What happens if the website and origin ever stop being maintained?

If some years in the future origin and/or the keep website are scrapped then we just have to rely on ourselves to get our saved games working in Inquisition? I think it is a bad idea to rely on so many outside variables just to run a single player game.

Origin can work offline, as well as the game. If the Keep were to get scrapped, there will probably be a way to get a custom world state another way with people tweaking the game files.

To day the website goes down would be the day EA completely goes bankrupt and as long as people love American football that isn't going to happen. They will most likely have another option by then and even more likely they would have came out with a super hyper mega ultra 10k 2050 edition of the game with another way to make world states.

I'm talking the Keep page not EA. As games age the websites dedicated to them do tend to fall into disuse and support for them gets pulled for newer content.

I just think the tool would have been better off bundled with the game and useable offline.

I would imagine that if Bioware ever phases out the Keep, it would be replaced with some other method that would work for any and all Dragon Age games.

But I'm a dreamer...

And it's on EA servers so it's their responsibility. They intend to make this website long term as long as they make new DA games this website will be used unless they decide to do something different with their story importing. What you're worrying about is an issue that probably won't crop up until decades from now and who knows if you'll want to play DA:I in 2055. There's a better chance that a remastered version came out by then that has it's own offline Keep.

It would be a waste of time and resources to rebuild the Keep for offline use every time a new DA game came out and it would be harder to fix if any problems happen. For example some people have noticed that their world states weren't exporting correctly and with a resent update that problem has lessened. DA:I has many problems and has yet to get a patch. If it was bundled off line those people would still be suffering from exporting problems.

I think we have much bigger issues to be focusing on than some imaginary date in the distant future
