Because illuminati/Masonic symbols are all over this game. Cassandra's armor and shield, the quest map with the Pyramids marking your location, the owl statues all over the place, Sola's room thats painted with all seeing eyes everywhere, and Sun icons. If you're a mage even your some of your spells reflect the influence....Fire mine lays down a Pyramid and eye animation, energy barrage has a pyramid  animation....I mean do they even have real Pyramids in thedas? I just thought it was interesting.

Everything is considered an illuminati symbol to anyone who actually believes in this kind of nonsense. If you actually knew anything about the game you would know the Eye symbol is the Sigil of the Seekers of Truth, the eye being a metaphor for them being "all seeing" seekers of truth. Seeing as Cassandra was a member of this order it makes perfect sense it would be on her armor and shield.

that doesn't make him wrong.  There very well may be people that work there that have an intense interest in those type of things...maybe they are practicing freemasons.  The whole "seekers of truth" fits into the whole spiel.  That could be the reasoning behind the choices made before dragon age even existed.  Or it could just be anything else under the sun.  Won't really know unless they say themselves.  And not everything is a symbol...its actually a pretty specific and short accepted list.

Even if people think its far fetched, it is possible.  Many people find that subject matter interesting even if they don't buy into all of it.  Either way we don't know.

Part of the reason that stuff sticks in the cultural consciousness is because the iconography is really neat. So Occam's Razor, they just like the way that stuff looks.

Ah the "Illuminati" a "secret" organization that everyone knows of who are bent on world domination...we have dismissed that claim.

We have the entire history of the real Illuminati which was founded by Adam Weishaupt, an organization that soon went defunct and existed centuries ago. Apart from music videos containing the eye symbolism (something these artists do simply to fuel further conspiracy theorists) there is little evidence of them still existing or controlling the world (and the original organization wasn't even formed to control but to lessen the state's control on their country).

There's no conspiracy stuff in the game OP. Bioware aren't interested in that nonsense. The all-seeing eye isn't just a symbol the Illuminati used and I didn't even think anything of it when I saw it in Inquisition.

The whole universe of Dragon Age is inspired into real life things, most in medieval history.

This apply the same way onto Mass effect universe, where you can see that is Heavy inspired by Most of the Sci-fy movies of the last 40 years (Allien, Star wars, Blade runner, Star trek, etc, etc)

Lol, confession here, I actually believe the illuminati. However, Bioware have nothing to do with it, the eye is the symbol for the seekers of truth.

I'm right there with you, brother. I've noticed the same things. I wouldn't be surprised if David Gaider were one of the Illuminati elites that perform human sacrifices at Bohemian Grove and have plans to upload their collective consciousness to the cyberspace, become immortal gods and destroy traditional religion.

It'd be hilarious to hear what these illuminati believers think about the ancient Egyptians.

I know what the eye in the game represents regarding the seekers...but there are plenty other examples in the game that make me raise an eyebrow.

And the seat of the Gray Wardens power structure is in Weishaupt.....hmmmmm.

Because eyes aren't used to 'seek' things or anything, must be Freemasons.

Occult symbolism representing magical stuff and having significance to in-game Pagan religions isn't really surprising either.

The illuminati was originally an organisation created to educate people about the benefits of natural philosophy (science) over religious philosophy.

The real conspiracy theory is how it's meaning manage to get so twisted in modern interpretation.
