's even less of a reason as to why she can't wear the dalish rogue armor.

Sera wets her panties if you show up as a qunari and does a poor attempt at Cassandra's (Disgusted noise) when you show up as an elf. Or at least pulls a face that fits with Cassandra's (Disgusted noise)

I'd argue she'd (Disgusted noise)s any sort of gear away that is 'too elfy', especially Dalish armor :P

Then I see forward to find something for Cole which requires "spirit trained" or "half demon trained"...

;)

She is a bit tall for an elf. But I'll keep my theories elsewhere.

You also have to consider she probably wouldn't have taken kindly to wearing something that the Dalish made, given her opinions on them.
