What I don't understand is why people are so down on anyone who believes in, or even takes interest in "Conspiracy Theories". It's not like the majority of those people wear tinfoil hats or lives alone in their own underground bunker to evade the impending nuclear fallout.

Most conspiracy theorists don't even step out of line when talking about these sorts of things, those who do (I.E. the "Wake up, Sheeple!") end up doing so because of all the negativity they receive when bringing up their views on things.

Why is it so crazy to think that the Government just might not want what's best for its people? They're a corporation like any other.

Why would we automatically assume that there's no merit to thinking the Pharmaceutical industry only wants more money and doesn't care if their merchandise is actually safe for people in the long term?

It seems to me that the world would benefit if a larger grouping of people were more skeptical of the people who, far above them, exert control over what goes into the food they can eat, what digital programs that are available for them to watch/play and what laws are being passed to dictate what a person can and cannot do without being punished.

Whether any of these people are connected to one another, laughing maniacally as they reign over the masses isn't relevant in the slightest.

Being skeptical shouldn't be frowned upon.

There is a big difference between conspiracy theorists and those who want to know the truth..... if you know what I mean. To the mainstream media both groups are one, but they are not.

Saw the symbols in the game, but never thought about the illuminati and stuff. Maybe Bioware were inspired by the real world.

Because illuminati/Masonic symbols are all over this game. Cassandra's armor and shield, the quest map with the Pyramids marking your location, the owl statues all over the place, Sola's room thats painted with all seeing eyes everywhere, and Sun icons. If you're a mage even your some of your spells reflect the influence....Fire mine lays down a Pyramid and eye animation, energy barrage has a pyramid  animation....I mean do they even have real Pyramids in thedas? I just thought it was interesting.

This symbology is everywhere you look. Especially if you have even the slightest inclination towards the belief in even the lesser of conspiracies that may or may not exist. IN hip hop the media or tabloids accuse Pop stars and Hip hop stars of using symbols and turning performances into rituals (Like the conspiracy that last years super bowl when the lights wnent out at halftime Madonna performance was part of a ritual as well as her clothing colors and the 9 steps on a prop she walks down. Te one infamous wardrobe malfunction was also part of a ritual apparently. Maybe there is a secret Illuminati type group in the RAW FADE manipulating the area of the world called thedas where everyone stays in a medieval time warp never progressing while the rest of the universe is Mass Effect?) Or maybe your just like me and so many others in my generation.

We cant help but question and look into everything. I don't doubt it I don't believe it. I expect the worst is true and pray to god there is a heaven or non existence when I die instead of some screwed up dimension of pain. Because the bodies way of telling you something is wrong is sending pain signals right? So death would be the ULTIMATE wrong thus youd get caught in a eternal cycle of ULTIMATE pain until your brought back to life which is impossible or not.

People believing in Illuminati and overall conspiracy theories usually see the world in a very simplistic and Manichean way. Wrong nonetheless, but cute, for the effort.

That been said, why is this thread still alive?

I am skeptical.

The people who peddle "JET FUEL CAN'T MELT THROUGH STEEL BEAMS DEBRA" and "OUR REPTILIAN OVERLORDS" aren't skeptical, they're idiots.

Skepticism encourages critical thinking and coming to conclusions based on the evidence provided, not convincing yourself through weird mental gymnastics that the government is out to get you personally and that the Illuminati controls all the world's oil.

Yeah I did notice all the symbolism, it's pretty hard to miss.

They aren't just "conspiracy" symbols. Those are common symbols in western occult and mystic traditions....in a game, appropriately enough, about magic...and a big conflict between mages and templars. But yeah I do think the writers probably are into philosophy and politics (not unlike a lot of writers and artists), and you can see that reflected in their work. Maybe some of them are conspiracy buffs...it does kind of feel a bit like they are trolling or poking fun with things like The Talkative Man.

Just because the OP was wondering if some on the DAI team are conspiracy BUFFS isn't the same as saying he believes in the Illuminati. It's a perfectly valid question. A lot of people find conspiracies fun and include ideas from them in their fiction.

Everything is considered an illuminati symbol to anyone who actually believes in this kind of nonsense. If you actually knew anything about the game you would know the Eye symbol is the Sigil of the Seekers of Truth, the eye being a metaphor for them being "all seeing" seekers of truth. Seeing as Cassandra was a member of this order it makes perfect sense it would be on her armor and shield.

No, it's mostly people who know nothing about the subject and have only heard of it as an Internet meme that believe anything is considered evidence.

It's not any random triangle anywhere.

Occultism is as much of a real practice as any of the several cults that have existed in the history of mankind.

I'm right there with you, brother. I've noticed the same things. I wouldn't be surprised if David Gaider were one of the Illuminati elites that perform human sacrifices at Bohemian Grove and have plans to upload their collective consciousness to the cyberspace, become immortal gods and destroy traditional religion.

