Are there any appearance mods out yet for PC? specifically for Cassandra and Josephine?

I liked cassandra, both in appearance and personality. In fact, I see her as the best party member.

About the characters being ugly, I would say only Cole and Solas are really ugly. Which is a pitty, because I've heard female-elf+Solas-romance is kind of the best experience.

The first page of this thread made me laugh. Who cares if someone else has a different aesthetic for what they consider pretty?

Besides, and sorry to say it, Bioware isn't that great with faces.

Well, you got the triple buzzword score bonus but then we had to subtract points for comprehension. Like, all the points. Thanks for playing though!

Well you passed Gender Studies, but you're going to fail at life. Better luck next time.

Actually, I, a straight male, am romancing Dorian (gay dwarf), Blackwall (straight female dwarf) and Solas (straight female elf). And why? because frankly they are better romances than the straight male ones on offer. I know BW has an agenda so I just roll with it.

It's interesting you say this Stardusk, because I find the Cassandra romance a lot more interesting than the Dorian one. As a male who's primarily oriented toward males, I find Dorian's romance arc to be actually quite trite, predictable and impersonal, while Cassandra's was complex and intimate.

Maybe instead of it being a BioWare agenda you just like the Dorian/Blackwall/Solas characters more than the Cassandra/Josephine characters. It's a lot easier to roleplay a romance when you enjoy the character involved, regardless of the orientation.

By your standards? I sure hope so!

So the long hair for women thing is based on several reasons

Long hair is considered attractive full stop. It's pleasing on all genders across all cultures but it is also impractical for manual labour, fighting, hunting ect. In most primitive societies and even in many modern societies men prioritize work and woman prioritize beauty. So that's why we get the long hair for women thing and to some extent short hair for men, it's about gender roles and how we like people who live up to them.

This has little to do with sexual attraction, it is more about social acceptance. That's why people are able to find a woman with short hair attractive or a man with long hair attractive even in an incredibly patriarchal society.

Yes people decide what culture is and that is informed by biology but that doesn't mean that cultural standards are somehow biological standards.

Yup, at that point I pretty much come to a full stop. And facepalm.

Oh, "we" do, do "we"?

Oh God, another Cassandra looks manly thread, disguised as a mod thread.

Yes, because OBVIOUSLY there is a problem.

Me personally? No.  However since I already wrote one far-too-long post in this thread explaining how the claim that, for example, "Long hair is attractive, full stop" is errant nonsense I'll just say this:

Oh, "we" do, do "we"?

Why do you always do this thing where you insist on reading your own personal bullcrap into my comments? It's getting rather irritating.

Yes long hair is pretty and considered beautiful by the vast majority of people. That doesn't mean everyone finds people with long hair more attractive than people with short hair.

Yes in a patriarchal society gender roles are enforced and people react better to those who conform to gender roles. That's why men are mocked in some societies for having long hair, it's not because it makes them unattractive It's because it is considered a feminine trait. That is also why all these complaints about Cassandra's hair exist. Some people just have a more patriarchal mindset and feel like short hair on women looks unfeminine.

My point is non of this is "cuz biology" like the OP was claiming.

Yeah, great. I consider none of them as attractive. Portman looks great... with long hair.

Those images don't contradict that claim. They would if I had said "people with short hair are unattractive full stop" or even "people find those with long hair more attractive than those with short hair full stop" but I did not.

Obviously there are other things that are considered attractive and obviously attractiveness is not entirely dictated by the length of a persons hair. It;s not even about the attractiveness of a person, it's about the fact that long hair is aesthetically pleasing. For example, I think my cats eyes are pretty but I don't find her or her eyes sexually attractive and they aren't a feature I would be looking for in a sexual partner because that would look incredibly wrong.  :P

Perhaps it is because of what you write. ;)

Ugh, stop getting so upset about imaginary characters. Some people like long hair, some people like short hair, some people like big butts.

It doesn't say anything about that person, it's just aesthetics and is completely subjective.

Some actual science would be nice here, if only so you two don't go back and forth with a ridiculous argument.

These types of threads are always full of "my opinion on the subject is right and yours is wrong no matter what you say" and it comes from both sides. If people want mods to change looks why do people care so much? You don't have to use them there is no reason to pick fights over it.

Personally i think Josephine is perfect though i wouldn't mind a longer hair style on Cassandra. However what i really want is to change the skyhold outfit or at least the color.

So if a woman looks good with short hair, she'd always look even better with long hair?
