I know at least one of the hairstyles Adela is working on is a gorgeous, thick braided bun with side-swept bangs. Two others that I've seen are long, but definitely pulled up in a very stylish manner. I think she's working on others for females, in addition to styles for males, but I haven't seen those. The ones that Adela is working on are styles of the type that I simply can't imagine aren't in the game. Bioware is filled with professional 3D modelers, and we have to hope a community of players are the ones who can actually make our characters look better.
Does she have a page where she shows what she is working on? I would love to tune in and view her talented + very needed work! ♥

I wouldn't mind porting hair to work with Inquisition. I do hair porting/fitting for Skyrim pretty often since no one makes hair for Khajiit. I'm just too lazy/not enough hd space to export the race/npc models to work with.
I suppose DAI heads can't be anymore of a pain then Skyrim. I still haven't finished/forgiven Skyrim's hair physics yet.

She's posted three models in the Cullen thread, and there's also a modders group. She's being very kind about keeping us updated about progress so far. Here's the first post. ![]()
And she just posted these. Looks like modders are just waiting on an import tool.

Following is my rant about hair: There are a lot of things in Inquisition that I'd like to have. I want attribute points back, I want a functional tac cam, I want less action and more RP, and pie-in-the-sky is that my PC could go all Chaotic Evil and use the Mark as a tool for fear instead of shrugging and saying, "I dunno if I'm sent by Andraste." The thing is though that Bioware's hair just, frankly, sucks. It's terrible. It clips and the textures are horrible. How does a game company make something so awesome like just watching the waves on the Storm Coast and then fail so bad at hair? It should be one of the easiest things. You google a pretty style, model it, and slap it on the head. It's way easier for you guys than for modders. And I'm just talking short hair styles. Why why why the females have something like eight options for buzz cuts is beyond me. Players have been asking for decent hair for a long time now. Hell, there's hair in Neverwinter Nights 2 that I'd take over the hair in this game. Just figure it out, Bioware, it's literally one of the easiest thing you can do to make your player base happier.
/end rant

Bioware always good with their game...But when it come to hairstyle. it's always worse.
In Dragon Age Origins people can mod so they can create new hairstyle and it's look really great...
In Dragon Age 2 even people can't mod in this game but hairstyle in this game is still look good.
In Mass Effect 3 Ashley and Miranda have a good long-hair than our Shepard...But we can edit save files to use Ashley Hair.

But in Dragon Age: Inquisition you can't mod it at all and hair in this game is look really bad...
I still prefer to play Inquisition in multiplayer mode only due the lack of hair style for my inquisition.
Wish someone could create more hair for this game...

It isn't. It's a next-gen game limited by last gen capacities. They weren't going to design different sets of hairstyles and armor/robes for the different generations of consoles.
Ideally, the next version will has physics'd clothes and hair.
Note; I do think that regardless of last gen consoles, they could have done a better job on hairstyles. Skyrim stands as proof. They weren't perfect, but they were worlds better.

I've never played on PC with a controller but that's a good idea. I don't think my laptop can handle DAI but we'll see. I'll wait till they get the mods figured out though- and they will. If there's anything I believe in it's that when modders want to mod, - where there's a will there's a way. ![]()

I checked Can You Run It against my system specs, and it's surprisingly better than I thought, even if my processor and GPU just meet minimum and not recommended specs.

I have got to add my 5 cents here. I love this game so so much!
But the hairstyles are terrible, wow I was amazed by how bad they actually are. Maybe the worst choices for female characters in any Bioware game. The one medium hair style that has some length actually has a sideburn appearing on the side the hair is tucked behind the ear. Why would any female want side burns is beyond me. I would say there are about 3 'nearly adequate' styles to choose from.
I personally am thrilled Adela is doing her hair mods and am praying she is successful in adding them to the game. (Good luck Adela
)

I would be willing to accept the limited hair style options if it weren't for the fact that most of them are a plastic mess ingame. What makes it even worse is that we're limited in our color choices as well, because some just look horrendous under certain lighting.

I don't think it's that there are no capacities. I mean there are games with worse over all graphics (especially mmos) that do have hair physics. Like Aion or gw2, wow(idk). It's not like tressfx but it's something. I don't know why they didn't do it.

Well, Sera's hair moves and so does Morrigan's. It's slight, but it's there. I'm not sure if it's a product of physics or something else, but even so, they could have done a much better job with the PC's hair.

I don't disagree. I simply stated its not a next-gen game. There's a lot more going on on screen than cloth/hair physics and at some point it will take a toll on the last gen. Other games do look worse and have better hair. Dark Souls 2 is a great example. Horrendous looking environments, but they've got some of the best cloth physics around. But at some point its a matter of finite system ressources. Even on next-gen consoles, there's a limit to what can be done.
Look at witcher 3. They recently stated the game might run in 720p even on next-gen consoles to accommodate physics on cups and mugs and junk like that.
The only point I am trying to illustrate, and I'll be the first to admit I'm not doing it so well (not feeling particularly eloquent), the point is that this isn't truly a reflection of what next gen consoles are capable.
But then, bioware have never, ever been the best of game developers from a technical standpoint. They're of the same caliber as Bethesda and Obsidian. Great stories, great locals, etc. Lackluster characters, archaic animations, etc.

Just to clarify, modders have successfully imported some assets, so import is possible. So there will be mods released in time. I'm not sure whether they've been able to import every kind of asset yet though.

From what I understand, someone is writing a tool to import textures first because it's simpler. Meshes will come after that. And I assume this is just for ease and so people like me can actually get them in-game.

The person taking the lead on the import tool has succeeded in importing some stuff in the form of modifying some textures (turned Cullen's armor pink
). The import tool is being constructed by breaking the security signatures on different asset types one at a time, if I understand the discussion correctly. Progress seems to be pretty fast so far, and one person suggested that there may be a comprehensive import tool by early next year, if not sooner.
They're able to extract pretty much everything. The trouble is finding it. For now, best thing we can all do is enjoy the game as it is and sense our best wishes to the modding team. ![]()