Well I'm not going that far but who knows?

I do believe they put a whole lot of symbolic figures, similar satanic blood sacrifices like with blood magic, and demonology. I do think BioWare delves into it because they show a whole lot of illuminati symbolism in games, and I think it's intentional. The question is: What are they trying to tell us?

Bioware are trying to buy their place by promoting Illuminati in their game, as we all know that Bioware record is not so well these days, so their sold their souls to Satan...

uh..well..i mean there are"illuminati" symbols, but illuminati lifted those symbols themselves from much older esoteric schools. They don't own that stuff..the illuminati, that is.

They are esoteric symbols, not illuminati symbols.

From my understanding, the IL were initially organized to uphold and explore scientific questions in a society that would kill you for saying that the earth moves around the sun. It's hard to imagine living in such a situation. That was a long time ago. The world has changed.

Did the IL that started out pushing back against "The Man" become :"The Man" themselves? As we see can happen even in DAI itself. Groups that become tyrants.

Perhaps, but the real question is are they relevant? No, even IF they exist as an organized force they have no power over you. The whole thing is distraction. Distraction from the real difference you can make in the world. Don't chase shadows, even if there is something in the shadows. Eff 'em. They don't have nothing on you. They're just people like anybody else.

The chase is an energy sucker. Energy that could be applied to making a real difference in the world. Small things. Like helping out at a homeless shelter.  Or making your voice clear about specific legislation/laws--in whatever country is your home.

If you want to be a real conspiracy theorist, you view this chase as disinformation intended to keep you chasing shadows instead of participating in a real way with immediate challenges that can be resolved.

I wouldn't worry too much about the IL if I were you. IF they even exist today, and all they want to do is sit in a corner and go, "Muahahaha" forgetting the impetus of fighting oppression that initially galvanized them? Then eff 'em.  We've got work to do.

Many people ridicule the conspiracy theory, it is because of most them sound bizarre such as reptilian agenda, alien invasion and cloning, Jews rule the world economy and thus controlling everything, secret organizations rule behind all governments, depopulation of world to create new one world government...ect

While they are sound unbelievable but they are not wrong, the truth is stranger than fiction

People reject it because it is disturbing, and it disturb their safe zone of their life, everyone are comfortable with the world they are living they don't want to hear something that threatening their comfort zone. While some people just reject thing just because they don't want to believe it or they have their own allegiance out of sentiments, for example they don't want to believe 9/11 is an inside job just because they hate the other guy (Muslims), so no matter how they won't believe it because it will make the other guy as good guy.

Most of Americans and Europeans don't even care about things outside their own room, so they don't care about sufferings in other part of the world, in Syria for example, when problems come to their place like flocks of refugees, they whine and whine...they don't want to understand the cause, the things that lead to the problem, because it disturb their comfort zone....while all the answers are there in the conspiracy theories

What if i told you the things in Dragon Age will become real before the year 2020?

Quite. They also, paradoxically, make people feel safer because they think that somebody is in control, even if it's some shadowy force they don't approve of or agree with. The scary truth: nobody is in charge! (Sure, there are people with a lot of money and power to match, but nobody 'controls the world economy' at the macro scale.)

What if i told you the things in Dragon Age will become real before the year 2020?

Which things? Elves? Dragons? Nugs? Really bad mage hats? (Please tell me it's nugs.)

No, it makes peoples aware, things are not like what it seems to be...that's all conspiracy theorists want, make peoples aware, it doesn't matter if it is right or wrong, but peoples aware of things happening. For example, there is no reason why Bioware want to promote the All Seeing Eye, it serve no purpose, if they want to relate with "seekers" by means seeing and searching, they could use two eyes instead, but one only?

"in blind society, one eyed man rule"

Darkspawn, demons infiltration, and yes dragons, all non-literal ofcourse

Darkspawn, they will spread chaos, killing and butchering like no one ever see before, and they're not monsters, they're human, we already see them now and what they're doing in various form...any groups that make inhumane atrocities, killing peoples like peoples are nothing to them...

Demonic infiltration, we see that everyday, through medias, Hollywood and music industry, Satanic messages are everywhere, no need for me to point out every songs and every movies. Some of you might not believe in demons, satan and such thing, but think about this, why would the industry desperate enough to spread Satanic messages?

Dragons, reptilian domination, they are already in dominant now, the elites are reptiles in human form. They might not be reptilians biologically, but spiritually, it's what they are doing, cold blooded individuals and family dynasties who don't care about peoples sufferings, and don't care about anything but total domination. Dragons are symbol of power, good or evil depends on culture, but in context, we're using western culture about dragons...creatures that are so powerful and only know one thing, domination.

Before 2020, it will all be in it's mature state...the world will not be as it was, there is no turning back...just repent before it all happen...
