The person taking the lead on the import tool has succeeded in importing some stuff in the form of modifying some textures (turned Cullen's armor pink ). The import tool is being constructed by breaking the security signatures on different asset types one at a time, if I understand the discussion correctly. Progress seems to be pretty fast so far, and one person suggested that there may be a comprehensive import tool by early next year, if not sooner.

 

They're able to extract pretty much everything. The trouble is finding it. For now, best thing we can all do is enjoy the game as it is and sense our best wishes to the modding team.

I confess to not really knowing how they're doing it, but I'm happy they are. I did ask in a different thread if I should just hurry up this playthrough now, and she told me to go ahead and do everything because it would take a bit. I'm just selfishly hoping my second character will start with good hair.

I can't understand how, after YEARS of "please give us better hairstyles" we ended up with half the hairstyles being bald/shaved, and the others they must have used a loto fo time and energy to create the worst hairstyles possible... not even ME have so many horrible things. And the textures are worst than in KotOR.

Keep your controller then. The PC controls are atrocious.

 I've heard that ...which is why I went out and bought a new controller. Disappointing. Instead of putting time/effort into the Multi-player version - which frankly, some of us have NO interest in ...why not give the rest of us some DLC with hair? I'd gladly pay for it ...and a Mirror to change appearance in game. Separately or together. Not picky which ...but SOON would be nice.

Sad but true, but Bioware really needs to hire a barber.

I dont get it, how some ppl are excited by a character creation system and says "it's amazing".

It is? I don't think so, cause the most important thing like hairstyles just... sucks.

Male's and women have the same style? "Gender" someone say... but I have deep in my... backside that gender.

To be honest... I thought that original hairstyles from DAO and DA2 were unsightly, but now I miss them soooo much.

I really wanted to buy this game, and play with fun with character what will pleased me, but when I checked the hairstyles I felt like someone kicked me in the head.

Even when I spent over an hour to create my character, I wasn't satisfied truly  

Very huge disappointment, and it was just at the beginning of the game.

It looks like somebody was to lazy to make an effort.

I finish the game, cause as I said I wanted to play this game, but I will not start it again until someone change/add normal hairstyles.

 

And at this point I put my hope in our modders. God or someone bless them. I hope they will save that game.

Anyway... got anyone some info how their work is going?

I'm waiting for Adela's hairstyles.

With all of the hair threads (like a hundred of them) maybe we should get together a petition for better hair. Maybe if they see how many people for real are like WTFATTHISHAIR they will provide us with alternatives when they roll out (if they do) a black emporium DLC.

Black Emporium is for nothing, if you don't have to choose from.

They should officially allow modding and give people the tools to do it ;)

Ditto. I spent around two hours creating a female mage loosely based off Elizabeth from Bioshock... only to be completely stumped the crappy hair. I had to settle for the scruffy bob and live with a vaguely receding hairline. Raising her eyeline and brow to compensate completely warped her cheeks.

it's just depressing that all the hairs that were on the first models we saw of the races were amazing. I want that elven braid and that dwarf female braid. I just don't understand how they came to it those hairs were good enough. I just wanna dropkick a tuna fish but i won't cause thats mean.

YES! or some badass dreads! the concept art with solas and his dreads is amazing. I just think theirs so many hairstyles they could of done. It's not like they even have to be long just different and interesting! .

We need BioWare do something for those on console too. Don't be greedy with your mods, pc gamers. 

or some free DLC who port the hair mods on consoles too, but even who can't have the chance to buy a new pc just to have some hairstyles deserve a decent looking character.

I would be extremely shocked if BioWare never puts out an official hair DLC.  It's just so ridiculously commented on at this point, and the effort is comparatively minimal, that it's almost unfathomable to me to never see one.

there are people who play on console. tha mean modders are unuseful at best for console players. probably they do more bad than good, since the answer to "we want better hair" can be a silly "just play on pc trololol".

it doesn't help. at least not until those mods can't be released for console players too.

By the maker ask Bioware for Hair-DLC then...
It's very hard when they don't create the tool for us but sometime it is the wise choice in case of next Dragon Age Series...
It will be more easy to import everything include your character face even your item in inventory...

I still think Dragon Age Keep will be use in long run in Dragon Age Series...
So I think it good if Bioware make a Hair-DLC along with weapons and armor DLC to make sure that our Hawke and our Inquisition will appear correct in next series.
Without config in "CC" again and again.

I need Bioware to think about the fact that "Whatever ugly woman worn is not make her have a decent look..." Hair is one factor that make a decent look and If the cloth or armor don't make a decent look because of hair...Why we want to pay for it ?...For ability..."No"...The Sims cloth don't have that kind ability but customer happy to pay for it...
And in fact we can finish the game without using new ability weapons and armor...I think people paid for story and inquisition story need to be perfect...

Fine cloth, fine boot, fine hair why not ? Our Inquisition live in Orlais isn't it ?

Best think about the CC is that its a huge improvement on DA2 and I even prefer it to vanilla DAO. However the thing that rescued DAO and DA2 was MODs, hopefully the same thing will happen to DAI.

 

I am confident they will produce some kind of hairdresser, tattoo artist DLC fairly soon.

 

So do we know who at Bioware has a fetish for bald women?

Release mod tools and all problems will be fixed...Modders will fix everything with the game
